I released this album the night before my admission to a psychiatric clinic (for the third time wOoooOOoh YeeAaAH) I made these songs during the build up to my admission, and their themes reflect where i was emotionally (not great lol). They're all upbeat sounding but pretty sad. Working on every one of these songs gave me some emotional relief and catharsis from what I have been experiencing, ...

In the world of improv comedy, Dan Harmon is a true visionary, and his work on "Harmontown" is nothing short of revolutionary. So next time you find yourself in need of a good laugh, just remember sometimes, all it takes is a shoe and a little bit of imagination to brighten your day.

I was also shocked by the fact that 80% of your one off references were things I knew and loved. Audibly cackled at a few parts. Hope to see more of your videos in the future!

I think you give Jack Horner too much credit. He's really just a psychopath. I think with Kitty, you may be missing the message. She was very distant and refused to grow close to anyone because she feared betrayal, and as the map showed, she was bitter and lonely because she had no one to rely on. She had to learn to forgive and to be willing to get close to someone again, even with the risk of betrayal. She was acting out of fear, and once she learned Puss only betrayed her out of fear, she began to understand. With that, and his apparent change in behavior, she was able to forgive him. I think the overall moral is that you can't let fear of betrayal keep you from attachment. You have to have the courage to risk it, otherwise you'll be just as if not more miserable.

  • @FlameJackstar

Thank you for giving Jack Horner some credit. I had the same thoughts, and found it a bit unfair that everybody just labeled him as the unredeemable villain. I mean, at the time of the movie, he pretty much is. But he grew into this envious person due to the lack of good parenting or other people in his life, that could act as a moral compass. He states later in the movie, that he had loving parents. But I doubt that, he probably mistook them giving him toys for distraction as 'love'. He learned this lesson as a young boy, that, no matter what he does, he'll never be as cool as something/someone that is magic. And Magic is cool to him, or at least tries to impress others with how cool the magic is he aquired. Unicorn horns? Cool! Excalibur? Still pretty cool. Magic snacks? Cool! He has no parents, no friends, no wife or kids. He doesn't have anyone but himself, and expendable employees that fear him. The other two groups, that went after the star, were able to learn a lesson about themselfes. That their desire could be fulfilled, "no magic required." He had no chance to learn this lesson.

THERAPY. IS. NOT. FOR. EVERYONE. i went to therapy ONCE and my therapist was terrible. i showed him a drawing I made and his response was "you didn't make that." and insisted that i didn't make it bc it's too good for someone like me. he also was late for my session because he let another patient use my first 30 minutes, didn't remember anything i told him, judged me when i cried, and kept pushing me to talk even though i had social anxiety and was extremely nervous around new people. this all happened over the corse of 3 sessions, and I had to beg my mom to stop taking me. therapy is NOT always the answer and made things worse in my Case.

I’m sorry you had such a negative experience in therapy :< and yeah true, psycho-therapy isn’t for everyone. Some people just don’t jell with it. The first therapist I went to was at 14, and I didn’t like it at all. My parents forced me to go, and it didn’t fix anything, so eventually I just asked to stop going. However, when I turned 17 I was struggling really really bad and wanted to try therapy again, and this time I found a therapist who was perfect for me, and everything just clicked. I struggle to find words for how much it helped me, I don’t think I would be here today if it wasn’t for their direct assistance, and I still feel absolutely privileged to have found such amazing help. I don’t mean to diminish your painful experience at all, if I were in your position i would also be incredibly hesitant to throw my hat in the ring again. But I wouldn’t necessarily swear off all therapy forever because you were assigned the single shittiest therapist of all time, tho I understand the inclination to. But even if it’s not therapy, I hope you find something that helps <3

I feel like the film resonates differently now than it would have had in a pre-Covid world, where I think it still would have been well received, but depression, suicide, and awareness of our own mortality and the mortality of those around us, saw a major spike from 2020 into '21 and we're only now just starting to emerge from it and I think this factored into how many of us interpreted it. Puss in the first ten minutes defeating a bunch of armed guards and a giant with ridiculous ease could just as well have been all of us in 2019 and the first couple months of 2020 just living our lives and thinking nothing bad could ever happen only to get bodied by reality - i.e. a global Pandemic and harbinger of death and destruction - just like Puss gets bodied by Lobo Muerte and sent running. And like the rest of us in the first 6 months to a year, Puss basically goes "in lockdown" - "staying home," hiding from death, gaining weight and facial hair, losing all track of time, etc. I'm not saying its allegorical but I think the world situation is caked into why many of us have responded to it so emotionally. For instance, during the pandemic and lockdowns I, personally, rescinded back into a depression I had long since thought to have overcome (and I wasn't even directly affected in the way that others had been). Hearing the phrases "I will never stop fighting for THIS life" and the question "maybe one life is enough?" had a kind of power that I don't think can actually be put into words

Yeah, I feel as though Kitty never really changed when she boldly assumed Puss betrayed her trust yet again by taking the map for himself and witnessing him make his last wish when he was really running away from Death in the Cave of Lost Souls and only preparing to make the wish out of fear of Death instead of the fear of no longer being the 'legend'. Then when Puss finally admits that Death was after him and that was what he was running from, she doesn't believe him at first, thinking he's just being dramatic and only saying it out of desperation for forgiveness until she witnesses his final confrontation with Death for herself where Puss decides to step up and fight for the one life he has (after hearing some wise words from Perrito, who only ever had one life himself) instead of wishing for his previous eight lives back, knowing Death would only come to kill him another nine times over if he did. It does seem that Kitty has an inner struggle with trust issues she needs to overcome on her own instead of taking them all out on Puss (Santa Coloma being the tip of the iceberg therefore, deciding all of those said issues stemmed from that one incident).

I watched Bocchi as a form of escapism, as a sort of fantasy journey with me in her shoes, experiencing growth and improvement vicariously through her...only to finish the last episode and return to the reality that I am still pre-episode-one Bocchi. Or really, I am the "possible future Bocchi" where she drops out of school and holes herself up in her room with booze and laments the loss of her friends in the band...but you know, minus the booze, because i can't afford it without a job...
