I knew this man. He was a friend. I can tell you that he was truly humble and oh so talented.

❤❤❤ Mac was literally my idol growing up!
Mac David was an incredible man. He stayed at our family’s resort a couple of times and got to know my parents pretty well. Such an easy guy to talk to and generous with his time. We went to dinner with him and a storm caused the restaurant to lose power. I remember him playing “the spoons” while we waited for the lights to come back on and get our dinner. He stayed in touch with my parents and even invited them to his house.
In the ghettoooooo, where Mac Davis sucks it!!
😂 that hit my funny bone. Mac !
ANYONE ELSE WISH THAT THE INTERVIEWER HAD ASKED MAC WHAT THE TITLE OF THE MOVIE WAS?🥴🥺😬😟(ODD THAT MAC NEGLECTED TO DO SO.) NICE STORY, BUT MAC DAVIS WAS ONE OF INUMERABLE CELEBRITIES AND PEOPLE IN THE PUBLIC EYE LIKE NEWS BROADCASTERS, RADIO AND TV SHOW ANNOUNCERS, WEATHER REPORTERS, POLITICIANS, ATHLETES, COMEDIANS AND EVEN HIGHLY EDUCATED LAWYERS WHO CONSISTENTLY USE PRESENT TENSE VERBS TO DESCRIBE PAST ACTION. VIRTUALLY ALL NARRATORS OF DOCUMENTATIESALSO HAVE THIS FLAW, WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN RESOLVED IN GRADE SCHOOL. IT BOGGLES MY MIND AND ANNOYS ME TO NO END. I ALWAYS SAY THE CORRECT VERB TENSE TO MYSELF SO I DON'T PICK UP BAD SPEECH PATTERNS. MAC DAVIS PASSED AWAY DURING HEART SURGERY AT AGE 78 IN 202O. A NATIVE OF DALLAS, TEXAS, I AM 77 YEARS OLD. FELLOW TEXAN MAC DAVIS WAS BORN IN LUBBOCK. I WAS NEVER ENAMORED BY HIS SINGING VOICE, BUT HE HAD A FINE SPEAKING VOICE AND WAS A GENTLEMAN TO BE ADMIRED FOR ALL TIME FOR HIS LEGACY OF FINE SONGS.
Sad Parker controlled him, a gambler too. Missed his fans, doing stupid movies.
Great actor and singer/songwriter. So sad that he’s gone.
Gotta love Mac Davis.
Wow. Never read or heard about the silver tray before.
Loved Mac Davis
Just beautiful!! This touches my soul! ❤❤❤
great story 👍😂 thanks👍so good to hear this stories about Elvis !!! we all love him so much ❤️❤️
LOVIN LINDA !
Hello Vince Gill You Always Write Songs That I love To Play Over and over God bless you Forever you are So Very Blessed Always You Are. My Favorite Song Writer in the world God Bless you Always And Be safe Always 😷
Great story. I am not a big Elvis fan. Nothing against him though. He was before my time, really. But every, SINGLE interview that I see about him. All people say is how nice he was. And for a guy to be that HUGE...and still be nice. That to me is just fantastic. ☮
Geeze song writers never get the credit they deserve RIP Mr Davis thanks for sharing your songs
Good Man. Mac Davis RIP
Man I wish that more level headed people would have been around Elvis like Mac instead of his yes men aka Memphis Mafia and Colonel Tom Parker that all took advantage of his giving nature and used him for all they could. Maybe if someone would have actually cared enough to talk Elvis into getting help for his binge eating disorder and drug addiction he might have lived another 20-30 years. Also in my opinion if he had not got involved with Parker he could have been even bigger than he was instead of known for some of the worst movies in history. It is just a shame that he missed the opportunity to star in Westside Story, Midnight Cowboy and A star is born because Parker said no.
So sad. That Elvis was so guarded by a bunch of mean men. They forced him to work. So sad.
What can I do to make it better. "Baby Baby don't get hooked on me"
Man, Elvis seems like he was such a sweet, good natured guy who always meant well and was just surrounded by a lot of people who didn't necessarily have HIS best interest at heart - that kind of behind-the-scenes controlling of people without Elvis' permission, telling them where they can and can't sit without consulting Elvis about it, speaks volumes. Had Elvis been surrounded by better people I think he'd have lived a lot longer - maybe until the present day - he'd be in his 80s but sure, totally possible.
if they care so much about Elvis they should have told him to look after himself go on the diet go to the doctor …
Thanks for playing the Hoyt Sherman with David Grisman and his lovely wife selling merchandise. Such a perfect venue for you. C.G.P.
He filled in for Lorrie Morgan in Michigan 2 weeks ago, warming up for Pam Tillis. For 62 years old, he was a ton of energy! Sang all the hits and just nailed it 👏 Pam Tillis was phenomenal too, and for a $65 ticket, I was thrilled! 🥳 Never underestimate a casino show!
Mac Davis was a true superstar in the 1970s. Had his own TV show. He was easily as popular as Johnny Cash at the time. What a classy guy. Rest easy, Mac.
Should have been number one.
Elvis Presley "The King of Rock and Roll" died on my birthday... August 16th, 1977. Aretha Franklin (Queen of Soul) in ... August 16th, 2018. 😞
Even though I was only 4 years old when Elvis died, I always considered him the epitome of cool. The way he talked, his look , of course the first songs when he still had DJ, Bill and James as his band all combined to form the ultimate rock star. I've seen and heard musicians and thought ' reminds me of the Stones, or Beatles or whoever but NOBODY reminds me of Elvis. He was totally unique
Was there when he started, he was the same ole Elvis until the Col. Got him into those stupid movies he hated
Love this song. Thank you.
I really enjoy this entire album!
When I was growing up, Mac Davis was everywhere on TV, just one of the biggest names. It's so fun to see him still around (well, 9 years ago) telling great stories about the greats of music. He is missed. Now I've got Baby Don't Hooked on Me looping in my head, LOL. Mac Davis, one of the greats!
