I don't think the om-108 has chord memory like the older models. I didn't see it in the manual and there is no button interface for it on this unit either so I don't know how it would be accessed. Hopefully someone can prove me wrong on this. Sad omission, looks like you have to memorize and play the chord changes yourself 🙁

Definitely! I'll be making another om-108 video trying out some more synth combinations, I'll be sure to be more descriptive about how I set it up, plus I'll have the bass midi channel working properly next time 😜

Thanks! I used a Sony a7S II with a 24mm f1.4 Rokinon manual focus lens. I tweak video color in Lightroom using VSCO photo develop presets.

I'm glad this video found you! Yeah I think the midi implementation is great fun, although one weird feature is that the chord and strum channels seem to output different velocities, if you send midi to one instrument with velocity sensitivity receiving all channels (I tried with an electric piano) you won't really be able to balance the chords with the strums. It's easily solved by having multiple instruments to chain though. I'm excited to actually get the model D working on the bass channel, that was my own user error but it gave some interesting results.

@@martinBmeier I had some trouble getting the Omnichord MIDI to register on a few old samplers (Akai and Yamaha VSS30 mod), but worked pretty well on an old Alesis Quadrasynth and Oberheim 3000. I've had the best luck running it through EHX "9" series pedals, which gives you lots of different sounds without the MIDI issues. It sounded great through the Mel9.

Yeah I attempted to hang my camera by it's strap from a patio umbrella so I could get a clear top down view of all the pedals so people could see what I'm tweaking, and it turned out BAD. I usually use a tripod, but thanks for enduring and giving it a listen! 😅If you want sounds without any video check me out on music streaming services (artist: purple martin). I've got a couple albums! (with a little more musical focus than the meandering in the video)

@@asynchronicity Oh yeah I did try that too, that was my thought going into it, but the wobble is so severe that it cropped into the video quite a bit and cut off some of the pedals

Yes, to your point the Reface CP on Wr mode is trying its best to imitate a wurli. If I hadn't bought all these Chase Bliss pedals I would be halfway there to playing an actual Wurlitzer EP (albeit through nothing), maybe someday! As someone with three cats I can confidently say that it does a better job of this than the Meowdulator does at imitating a cat though 😿

I'm really enjoying it! It does seem to tread into similar pitch shifting, glitch/reverse/granule, sample rate reduction and bit crushing etc. territory that you can get from the mood mk2, but I think something that was less apparent until I played with it is how responsive the feeling of playing through it is. It feels different from a delay or reverb I suppose because of audio level sample triggering that it does, like how loudly or percussively I play through it really does change what it does in response (hey I guess that's why they call it a dynamic sampler lol I should have expected that). I've got a lot more exploring to do with it. Also, I really like the warm side of the texture knob as well, combined with the chorus switch I'm really digging the Leslie-ish swirly overdrive sounds I'm hearing from it.

Thanks! I use a large portable battery, 300 watts. It has two AC outlets for larger synths and a pedal chain. It evens powers a pair of 50 watt desktop speakers if I don’t want to use headphones, brand is EnginStar on Amazon.
