QLAB | Why Use Multiple Cue Lists in Your Sound Design?
Using multiple cue lists can be a great organizational tool in Qlab. This is especially true if you have repetitive cues. "Thinking like a programmer" is my way of saying think of your cues logically, step by step, and do some extra programming up front to make editing during tech faster and simpler.
This video shows Qlab 3, but everything is applicable to Qlab versions 2 and 4 as well.

Yeah...so at around 7:20 is when things start going wrong. Create a new script? Nope. Add Properties? Nope! Just tells me it exists or that it can't compile

How do you get Qlab to generate a timecode (MTC) and trigger the cues from the generated timecode? I felt the workflow tips in this video were interesting, but I didn't see a breakdown of how it was accomplished. Thx.

Thank you for the great video! I'm new to QLab, and the one cue list I'm using for our theatre's current show is littered with repetitive sound and video cues. You've shown a great way to organize and clean up all of that, and make it more efficient.
Another great video. An upcoming show I worked on last year as well - and in the early tech stages has pre-show/intermission music and there were times where I've had to extend house or intermission and start it over, but this is a great technical way and makes it easier too!
This was great. I also have been using group for everything in the recent past. Although setting it as a default never dawned on me so ...yes thanks for this.
The reason why the order or the Quest Aliases matter is to avoid circular references. Much easier than checking for them ;)
This is the 3rd tutorial I have watched/read and none of this crap works. The Scripts won't compile. I ALWAYS get an error about not being able to read a flag file. Having checked in My Source folder the flag is indeed there but CK isn't reading it. Let's not even mention the absolute bullshit concerning the scrips I've been told to use. NONE of them work. I WISH someone would figure this out and make a tutorial that actually works. Only thing I see in the comments is people complaining bc this stuff didn't work for them. Did they chnge CK so that this stuff doesn't work anymore or something??????
Where exactly do you run into errors?
I had some issues and I had to go to the scripts folder and delete my script in the folder.
I got as far as the courier running up to me and delivering dialogue, but he did not give me the letter. That's why I'm here right now.
ManwithStroath I got that part figured out. You have to add the letter to the courier via a script. I'm fixing to redo My entire quest and combine the Courier Quest with the Main Quest. I lso found the fix to the scripts not compiling and not being able to edit the source of vanilla scripts. Something we would had known if these guys had updated these videos. Are you on Facebook? I'll friend you and help in any way I can bc clearly these guys who make these tutorials won't be forthcoming with help.

So true! took me years to come to this same realization myself. taking the extra time on the front end makes on the fly changes much faster and easier during Tech.

I've done everything you have but I'm not getting the debug notification, which means the courier doesn't have the letter. I guess that would also explain why he's not approaching me.
