Gemini is ruled by Mercury and this sign is dominated by RAJO GUNA or mode of passion as per the hints given in BPHS. So, Gemini is a Rajasik sign according to it. You can go to the description and read the interpretation of Rajo Guna. Another Rashi ruled by Mercury, is Virgo and Virgo ♍ is predominated by Tamo guna (mode of ignorance) as per BPHS. Even I didn't think houses until I started using the houses in varga then the predictions come out correct using Dasha. Using planet in main rashi didn't help pinpoint as in varga. Read Shesh Iyer book on varga and start testing it.
