I decided to just show a quick clip of this wreck. For some reason it didn't show up on sonar until I was about 40 feet away after about 15 minutes of driving around. There was also a lot of backscatter caused by the lack of sunlight, so I spent a few more minutes very cautiously exploring it to make sure there wasn't any entanglement hazards. 0:00 start 2:44 Arrive at bottom 3:21 Shipwreck

Third shipwreck of the day while we were trying the find the wreck of the Spokane. This wreck looked like it had a few entanglement hazards, and the ROV was having a stuttering problem with the video feed, so I didn't to a thorough inspection.

We accidentally found the Seeweewana when looking for the wreck of the Spokane. I didn't spend too much time on this wreck since the upper railings looked like an entanglement hazard and I didn't want to waste too much battery since this wreck wasn't our target.

Neat, got this recommended to me and it's only a 5hr old video. Subbed.
Great vid, so fascinating. Thanks
Been looking for a video like this.. Well done. Now I get it... LOL...
What happens to the ash? I'm trying to figure out where it goes or if it's available to buy.
The Fly ash went to cement plants. Activated carbon was added to the flue gas at the air preheaters to remove mercury emissions, but this carbon also reduced the value of the ash. The bottom ash was used for gravel or as a fill material.
How deep of water?
50 feet
Any idea of the age of the wreck?
Probably around 100 years.
Did you figure out what the issue was?
I recently replaced the camera and cable. I think it might have been a loose pin in the plug.
Thank you for uploading these videos on corrosion chemistry and the information on cycle influences. Your explanations are clear and a class above the more commercial "talk to your OEM" content common on UA-cam. I have recently changed careers from oil & gas to power generation in a coal fleet. This has been a great aid to understanding and "catching up" up to the process chemistry in this context. I will be watching the rest of your channel with close attention.
Nice go at it. Thanks for sharing, and saving folks like me a lot of heart ache.
Good. l want more cours like this❤
Very interesting. Thanks for posting
I see why to ditch coal. To much Aux equipment.
38:10 Big Ass Fan!
This was great sir! Alot of history is lost but keep the history alive like this and people will remember.
That buoy marker is for the drowned car?
Is this arc from the brushes? Never seen that before!
One of the brushes didn't get clipped in all of the way. They were able to repair the rotor.
@@briantrue9930 Thank you for the answer. That was very scary indeed. I wonder how the excitation system reacted, the generator seem to have stayed on line. Was there any indication on the exciter readings?
You brought back great memories with this video! I started my career on a 300 MW coal power plant, 14 years ago!
Was this demolished due to anything other than political pressure? Seemed like a perfectly viable plant.
Good memories. Worked in the maintenance dept at the 2400MW Longannet Power Station in Scotland (picture this station times four) for 15 yrs before they shut it down and demolished it. All in the name of eco friendly energy policy. Now we are paying the highest energy prices in Europe. Absolute criminal.
Hi Brian, I'm a power engineer up in Canada. I work in a 1st class power plant and would love to have access to this software. I was wondering if this simulator is open to the public and if so where could one download it?
Informative video. Surprised this channel has such few subscriptions. Wish you used SI units though lol. Question: Getting a"Leak Detector" or "H2 Liquid Detector" alarm on the DCS. And then draining the stator and finding abnormally high volumes of water could be a sign of what is wrong with the machine? Is it related to the degassing and preservation procedure not being done correctly?
My guess would be a Hydrogen cooler leak. It may be a cooler close to the water detector. Record when the alarm comes in and how much water you drain, this would show if the problem is getting worse. The hydrogen dryer may show more moisture being removed. If the generator has a water cooled stator, the cooling water pressure should be less then the Hydrogen pressure to prevent water from leaking into the generator. Thanks for the comments,
@@briantrue9930 Thank you for your response.
How does the little compass at the top work?
I read that the N Reactor was much safer than RMBK and actually had a negative void coefficient due to also using moderation from the coolant water. The chances of a meltdown was almost impossible, because it was designed so well. It was probably the most advanced weapons reactor ever designed. It is sad the destroyed the N reactor, I think they should had preserved it in safe cold storage what a sad loss of technology. I don't feel that tearing down the building or cocooning the reactor made it any safer lol. You still have all the sludge and that is the main problem, but hopefully they can turn most of it to glass. I know when they drilled deep in the basalt, they found no contamination in the ground water. In fact, they discovered healthy living Archaea that were able to produce their own sugar without sunlight. I think it is very safe to say no radioactive waste can hurt the ground water or seep to the Columbia. It would get trapped and filtered out naturally by the rock in the earth nature always has a process. People forget Uranium comes from the earth. I think it was more of a scare tactic created by corrupt, politicians running for office the time. But it is still good they are trying to cleanup Hanford. What an interesting place.
