You are right about the last two carpets, blue and last. The blue carpet is easy to tell that it is a machine made because the fringe, border and regular of knots are clearly defined. The last carpet cannot be Persian due to reasons such as its very thick design and low variety of colors! Thank you for the good information you give to people ❤️

You said the signature cannot be read. right The signature should be easy to read and I, who am in Iran and can read Farsi and know about the signatures can tell you that the person who recorded the signature in the picture you showed probably did not know Farsi. A sign that your carpet may be Chinese maybe! Be careful because the signature must be recognizable 😊

I used to have a Persian rug and you are right. I cut off the fringe because they do deteriorate. Each rugged at that overtime. I had bought them all second hand or had them given to me.

Hi! Thank you for these videos. Last year I visited Side (Turkey) and in the Old-Town bazaar I found a shop with carpets. I didn't plan to buy anytjing, but was curious simply. So when I entered, the seller started to get up, planed to walk to me... and then I flipped the first and closest rug (as you in the videos) and he immediatelly sat back. :DD I think you can guess why! ;) Yes, the carpet was machine-made.

I don't understand why they're cheaper because I have a pakistani bukhara and it feels amazing quality. It's so much better than my turkish rugs

Although Master Fatollah Habibian passed away in 1995, his nephew took over the workshop. Thus, the production of Habibian rugs is still ongoing, and the signature is still being used legitimately.

In my opinion for investment, Qum rugs made before 2010 would be a good bet.

Hi Mike I really likle and value your videos about Persian carpets. Over the years I've bought some rugs on a modest budget, including older Belouchi pieces that I love for their authentic tribal roots. These older pieces can still be found if you do your research. I've also collected a number of bags which are furniture for nomadic people. I would love it if you can do a video on these lovely rugs.
