It's not that scary. I suggest playing left 4 dead. Then your ready. Scary talking
I tried PrayDogs VR ejector (The Silent Hill 2 remake one) but could only manage between 10-17 FPS, which of course made the game unplayable in VR. Also, I had to turn all settings to LOW and turn off Ray Tracing, HDR and DLSS .... I imagine it would take at least a 4090 GPU (I have a 4070 Super) to run this game - if you want it with decent graphics and lighting. I can't understand why these games companies aren't making VR versions of their games as well .. would it really be that expensive to do?
@coolmacatrain9434 i recommend using steam link and lower down vr resolution for this game
@@lathander9123 I'm using Virtual desktop at the moment which works very well for any other VR games I have (Like Half-Life Alyx). Which VR resolution settings are you referring to? are you talking about settings in Virtual desktop? Any help in getting this game to run well would be greatly appreciated!
@coolmacatrain9434 My prior tool for PC VR gaming is also VD, but it is too lacking when using it with UE. Just use the Steam link only for the game. It requires much less resource. And start render resolution 50%. And increase it when it has enough performance. And turn off the most options except up scaler like FSR. It might help AA and refined image.

This is insane. What's required for this setup? The vr treadmill, oculus and PC that is powerful enough? Is that all you need? I've heard that you need a room large enough to setup the VR system totally or are those three things that i just mentioned enough?
@jani14jani you just need PC, VR, VR treadmill to get this setup. I recommend buying meta quest3 for VR. You can buy ethier omni one or katwalk.

in that case...then...like...the stand is just a glorified hunk of plastic? it serves no real purpose? heck, do I really need the treadmill itself or just the shoes? I just need something that's remotely shaped like the Kat VR thingy to prevent me from falling?
Whether it's worth the price or not is up to each person's perspective. For me, I'm using their software, shoes, and direction sensors, and I’ve been experiencing incredible immersion. Plus, I have absolutely no confidence in DIYing something like this myself, so I personally think it’s worth every penny. Honestly, most products in the world can technically be DIYed, after all.
I hate this game just does not work on my Vive any more :(.

They didn't use Lumen or realtime raytracing for Riven, just lightmaps. Happy to see some appreciation for the characters, Cyan's progress has been significant in that area.

I expected it to be short since it’s a prologue, but it was even shorter than I anticipated-about a 15-minute demo. I was hoping to see some of the new elements they’d previously showcased, but the gameplay felt almost the same as Half-Life 2, which was a bit disappointing. The focus on familiar locations like Ravenholm from Half-Life 2 also left me wanting more.
yeah in 2024 we want something new. this is the same old shit half life 1 gameplay mechanic. which was fine in 1998 :D, but its annoying in 2024 new games don1t wanna evolve or scared to add new mechanics. like proper close combat etc...
Shame the game is pretty much dead on pc

@lathander9123 wouldnt that essentially be rendering it as 2d then? I'm cable linked, then start steam vr, then run game in vr mode.
@@wheeltrouble if you use quest link, it probably run the game as open XR and Katwalk doesn't support OpenXR through link. You can run full VR rendering with Virtual Desktop does not only for monitor mirror. the image quality is much better than link.

I really like the way they are doing this release. It definitely feels like early access, but it's complete enough to give you plenty to do after ITR 1. Once the full release drops and the bumpers are removed, it's going to be an easy 10/10

i dont know if its just my audio being weird but the sound of your voice is only coming through one ear. maybe check in your editing software to see if the audio of your voice is mono, if not it might be causing this to happen to headphone users. idk tho, good video either way
