Modern life tries to hide it, but there’s wildness inside us all.
When we smell the sea, look into a fire or at the stars... the wildness stirs, and it is so good.
It’s the part of you that wants to go somewhere you’ve never been and do something you’ve never done. It’s the side that wants to make something with your hands.
And in your hands, a well-made knife is a key to this wildness.
It is the most basic, and beautiful, of all man’s tools. A timeless, tireless companion. And good ones have spirits that propel you to explore - as though just by holding it, you feel the confidence to go forth in the wild or just the kitchen!
And while a sharp, sturdy, thoughtful knife is a key to many wild places you can go, more importantly, it is the key to a wild way to feel.
My knives, and this channel, are designed to inspire a little wildness and adventure in you. Hope it works!

I get (extremely) lucky and invited to a Fiji paradise with a bunch of legends to chase all the toothy critters that live in the sparkling, sapphire water of one of the most beautiful places on earth. Thanks again for the invite lads!
Wildkey 6 - Aussie fly fishing with mates and why the wild is always better, shared. Catch and cook.
Переглядів 1,4 тис.2 роки тому
Was lucky enough to have my best mate and my Godson away with me on this adventure, and it got me thinking about why the right people make the good times so much better. We catch plenty of fish, eat some amazing food and there’s even a cautionary tale on picking your nose while walking along a fly fishing river… I hope you like it. 🔥Please subscribe for all the latest episodes! ua-cam.com/users...
Wildkey - Lazy day chasing flathead in a Hobie Outback
Переглядів 5812 роки тому
A lazy, early winter day on my local river. The Hobie Outback is such a brilliant little boat, and turned an ordinary Saturday into a proper adventure... so much so that I had to have a little sleepies in the middle. Such a hard core wildman...
Wildkey 5 - Big trout, weird signs, and finding myself camping in a Yellowstone Episode.
Переглядів 1,6 тис.2 роки тому
After a long break due to Covid, I finally get back out for a trip and find myself in a valley that seems straight out of a Yellowstone episode. And while I spend nearly the whole adventure looking for signs that my luck is about to change, it's really the last sign that seems to make the most sense... Caught plenty of big fish, enjoyed amazing weather, and a magic hideaway all to myself. Dedic...
Wildkey Short - Meanwhile in Australia... Pirate Goanna boards boat and captures crew.
Переглядів 5043 роки тому
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water... a large goanna (basically a snake with legs) boards the boat of an heroic young crew, takes command and sets off down river. We hope these brave boys are okay. 🔥Please subscribe for all the latest episodes! ua-cam.com/users/WildKey

More bad weather sends me into the hills for... more bad weather. Nah, I do get a stunning sunset, a mint morning, a few trout, and a moment to think about the crazy way my head works. Hope you like it. 🔥Please subscribe for all the latest episodes! ua-cam.com/users/WildKey
Wildkey 4 - Lost monster flathead, road trip, kayak fishing, catch and cook flathead and trevally
Переглядів 2,3 тис.3 роки тому
Bad weather had me following my nose down the south coast of NSW on a road trip. Found paradise. Some amazing kayak fishing in a Hobie Revolution 13. Lost a monster flathead (but filmed it on my drone) caught a couple and fried them up in panko crumbs. Speared a trevally and had that as sashimi on the last day when bad weather sent me heading inland for Part 2. 🔥Please subscribe for all the lat...

Fishing for mulloway (jewfish) with my crack crew. We catch two beautiful fish on the Hawkesbury river and let them both go in the middle of the day. Special memory with my wife and youngest daughter from a few years ago. 🔥Please subscribe for all the latest episodes! ua-cam.com/users/WildKey

Wildkey Episode 1- Hobie Kayak catch and cook flathead on coals.
Переглядів 3,5 тис.4 роки тому
A day spent on a Hobie Revolution, exploring and fishing a tucked away part of the Cowan River in Sydney, Australia. Caught a couple of beautiful little flathead and had one for lunch after cooking it on the coals of my campfire. This creek is just fifteen minutes from my house, but feels like another world. Really is the lucky country.

