It's raised up 12', nothing zero mechanicals on the first floor just garage and outdoor storage, it has a diesel generator and second floor emergency battery pack, a retractable staircase and emergency ladder, a completely tied in-steel strapped roof, concrete floors steel reinforced and many other protective features and insurance companies LOVED the design and would reduce insurance by 69%. Not a single builder or developer or community or home purchaser wanted anything to do with the extra cost which saved taxpayers billions. So does everyone feel sorry for people building homes in a hurricane flood zone???
