Drumheller sounds way better than the Edmonton remand center! Soup days people would give me their soup because it was so starchy, I wasn't picky and appreciated the extra calories. They only give you enough calories to survive as a way to force you to buy from the canteen, they cut as many corners as possible to maximize profits. Once a week we got ice cream but on sundays we only got two meals so I usually saved a brick and fruit on saturday so I wasn't so hungry.

Thank you, trying to find out if it is the same as in the US. Except here the documents are harder to find out, so I thought. We are looking at someone with bad charges remanded to Edmonton. Technically I thought automatic PC. But if they found out the persons charges, not looking good. At least it helps feeling more prepared for possible trouble for him.

Bro I'd rather do tuna casserole day than eat ANY of the shit they served in Maplehurst or the Don Jail in Toronto. Like in there, breakfast was usually soggy pancakes that had been barely warmed up with dry toast, expired milk, and cereal that had no flavor, lunch and dinner usually consisted of moldy bread and a tasteless mess of soggy veggies, lumpy mashed potatoes, and a piece or two of this fatty grizzly meat that I never learned the name of but the guys would always call it "mystery meat." The COs would also bring in takeout food from places like Chick Fil A and eat it in front of us while we were sleeping just to piss us off. Be grateful you went to a bin where they treated u guys like human begins, because any kind of provincial jail or pre-trial custody jail like the Don, they treat us like animals in there and I wouldn't wish that shit on my worst enemy

That's what most of the lifers on my range told people they were closest to before they went away. "I'm going on vacation" was their way of saying to people like their younger sisters or cousins that they going away and never coming back. The lifers would even joke about it with each other and guys like me who knew we were getting out knew this was their way of keeping from going crazy. We also knew to stay the hell out of those convos to avoid getting a certain visit to our cells if you know what I mean

When I was locked up in Fenbrook, as well as during my time in Maplehurst and the Don Jail in Ontario, you weren't allowed to smoke, but nobody gave a shit, because everyone knew that the guards or the COs as we called them could be bribed to do almost anything except get a gun for an inmate. They didn't make big salaries then and they don't now, and it became especially tempting for them when the mandem offered to pay them 3 times what bogies and other items like that were actually worth. Also keep in mind that a prison is like a big pressure cooker, and there have to be vents installed in certain places to let out steam if you know what I mean. The COs know this too, so yeah, they make the occasional bust and send the odd guy to the hole here and there, but when it comes to something as trivial as guys smoking on range, they almost always look the other direction, because they know otherwise someone will carve them a brand new mouth right above the Adams Apple

One thing nobody ever really talks about in regards to piss tests is your parole officer can make no drinking and no smoking shit like bogies or loud as part of ur parole conditions and the piss test can see if you've been smoking that shit as well. I once had my parole suspended for several months simply because my PO made no drinking and no smoking as part of my parole conditions, and I've been a heavy smoker for years, so of course I failed my first piss test and they sent me right back to the bin. Luckily for me I don't drink, as I just never developed a taste for it, and I never touch any hard drugs like coke or meth or fenty, so the judge took all that into account and gave me just a slap on the wrist for my first offence
