Idiot! What a very stupid comment. It's a triubute, a musical. A massive compliment. More to the point, it was beautifully done. As her family also agreed with apparently!

Why is this necessary, really upsetting honesty, not real, supper lame let her life be what it was and stop trying to relive it and live your own life. If you spent have as much time trying to recreate her life and instead just tried being interesting yourselves I might give a flying hoot.

The play and music is not a true reflection of Eva's voice or character. Quite insulting as a tribute and not very much insight into the true nature of Eva's legacy. You missed the boat on this one entirely.

this actress portraying Eva does have a good voice, and is not competing with Eva's voice (because no one can compare with her) and I suppose to do a musical show, there had to be a stagey feel as with any live musical. But how can you ever pay tribute to a voice that was perfect, by staging a play? Eva's music speaks for itself - no immitation can come close

I love eva cassidy and I love that you're trying to remember her great legacy and out of this world voice. However, I feel that in musical form is almost a little campy and trying to find someone to play her is just asking for unwanted comparisons because she set the bar so high.

Is there a feature film in the works anytime soon?

@eclectica1 While i really wish they would have held onto her, she has a pretty solid thing going herself, and the Ash 3 piece is doing quite well the A-Z series was awesome along with Twilight of the Innocents, looks to me, like things worked out for both parties, i wouldn't say its "their loss." same for her. Also, while they did suggest asking her to leave, it was a mutual feeling she wanted too in the first place.

Why would you guys say such horrible things? This appears to be Eva's story told by family members. Myer58's comment is just plain cruel. Eva was an angel and I am interested in finding out all I can about her and her sad story.

I must admit that Faye is a really good singer, but nothing close to the passionate and authentically emotional song performances that Eva gave us. One thing Eva never had to rely on was the sultriness that Faye's performance may have called for visually to sell tickets to this show. I can see how other vocal fans as myself would be disappointed by the casting choice and musical direction of this tribute. Like trying to carry off copying Stairway to Heaven, never try to emulate Eva.

I agree Faye is far too nasal with little softness in her voice. Just saw this starring Sarh Jane Buckley. She was perfect for the part and got the voice down to a a T

Swa this the other night with Sarah Jane Buckley playing Eva. While Faye Tozer sounds good, Sarah really nails her vocals and sounds much more like Eva.
