They have to save the crown guard for the luminor. The radiomir to me is more of a dress watch. Definitely vintage styling and not a boring diver. I love it!
I think after complaints of the black bay thickness they put on a flat crystal instead of domed and moved the face closer to the crystal. They did something similar with the new Chrono and why the BB Chrono is thinner than the Breitling with the same movement.
If you want the same look but a proper 300m water resistance, go for a pre-ownerd PAM00380 - you get the OP II movement with 56 hours of power reserve instead of 70 but you get the screwed case back. Oh and it won't hack, but runs at 21,600 vph. And it has a sandwich dial....
@@Bgeorge430 yes but with less water resistance and a clip on case back. Mine is still in like new condition. 🤷🏼♂️ another benefit is that every watchmaker can service the watch and not only Panerai. But to each their own.
@@koolpep This seems to be a common a misconception. Panerai made significant changes to the Unitas/ETA movements. I know a number of people who thought it was easily servicable and then had to send it to Panerai after all because of non-standard parts that needed to be replaced.
The case back is a snap-in, just like the PAM753. Yes, snap in, just like those dressy ultra thin Patek Calatrava, but on a watch with Diving and military use history. Oh, even the Luminor Base Logo 3 days also has a snap in case back... and built in signature crown guards that is supposedly to enhance water resistance. The irony lol.

Tudor used that same movement, in the fxd and it is 12mm thick.

Then you have an old banged up watch with 300 m of water resistance. Great. I’ll take the new watch.

47mm is the original Panerai DNA, regardless of what dial layout you have.
