Does this need to ba ran through a separate amp? Or does it have its own amp and can be plugged into a speaker cabinet or be used with just headphones?
Thank you for these demo videos. I have just bought a Valeton gp 200 and so far have just tried the factory presets and put together 4 patches of my own, 3 clean, 1 distorted. The sensitivity in the adjustments is amazing and I am confident that I can get the tones I am after.
Glad the videos helped you out. Yes, the GP-200 is fantastic. So many options. You will love it. Thanks so much for the kind words.
Hey man never did get your name, though not as experienced on guitar as yourself(drummer first) I have never seen or heard of that string wiggling method? wow! I use 'Big Bends Nut Sauce' on my Takamine acoustic and did on my Epi Les Paul BUT I had the nut filed better and rarely need it now. My Fazley Tele has a bone nut HUGE diff and reliable! How about you react to me playing with distortion and trying to control it LOL! 🤣
I go by the name G.K. Mack. I actually have a 2nd channel that I do livestreams on & put out 2 shorts a week. ua-cam.com/users/gkmackmusic I also have original material there. I never heard of the string wiggle method either. Ya, getting a professional Guitar tech/luthier to work on the nut is the best option. I have never used Nut Sauce lol. Sorry, the 14yr old in me had to laugh at that lol The one thing I usually do with cheap Guitars is install locking tuners & a bone nut. It does make a TON of difference. I'm sure you control your distortion just fine. Give yourself more credit. Thanks as always for the support & kind words. It means a lot.
Next time work on the loop a little more, I think it would make you sound better over all. You sound good though.
😆
the best multi efects pedals in the world for 300 ish bucks.
I would have to agree with you on that. Thanks for watching/commenting.
Thank you for reintroducing the dry tone, the "with", "without" provided a great base line (or bass line, lol) for understanding how this shapes tone and attack. Great review!
Thanks so much for the kind words. Glad you got some value out of this video.
Haha, funny, from 2:11, I listen but not looking to the screen, then I realize there is likely a robot talking repeating ... 😛
Lol, no just me talking trying to be clear.
Oh, just another question! Is this the Burlywood or Transparent Yellow?
I actually not sure lol It's a natural stain with high gloss
Hi!!! Not gonna lie! I have a Fender Jazz Bass, another Japanese one, a Johnson and another couple. I wanted to ask you about this Glarry. Is the neck exactly as a Jazz Bass one? Is it any good for touring? Looks gorgeous!
Neck is not just like a Jazz Bass. Body & pickups are. I actually replaced the neck on it. I don't see why you couldn't tour with it. It's extremely light.
Can you go straight into a small amp?
Absolutely. It has a left & right 1/4 inch outputs.
I had this 6 string. Sounds and feels amazing.
Awesome Bass for sure.
How awkward would this be to set on the floor and play with your feet?? Im from windsor and i know you use to do lots of this kind of performing right?
It would be pretty akward. I put it on a stand & use sticks.
Hey pal that is a cracking bass! I look forward to your full review of it. Yes Harley Benton are making some fab guitars and basses for little money. I've seen many videos on this site alone. Congrats on what did you say your 5th HB? 😉 👍
Oh ya. For sure. Yep 5th. Harley is killing it these days.
Amazing little thing. Great react video. Thanks for sharing!
Seems like a great little unit. Thanks for the kind words & watching.
Great vid, as usual! Thanks! Does the "Zoom B1 Four" have a headphone and balanced line out ?
Yes. Single input, single output. The output can be used a a headphone output.
Loved the comparative video. I just have one question. Does the Zoom B1 Four also allow for controlling the intensity, duration, and depth of each reverb-setting? Thanks again for your informative videos! 🙏😁
Not totally. What you see for the settings in the software interface screenshot is what you get. That's all, but it does give enough options.
@@MUSICIANGeeK Thanks for your reply! 😁I might still go for the Zoom B2 Four. Just wondering if it has a more sturdy casing. since it was built for live gigging too...🤔 I can also get an additional presence pedal later...
Actually thanks you quite a bit. I actually got a Ampero II stomp for my Bass setup. Because I wanted dual amping/parallel processing. I have a couple of stereo Basses now, & wanted something that could utilize that. I thought I didn't have enough space left over for the ZOOM, so I took it out. I LOVE the Synth sounds the ZOOM has, & the Ampero has no usable Synth sounds. When you asked me some questions, it caused me to pull it out & fire it up to check, then I noticed that I CAN fit in a small spot in between my 2 pedal boards. I use it now just for the Synth sounds. Right into the FX loop for the Ampero Stomp. So, without your questions, that would or not happened, so again, thank you!!!
