It's used in both directions upwards as well as downwards for very different reasons. Upwards strokes help uplift & firm skin. Downward strokes help clear Lymphatic drainage & muscle tension :)

@marianiaz5896 ok purging usually happens within 2-3 weeks of use. In case it's not happening then possibly you're either using too less of a quantity or you don't currently have any acne sitting under the skin so that good. It can start it's healing phase right away :)
