Been there, done that. It's an optical illusion. The trees are all growing skew due to wind, so the ground level looks like it's sloping downwards where it's supposed to be sloping upwards. And that creates the illusion in your mind.

The Pretoria version of this show in September was really insightful and worth spending my Saturday time. That show was definitely better organised than the 2023 version.

By far not the first 4x4 show in the Western Cape. Been going for years at other locations in the Cape... Was there and this was not nearly as good as the other 4x4 shows. Event organisers missed a few things i.e. good directions to the parking gate, redirect, redirect... Too few 4x4 / camping exhibitions. Several irrelevant stands. There was a perfume stand at a 4x4 event. Can you believe it. Food court was low on quality options and it was "miles" "away" from the seating. My goodness, you should have seen the busted gazebo of the one food vendor. No quality control. Walking surface at 4x4 exhibitions really unpleasant. Concept is great combined with an airshow but they need professional event organisers and more investment. Would like to see a better expo next year with more airshow.

What a total waste of time! The location could have been better, with few directions on where to go and park. The ground was uneven, with grass not attended to correctly (long and strands your foot hooks on). As a semi-disabled person, it was hell. There were no places to rest. (There was no seating around the cold drink stall or between the exhibitors.) It was a total waste of time and money. Luckily, Gareth from "Mild to Wild" offered me a chair to rest.

Was there on Sunday, what a great setup! Hope this is the 1st of many to come.

What an amazing museum...my late Grandfather was stationed there till his retirement as I think a Senior Warrant Officer. His name was Charlie Northcote. My Dad and his brother grew up on Wingfield. I believe my grandpa worked primarily on the Shackletons. Thanks to all the volunteers that keep this amazing museum going😊