@@MUSICIANGeeK Gotto love it when those things happen!!! ❤😁
For sure!!!
I’m planning to buy this, can you use acoustic cab or sim and low the volume from the volume knob of cab or effect? I wanna use a little bit of acoustic cab effect but I think the volume knob is gonna drop the master volume
Yes, you can absolutely do that & adjust the amounts of cab sim. For sure.
Straight to the point.
Why not lol
Thumbs up.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Let 'er RIP! Damn!
Thanks
This video is perfect. I have a Valeton GP 200 arriving this week and have a gig this weekend. I even also play a Takamine G series. I can always fall back on my Boss AD-8, but would love to use the Valeton as an all around live processor.
I love it. It works great for all of my electrics, & Acoustics. I have 22 instruments these days, & have patches for all of them on this unit. Electric, Acoustic, or Bass. This thing hits it out of the park on all of them. You are going to love it. If you don't like the factory presets, its easy to get a sound you like from scratch. Just takes some time to dial it all in.
@@MUSICIANGeeK Awesome. It really seems that way. When I saw it has an acoustic preamp I got pretty excited. I love the idea that I can run electric, acoustic, and bass through one rig - and not even a pedalboard with a bunch of cables running everywhere (which I have done).
@@ekims_echoes I get it, & have done/am doing it lol
D tuned bass I meant detuned is that a low B? That's a cool looking and sounding LP what make is that? I think I need a looper in my DAW it would help me get ideas going better the built in drummer drives me apesh.t lol. 👍
Bass is a 5 String with a Low B string yes. The LP copy is a Lyx Pro. Loopers are awesome. I love them.
The little Whippersnapper Ellen is the Queen of Funk !!
She is awesome
And price wise - it will be inbetween the kemper and the tonex I guess - so basicly 499/599 - its still neural dsp.
Sounds about right lol
@@MUSICIANGeeK Haha yeah, also Tonex btw gets an update this month adding 2 fx blocks addtionaly - witch delay/phaser/flanger/chrous and some others basics.
@@dynamicdissonance4016 Now they are really upping there game with adding more effects. Tonex was always just about the amp profiling/modeling. Now it sounds like they want to be in the all in one fx/amp profiling/modeling category also.
You can sure hammer away on the bass....nice.
Thanks for the kind words. Just having fun with it.
THE best B1 Four review.
Glad you enjoyed it & thanks again for the kind words.
Excelent demo, and very nice sound .... how about the neck ? I't's comfortable ? what's the wide ?
It's fantastic. Love this Bass. Neck is a bit thicker, but it works. Feels awesome. Super fast.
Thanks !!!! I'm thinking in a 5 string bass and the sound of this one is awesome, are you playing factory strings? How about a flatwound strings for this bass? what do you think?
@@nnn-gn4fo Factory strings, & setup. Filmed right out of the box after the unboxing video. The factory strings were Nickle round wound. That's all I know about them. I had a setup done on it, & has a small "just for my preference" modification made to the controls. It has 2 volumes. 1 for each coils of the humbucker so you can do coil splitting, & a master tone control. I had my tech re wire it with 1 master volume, 1 master tone, & a 3 was switch to go between both coil splits & the humbucker mode. That was just for my preference. I do that to Jazz basses also. I tend to want 1 master volume, but that's just me. I use Nickle round wounds on it & I love it. I'm not a flatwound guy myself. I like players that use them, but it's not for me. I like a brighter Bass tone. I think it would sound awesome with flatwounds on it. It's an awesome Bass.
ccool review!
Glad you enjoyed it
108$ Canadian holy shit! When is the next unboxing video coming out?
Nothing that cheap again for quite some time. I have a few others still to come.
Looks good and sounds good. What’s not to like?
That & only $108 Canadian. Great buy!!!
Awesome
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Is this with Fretless and double bass sound like the one in gp200?
I can't remember lol, but I do have videos that feature every single sound in both units. Checkout my Bass videos for the GP-200 on this channel.
Just by it!
I know right lol
I bought one of these for like $50 and used the hack to change out the onboard effects to use it with my guitar. I'm getting ready to pick up a bass, so I'll probably load it back up with all bass effects.
