    I am thinking this video should be provided to everyone at FEMA. What better way to learn what is to be done in such a horror as this-and do those things diplomatically. I enjoyed this very much- best presentation I’ve heard in a very long time. Thank you so much for posting this

    Wasn't it 46 minutes or does 20 minutes refer to how long it took to enter Joplin?

    But the only reason its a EF5 is because it hit people / caused damage. How many EF5 speed tornados are there everywhere?

  • @sigsin1
    @sigsin1 4 місяці тому

    El Reno was 2.6 miles, 302 mph. So size and wind speed don’t matter when assigning EF. It was rural and only hit some buildings indirectly, with EF3 damage.

    Here's a question... this Tornado was on the ground, causing catastrophic damage from 5:34 to 6:20... 46 minutes on the ground, yet the NWS office in Springfield did not issue a Tornado emergency? Sure it happened too fast for west Joplin, but a Tornado Emergency being issued would have certainly been beneficial for the east side of town, and the outer towns to the east like Diamond and Duquesne, which were hit just as hard.

    The NWS says that when a tornado reachs EF-5 wind speed, it doesn't matter if the wind speed is lower or higher than a different EF-5. Same damage occurs. Not sure why this guy doesnt agree with, or understand EF ratings. There is no reason to even come up with a EF-6 rating, since the rating is distinguished from damage. Some people see a wedge tornado and naturally think there is going to be total devastation. A wedge can be a EF-1. However, the width of a tornado is a main factor with damage. For instance, if the El Reno, Ok. tornado had hit Joplin, there would have been way more than the 161 deaths due to its size, not the wind speed. Some EF-5's have dug down deep enough in the ground to kill people in cellars. I'm sure that the type of earth is a factor. A EF-5 in the Ozarks couldnt dig down as far as one in Iowa, due to many areas only having a very thin layer of soil on top of stone. The Joplin tornado dug up dirt that was contaminated with a flesh eating bacteria that blew into some wounds. If the tornado had happened on a weekday, chances are that there would have been less deaths unless it had happened at night. Many people would have been at work causing residential neighborhoods to be less populated.

    When a 400 lbs siren is pulled off its mount and flung tto a place, never to be seen, for as the cuty civil engineer was aware. Imagine just out living off the grid 4 miles away just camping in the woods. Out of nowhere a huge chunk of metal while it's siren propeller is spinning and making its typical siren sound headed right at your head, but lands 10 ft in front of your feet and digs a groove right at your feet

    3 million sq ft. Of debris. Off subject, 600,000 sq.ft twin towers debris, interesting enough, the evaporation of the iron structure was the exception to the rule of steel I beams. So, that's a question mark and the dump trucks were not just available, but ready to have loaded and dumped in a scrap yard and shipped to China, quickly.

    23:30 Keith Stammer (The one doing this presentation) had noted that the Weather Channel reporter had unknowingly picked a location near bodies and had seen them during this interview, which in turn made him emotional during the broadcast. This was not what had actually happened, even though it appears so by what was shown. The reporter had thought he had seen a body of a female when he was looking around while talking and had become overwhelmed with emotion during that segment. Shortly after the segment ended, the reporter looked back to where the "body" was laying and noticed multiple individuals coming up to the girl laying on the ground. The camera man zoomed in on the girl laying down and quickly discovered she was alive and was only injured. (Injuries are not noticeable) For whatever reason, this information was left out of the presentation and the video had been cut before that part was shown. Not sure why the person who put the presentation together decided to leave this big bit of information out, but it's very misleading. The full length unedited version of that live broadcast is here on UA-cam.
