A new type of homage oil forge. Bottom Feed Vapor Burner.
This is the first prototype of a forge design I've never seen before. While the principle of operation is nothing new. I've never seen it used to make a forge before and hopefully there will be some advantages to this design.

    Hi! If your interested in using plaster Paris as a nozzle, I recommend checking out my channel. It’s all about test firing rocket motors with plaster Paris nozzles and end caps. I have done 1 inch, 2 inch and 3 inch rocket motors using this method. TIP: next time, put in the plaster directly into the metal tube you are using, so there is no risk of it popping out like it did in this video. Im currently finding out solutions for making the plaster Paris stronger,a and a few solutions I found was using glue and ash to create a higher density and less brittle solution. Im currently creating a 4” diameter rocket motor using rocket candy as fuel, a cardboard shipping tube that is 0.15 thick as a insulator, and a Aluminium 6061 T6 tube that fits snuggly into the other tube. The Aluminium tube keeps the motor together from rapid disassembly and holds the psi. I will be making a video on it soon. Good luck!

      @@GamerPro132 I honestly don't know if they do or not, but it dries as basically glass and is extremely heat resistant. I know that people grind, then pound kitty litter nozzles into rcandy rockets, but I'm not sure if the pressure from your hexamine fuel would be too high for that.

    I've done some recent testing with clay and grog nozzles in APCP motors and found that mallet ramming doesn't work very well, if you don't clobber the absolute crap out of the rammer and have something to keep the case from splitting they erode pretty badly, but I did find that adding a small amount of epoxy (clear casting resin) dissolved in acetone helps a lot with that and rams a lot more easily, it seems the epoxy helps with the flow characteristics and locks everything together. I added about 10 mils of clear epoxy resin dissolved in 10 mils of acetone to roughly thirty grams of clay/grog/paraffin nozzle mix and stirred the crap out of it, then did a few cycles of heating until the cup was hot and immediately putting it in a vacuum pot (a $60 ebay pump works fine) to remove all the acetone until the smell was gone, then rammed it with a lead mallet followed by clamping it tight in a bar clamp while it cures sitting over a heat gun. The result is a glass smooth (as smooth as your rammer anyway lol) rock hard nozzle that seems to erode a lot less with a smoother internal surface. I'm going to experiment with adding graphite to it as well, a moldable graphite composite nozzle would be amazing.

    Very cool and makeshift :) How much did you get from it? Just one thing though, the electrodes are suuuper far apart here, I bet barely any current is getting through. Make them a little closer to make the cell way more efficient.

    • @GamerPro132
      @GamerPro132 Рік тому

      I've been getting plenty of yield from it. I actually have a bunch of chlorate in the bottom of the cup rn that I haven't bothered pouring out because I allready have enough for a few more rocket firings stockpiled.

    • @TheFireGoose
      @TheFireGoose Рік тому

      @@GamerPro132 that’s good :) I guess they weren’t too far apart then. You could always move them closer to increase efficiency though. Also how are the electrodes holding up? I know that most platinum electrodes you can buy online especially on eBay are a little bit sketch. By that I mean they add an insanely small amount of platinum and call it a day, which obviously means they won’t last very long. To check if they are ok look for purple/grey dots on the electrodes, if they are dotty then they are damaged most likely.

    I've been playing with melt cast ammonium perchlorate/hexamine lately, it's amazing how much power hexamine can provide as a fuel. I like the flames and sparks that comes from burning loose fuel, it's quite pretty. That looked like a great burn, and like everyone else has mentioned a burn rate catalyst will take these rockets to the next level, 1-2% red iron oxide is a good place to start.