it's already in the columbia, it already traveled to the pacific in the 90s, definitely an intriguing site but the answers arent surface deep
As a former power station operator who's operated these systems I never expected to see this video on You Tube! Good explanation of a double sealed hydrogen cooled generator sealing system. By "bad deal" he means losing seal oil on a generator will result in an explosion!
Seems like I discovered a gem of a channel
do you have the GPS or a general location of this and other wrecks you dive
Best video and explanation
you just go around and around in circles - none of this makes ANY SENSE at all... what the hell nonsense is this
This is by far the most detailed and accurate power plant tour video on the internet, he goes into a ton of detail that a lot of other more... consumer oriented videos would just gloss over for simplicity.
skill issue
It makes perfect sense, I had no problem following it at all.
I would give credit to him, just for the effort to bring out this video. The subject is difficult in its nature, I believe you understand that. People related to this job will agree, it is hard to condense all that info in an hour long clip, without losing track. It's a highly specialised subject, not suitable for beginners or general UA-cam viewers. Don't get me wrong, not trying to be offensive here...
Happy new year!
That has to be the crustiest looking thing I have ever seen.
nice vid, nice technical detail and 😀relaxing voice tone
Good videos
With the two 12V71TT diesel generators are those just for emergency power or is this a black start capable plant?
Those are just for emergency power if the plant goes black. This plant isn't black start capable.
This is amazing, my god
Awesome
thank you 🙏
I have wonder what was down there. The water was blue and beautiful. Goes 359 feet below sea level. Fish and caught trout, and salmons.
very impressed with a 1981 coal power station in such a good condition.
Hello there, thank you for your very educational videos! You might get this question a lot but is the simulation software you are using available for private purchase or is it limited to company use only?
This simulator was contracted as a training aid for the control room employees at a specific power plant, and uses the exact same graphics and DCS logic that the real control system used. The company that made it might sell to private individuals, but I would be surprised if a simulator of this quality cost less than a million dollars to develop.
Thanks for the video. Nice to see you getting out of the house. For all the cash you spent on sonar it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Shame about fertilizer runoff making the water so algae-obscured. I'm really going to have to get my pontoon boat built so i can go on an excursion with you. Oddmar
Almost a century after it burned and parts of it still exist
Tell me what you think, but it seems to me like the Lake Chelan maps(side view) they sell are inaccurate. They depict the bottom of the Lucerne Basin to be soft and rounded. My research shows that this basin looks sharp and jagged as if the two sides of the lake have been ripped apart. What are your thoughts? When I look at the top down view on Google maps it shows sharp stair step ledges. Yet the maps sold are drawn with no sharp drop off’s. I am interested to hear your perspective after diving with your rover. Great content! Thanks for sharing.
the N Reactor is the closest thing in the West to the Soviet RMBK, both are "light" water-cooled Graphite Moderated reactors with positive void coefficants (which I suspect is a necessary evil for duel purpose reactors, as the RMBKs were also designed to refine Plutonium to weapon's grade levels, though the RBMKs never actually got to do so)
i would love to see another underwater drone video. maybe of the snake river and you could see a sturgeon!
I can't find the raw video that this was from. I watched it along time ago but now i cant find it.
I made it unlisted to try go get people to watch this video instead since it's such a big improvement. You should still be able to find the original in my "Power Plant Videos" playlist, or here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/q34TvvkrQcQ/v-deo.html
My dad brought us here to camp when I was 5 and a sheriff showed up the next day and kicked us out saying there was a bunch of cars at the bottom 🤷
I was specifically avoiding the car pile since it could be an entanglement hazard with the ROV tether. I went diving there once before: ua-cam.com/video/6pcnL_si7pU/v-deo.html
I took my drone there and got liscense plates of 5 vehicles. 1 was brand new complete with oil slick above about a month ago. I had no idea these were already known about.
Great content!!
