As you can see, this log is close to the maximum length that can be processed on this lathe. (maximum length 1100cm) It seems to cope pretty well, so do I :). Thanks for watching and all the best! Dupa cum puteti vede, acest bustean este aproape de lungimea maxima care opate fi prelucrata pe acest strung. (lungime maxima 1100cm) Se pare ca face fata destul de bine, la fel si eu :). Is it worth buying a wood burner if you have a soldering iron?

    Great job. My next projects will be Anniversary goblets for my married kids with interlocking rings, will personalize for each couple. Watching you do this clarified the process for me. Nice work with the skew chisel and I learned something new with using a light and final shaping of the cup from the outside for even wall thickness...and tennis ball to bring tailstock back into play. Many thanks!

      If you already have a soldering iron at home, sure. But if you want to buy, just buy the appropriate tool for whatever job you have to do.

      Assuming that the tool is not damaged or burnt, it must be held almost in place during pyro-engraving, depending on the humidity and hardness of the wood.

    Adaugind balast din plumb pe baza elimina vibratiile mult maji usor si in acest fel nu tre'sa faci sute de gauri. Facind acele gauri reduci rigiditatea barelor, marind deasemenea riscul de accident prin ruperea barelor gaurite.

    Of course, lubrication calms vibrations and extends the life of parts that wear out without lubrication, but from open holes, dust will certainly get inside that hole and cause more damage, it is necessary to put rubber bands as protection.

    The only thing I like about this video, is the way you made the lubrication holes, the rest is a downgrade to the machine, if it vibrate a lot, which is normal for a scroll saw, make an iron stand and fix it to it, you will see a big difference. Thanks for sharing anyway

    • @ade-woodcrafts
      @ade-woodcrafts Рік тому

      Thanks for the reply anyway :). I succeed making it in a way that it is functioning without vibrations, thus does not require bolting it down to the workbench. I consider this a great advantage and upgrade. I can move it around wherever I need it with ease. Most important is that I can make accurate cuts in absence of massive vibrations.(it is not normal for scroll saws to vibrate, maybe only the cheap ones like this one) Cheers and thanks for the reply!

    I wonder how many people have the courage to open the machine as you did, and more importantly, how many people would drill as many holes on the arms as you did, as this surely weakens them considerably. It would also be interesting to hear what the manufacturer thinks of your ideas and modifications..🤔

    • @ade-woodcrafts
      @ade-woodcrafts 3 роки тому

      Thanks for the comment! It's Actually not that hard to disassemble it, all it takes is a little bit of courage, the arms seems to be holding nice so far, if you look closely I drilled the holes only in between the triangles and that didn't affect the rigidity of the arms.🍻

      @@ade-woodcrafts Thank you for your response ! Perhaps you can help me with this problem : I have a Proxxon DSH (V1), and for some strange reason, I cannot get a (pinned) blade into the mount anymore. I have loosened the tensioning mechanism completely, and pushed the upper arm downwards, but I still cannot get it down far enough to get the upper pin into the mount. It would be necessary to get it down another 3-4mm, but there is no further adjustment possible…🤷🏼‍♂️ Do you have any idea what the cause could be ???

    • @zeejimi4044

      @@ade-woodcrafts Maybe you’re right : I’ve discovered that there are blades that are 130mm long, and some are only 127mm long, so I’ll check that ! I hope that Proxxon haven’t changed from 130mm to 127mm, as that would be a real headache for me..

      Hey, I'm glad this video is useful! I have had this lathe for some time, unfortunately I have not had the chance to work on others but I can tell you a few things about it. The best thing about this lathe is the variable speed which makes it very versatile, the next thing is the ease with which it operates, you can change the speeds on the go, another interesting and useful thing is that you can rotate the motor assembly at different angles up to 180 degrees.

    • @ade-woodcrafts
      @ade-woodcrafts 3 роки тому

      The only downside I've found so far is that it doesn't have the rotation reversal for finer sanding.