Wow, good to see you are back! Looking forward to it!
Slowwwwwwly! But going as fast as I can! Thanks for the message.
Looking forward to this.
Thanks mate! Won’t be long.
Magic place.
Yes indeed mate. Very special.
Did you have to punish us with the noisy birds 😅😅
Sorry! Wanted you to have the whole experience! 😬
Hahaha
"I didn't faint...that often." classic!
True story. 🤣
'A thousand possessed babies.' Great to have you back Paul!
Thanks mate! Sorry it took so long. Damn life getting in the way and all!
That was epic. No plan, plans are the best plan. I was also a big fan of the tiny bonfire
It did the job! Thanks buddy. I finally got off my arse to finish editing thanks to your channel.
So many great moments on your adventure guys-great catches, the stingray coming in for a kiss, the sunsets. I don’t know how you slept with those birds. A bit more whiskey perhaps? 😂~Nicole
Thanks so much Nicole! Was so much fun.
Fantastic,thoroughly enjoyed it
Thank you!
That was amazing I just loved it….. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks heaps!
Fantastic vid, cheers for the link up on the Brown Trout chat.🏴☠️🙌🎣 kind regards, Jarrod.S
Thanks mate! So glad you liked it.
Well done Paul . Another cracking video. Looks like a great spot.
Thanks mate. Was absolutely beautiful.
Looking at the same yak. Are you happy with it? Any major issues?
It’s far and away the best one I’ve ever had, and I’ve had 4 now. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
Just fantastic. The filmwork and the music just wonderful. You catch the essence of what blokes need from time to time. A place and activity just to " reclaibrate". In a hectic world I needed a day on a stream with a few fish looking up. Then is was complete again and almost a normal human being. Thanks so much. I just love your content.
Mate thank YOU for such a lovely message. So glad you liked it. Got a few more in the works - hopefully ready soon!
Wildkey, didn’t know you did that type of fishing, always thought you were the introspective, fly fisherman, deep in country type guy. I would love to do some Makerel fishing, Spotties and Spanish, I like the idea of getting them on slugs, real Pelagics fishing, at mo I’m just cutting my teeth chasing Flatties, Bream and Whiting in the Estuaries, don’t tell anyone, but I’ve found the Camden Haven on the Mid North Coast to be very nice, and it’s been good to me, bonus!! Merry Christmas mate, hope you get a new fishing rod!!
Mate I’ll fish in an aquarium with a safety pin if that’s all that’s available. As long as I’m near water I’m happy. On that note - not much better in the world than flathead fishing. One of my favourite things. So keep those secret spots to yourself my friend! 🤣 Thanks for the note buddy and Merry Christmas!
From 5 to 8 mins and 1025 to 14 mins you perfectly captured the experience of kayak fishing. So good I had to watch it on the tele.
Made my day mate! Thank you.
As a dad of two girls could really appreciate this and relate to it.
Thanks Jim. It’s my favourite film ever.
More please. You are good at it,
Thanks so much mate - I’m working on it! Really appreciate the message.
Enjoyed this video so much and congratulations on an excellent production. So glad you posted a link on Josh Trednicks Channel. My daughter chose the film Into the Wild as a comparative text for her HSC English course. We both loved it and it made an impact on us both. I am looking forward to more and sent my friends and family the link to your channel.
Thank you so much mate! Really appreciate your note and also that you shared my channel. What a legend! Loads more episodes in the works so I hope you like them.
I hope you saw this one? Hopefully your daughter will like it too. It’s my favourite episode so far with my daughters. ua-cam.com/video/977ZAJ3khA4/v-deo.html
Another great watch Paul, what swag are you using bud?
Thanks heaps buddy. It’s the single Darche that’s extra long. Absolutely one of my favourite things and lives in the Jeep permanently. So comfy and SO easy. Have slept in raging storms in complete comfort.
Yeah great I’ve got a Blackwolf Ryebuck hybrid swag absolutely amazing kit too, I’ve the canvas and lite versions depending on seasons and where weight and size comes to play
This video touched my heart in many ways massive highs and lows of laughter and emotion as a parent prospective, loved it and we all must cherish everyday as parents to our god sent children that fulfil ours busy lives, we need time like this to really bond and appreciate the simple things in life and this is my cup of tea, love every minute and thank you 🙏🏽
Thank YOU for such a lovely message mate. Made my day!
Brilliant. I’m the same tbh. Spend hours in the hobie, often trolling bullet as well. Have just been getting to eucabene in last couple of years and love the place. Bloody cold as well. Thanks for taking the time to make it :)
Thanks for such a thoughtful message mate! Eucumbene is awesome.
I get it, often fly fish on my own in the snowy mountains sleeping in the back of my car. Pure serenity
It’s the best eh! Thanks mate.
Very nice 👌
One of the best video that I have seen showcasing fly fishing the Australian Alps. Well done 👍
Mate that has made my day! Thank you so much for such a lovely message.
Absolutely serenity, I need this we all do, love the Bullet lures very underrated imo, what lake may I ask?
Thanks buddy! Tantangara in the snowies!
Thanks Paul it looks really special there and would love to do this on my own or especially my children 🙏🏽❤️
Precious memories for you and family to treasure forever
Thank you buddy. That made my day.
Enjoyed your trip almost as good as being there used to hunt just out of Capertee on a relatives property beautiful country up that way
