I have learnt all of a sudden that these lectures are undergraduate lectures. Do you have a master's program lecture and thanks
Why this lecture cannot download now
This is one of the courses weakly offered at our university of Juba
Thank you for this valuable lecture. I'm benefiting a lot.
I'm a student of international relations at university of Juba - South Sudan.
PLEASE ADD SUBTITLEEEEEES REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
merci de prof Rbert GLOVEV sur l´sus de feminist
Many Thanks Prof. I am a year 3 student majoring in international relations. I am from Southeast Asia. My school's curriculum doesn't include introduction to IR, world history and IR theories until I met a senior who graduated from another uni. No wonder I have no idea how to analyze world events. THEREFORE, here I am. So I am in the first semester of year 3 and I decided to self study on subjects above. I found your lectures are very helpful. I am so grateful and fortunate to find your channels. 😊I am not really good at English either. So I decide to study more academic vocabulary, read and write more.
A state doesn't just spawn from thin air. Wasn't the "state" of Israel created from an existing nation, Palestine? Also, how does colonialism impact the establishment of an independent state?
Brilliant podcast
Great video! Loved the zombie bit.
Great lecture!
The presentation is quite good
merci d´mon un grands prof Robert Glover
merci a Robert Glover
Is this an update to 273 from eight years ago? Did this lecture replace another one?
One lecturer, Vinay Lal, said Development is like Genocide, just slower. It leaves certain groups out until they become so poor and pushed to the side of state related issues that they are like less than human.
This was awesome. I was wondering what would happen if a bunch of investors pulled out of a country’s currency, and there was already the example of the Thai Baht. Thanks for highlighting that.
This lecture in particular would be cool to hear updated to 2024 since so much has happened; e.i. Brexit, immigration crisis in France, etc
ikkkkkkk so true!!!!!!!!!!
Merci d´mon premier prof en le PO sur cette planete je sure que tu es mes reel prof d´m. Robert Glover
One good example of a constructivist argument that I just thought of is how a state can commit atrocities in a socially acceptable manner. Nowadays, if a state wants to commit atrocities they simply need say such and such a group of people is a terrorist organization or is harboring terrorists. That way, other powerful countries are more likely to look the other way or even silently commend the atrocities being done rather than shun the abuser.
I think positivism is a good place to start. Then we should start to consider other perspectives, especially clandestine economic agendas
oui , merci frere de R Glover , je ca va tu es mon grands prof ,
Members is the lecture done or we proceed to the next lecture?
Ok, I guess I'll set aside mentioning US Female Engagement Teams in Afghanistan being around since at least 2011 as I see the Cynthia Enloe clip was was from maybe about 2008. It might be that feminist theory played some part in their formation. I hope so anyway. Still, "stop the bombing" because one segment of the population would prefer it is an odd thing to say. Especially since I'm not so sure what "stop the bombing" means and I would assume all segments of the population would have preferred it when put that way. And it's hard to believe that women had/have a better life in Afghanistan before or after US presence there. At some point, application of theory has to give way to utility.
Philophers would fundamentally disagree with your use of the term, “ontology.”
thank you so much, this lecture makes me love the IR so much
