as I was in London and wanted to make some money exchange in the Bank , the young lady had beautiful eyes and smooth voice and nice hair , nice dress and a lovely body , I said to her "Good morning lovely Lady , now the sun is shining" she asked me if I would marry her right there and then , I was single, so we married , best choice for both of us. And the nice thing is she is a billionaire and I didnt know it then. Now we are happy with our 8 children. and she now even has a nicer body than before. How did she do that ? 59 years of wonderful marriage full of energy. I am so happy... so boys and girls , Lovely Greetings to you all...

It’s been about 20 years since my last visit to London. I have been there 8 times. I never noticed the behavior described herein.

My SF Bay Area father was at an astronomy seminar in a small mountain town over 20 years ago. As he was walking in town, someone waved at him. He was taken aback and unsure what was going on, until he finally realized, "Oh, he's just being friendly!" So scary!!!

That's literally my experience going from Northern Virginia to South Carolina in a work related trip. In the hotel I was staying, 3 strangers came up to be within 10-15 minutes saying "good morning sir", making me wonder for a full hour if they may have mistaken me for their boss... And then when a new guest came and started talking to receptionist with southern accent, I realized why.

In Noway first time, i got a lot of weird glances after a "hi" while walking alone out and about. Then a friend told me if you do that, people will think you're nuts.

You're telling me Londoners don't greet strangers?

Funny I lived in Norfolk for a few years and returned to London saying Morning. People thought I was Ko-Ko.

It is true. I was in London on vacation from the U.S. with my wife and on the train ride into London I made the mistake of saying good morning to a stranger and he looked at like he had two heads. Being from the Bx NYC I told him if he can’t be friendly he should go screw himself.