Absolutely gorgeous. Spend as much time out there as I can mate. 👍🏼
Well done mate. Enjoyable video!
Thanks heaps mate! So glad you liked it.
Mate that trip is exactly what I need myself right now to get away and do this life has been far too busy for a long while now! Nice fish to boot!
Do it mate. Opening weekend riiiiiight around the corner!
New sub here, you just stumbled across our favourite not-so-secret location... Geehi Flats. Swampy Plains sure is something else... great video!
Thanks so much for the message and so glad you liked it! What a gem of a location. Just stunning.
Next place to have "Gone Bad"
great video mate!! really hit the heart strings. what camera and sound equipment did you use for this masterpiece?
Thanks for the kind words buddy! I really appreciate that. I use a GoPro 9 and a Canon M50 mostly. Neither are super expensive but both bo a great job in relatively harsh conditions (I certainly don’t treat them with kid gloves…). I honestly so glad you enjoyed it.
I can very much relate to much of what was said. Even the stuff you didn't say.
You’re my kind of person then!
Gorgeous location. Guessing NSW?
Yeah mate - this is the Cowan in northern Sydney. Stunning.
Really appreciate all the effort that you put into each video Paul . Great visual story telling , which helps push the viewer to look at what they do to “enjoy life “
Thanks so much mate. Very kind words indeed and I really appreciate that you notice.
Another good one Paul ! Totally relate too the need for the wilderness
Thanks mate. Been a while between trips now, so I NEED some of that!!!!
Great Vid Paul ! It’s a lovely spot
Thanks mate - so glad you liked it!
When did that fishing trip take place .if it is july , you should know that all rivers and streams are closed from june long weekend to october long weekend
No it was ages ago Louis. 👍🏼
Very nice indeed. What rivers did you fish?
Thanks mate! That’s the Thredbo in NSW. My favourite river in the world.
Wow what an incredible video mate. The photography and scenery is amazing. Is this private property or a place anyone can get to? :)
Thanks mate - so lovely of you to say! And no this is public land in the Snowy Mountains, NSW, and open to all. Enjoy!
@@WildKey thanks mate. I’m from Victoria and it’s always been a dream to camp in the open plains like that chasing trout. Do you have a road or area I can put into Google maps? Ps please make more videos as I just stumbled across your channel and is the best thing to watch while on my lunch break. I feel in there with you 👍🏼
well done Mr Nagy. Love it. Let me know next time you are down Tasmania way and I'll get you out on some of my favourite pieces of water.
I’m heading down at the end of the year my man! So I will definitely take you up on that. A new episode is born!
hey can I ask what stretch of rive?
Mate. Absolutely awesome little edit. 10/10
Thanks so much buddy! Really appreciate that.
Great video mate, although on an icy morning I prefer a good wog rocket fuel and greek coffee over a beer, for a morning heart starter. Took my daughter there a couple months ago and she wants to go back again. November will go with the whole family I hope
Well I hope to see you there - particularly for a breakfast beverage. Sounds like we’ll get along like a house on fire! 😉
@@WildKey I found the fish from the area too good to cook. It wa so red that we salted it raw overnight then stored in olive oil and ate it for the next few days like you would smoked salmon.
Where is this beautiful place?
NSW Snowy Mountains in Oz. Absolutely beautiful part of the world.
Mate - what an inspiring video! I have talking about doing a trip exactly like this with my best mate and our boys. That looks like an absolutely amazing location. Great video, well done.
Thank you so much buddy. Really does mean the world to me hearing you liked it, and I hope it does get you out there with the lads. Really is nothing better. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
Another cracker vid Paul. Fi's Garlic Butter ... a nice touch :)
Thanks and sure is!!!
Isn’t it more about balance, I mean some of my most poignant and special moments have come when alone. I don’t go deep into the heartland like you do, I can’t even drive, so that would be hard, and dangerous, but when I go for a walk or fish the local lake, I would rather be alone than with company, luckily, very fortuitously I have a wife, so yes can share later. But the gaining of those thoughts, experiences done alone. And all the more special for that. Have enjoyed watching yr stuff better part of a year. And I think yr one of the few out there who brings an innate spirituality to yr vids. Always enjoyable, always learn something, always makes me think. Thanks.
Mate that’s one of the most thoughtful messages I’ve ever received - thank you so much. I totally get what you mean about balance. I literally can’t function without alone time to chew through all the craziness that builds up inside my head when I’m around people. I’m always fascinated by people who hate being alone. I don’t know how they cope. And the spiritual comment means a lot to me, too. Wild places really speak to me. Thank you so much for watching and I hope you continue to get out on those walks. That’s the good stuff.
You don’t put a lot up but I have enjoyed them all. That is a great camp site you had. It looked a good place to recharge the soul.
Thanks mate. Yes indeed it’s a special place and I really appreciate you watching. Hopefully one day I’ll have a bit more time to devote to all this. But the message means a lot to me. 👍🏻
Easily my favourite so far. How goods a breaky beer?!?
Thanks buddy. They are THE BEST.