Great little unit. It served me quite well.
Thanks for the great reaction video!
WOW!!! I AM A HUGE FAN!!! I never though you would of even seen this video, yet alone liked it & commented. Especially with the size of your channel, & how small mine is. Thanks so much for absolutely making my day!!! Ellen, YOU & your Dad ROCK!!! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
You're lucky you did not dis my grl, I was a subscriber of her's before you! you took my line just get 1 you know you want do.
Who could possibly have a single bad word to say about Ellen?!?! Been a subscribe of hers for quite a long time. She's awesome. If I had room for that little Bass, I would get one. Running out of room lol
I’ve been using one of these on stage for 3 years it’s still like new ,might be plastic but it is rugged
Seems like it. Just replaced it with a Ampero 2 stomp. Now I can do dual amping/Bi amping. Solid unit. Love the Synth sounds in the Zoom stuff.
@@MUSICIANGeeK I like the Sansamp patch and at a fraction of the cost
@@lucybarney1 Absolutely. I always say, even if you only like 1-3 sounds, its worth the price.
Another snazzy looking guitar. Congrats! I almost got one of these BUT opted for a Fazley Tele instead coming from Holland to Canada, it cost me in shipping but I have a lovely guitar with a finish like few others its looks sorta green in daylight and grey under home lighting. I'm very happy with it. 👍
Awesome. Hey, there are so many awesome guitars these days. It's almost option overload. Great time to be a Guitar player
That's a beautiful guitar! It sounds great too what's not to love? Do you get to keep this one? as I know they often send stuff to be reviewed or used to.
Yes it is beautiful. I purchased this, much like all of the gear on this channel so far, with the exception on the Valeton GP-200. I actgotva partnership with them, & they sent me one that I was able to keep. In still quite a small channel. Just got to 1802 subs. I am far to small to have companies sending me gear. Valeton was a suprise.
Who needs a band when you got a fully co-operative rhythm section ready to go at any time of the day or night( done with bands here). Sounds great pal! 👍👍
Thanks. Yes, bands can be a issue. Very time consuming, & hard to make everyones schedule work. That's why I just do the looping.
Hey I love you’re adding on this video as it gives another take. I’m currently going mad trying to figure out what to get out of all the amp modellers. I’m just looking to jam with it, heavy hi gain and clean amp, playing from 7 string and hoping for good tones to try out and have a couple effects and pitch shift to down tube guitar for multiple Tuningsc nothing too crazy . Just learning about all the is stuff and wondering on shifting from my invective/tube amps to something digital. Out of all the full sizes and small ones out on the market… what would you recommend? Thank you!

Many of these sound like they're meant forin-store demo: not quite musical, but each one provides a unique pallet, and you exploited each quite well.
Much like any of these units, not all sounds are gre3at, but there are more than enough good sounds to justify the purchase.
It doesn’t have a standby feature, how do you shut it off?
So when I have this unit, I would have it as always on. For the amp sims. If you wanted to bypass create a blank patch, & bank to that. That's all you can do.
@@MUSICIANGeeK Other than that, I love it. It actually has more than enough effects in it.
@@joedecker3900 Oh ya. Great unit. Just limited with the one button.
cover the pickups with tape and then cover that first layer of tape with fresh tape before you peel it off so you dont get filings magnetically suck on your pickups forever
Great tip. Thanks a bunch.
Are we really thinking we can get an Epi LP with that gorgeous top <$500? I'm very dubious.
🤷
Dang. I wanted to buy this model in purple. It seems like it was discontinued that particular day. Thinking about purchasing the Cali Hss and their 40W amp
Sorry. That sucks. It's an awesome Guitar. I dig it
HSH -the in-between positions split the humbucker so you still get close to a strat
I did not know that. I thought it just worked like a Strat pickup wise
those epiphone lp pickups are not just duncans, they are duncan P90s.
Ok, cool.
05:00 Not all Ibanez are HSH, duuh I know some of the readers are thinking that but some may not be aware of that. I have 6 Ibanez guitars and not all of them are HSH. 2011 XH300-BKF ( *HH* ), 1986 RG450-BK ( *HSH* ), 2013 S420-BK ( *HH* ), 2012 S570DXQM-TGB ( *HSH* ), 1989 RG565R-CA ( *HS* ) and the 1998 SR406-NT 6-String Bass ( *soapboxed PP* ). (And yes, I wrote all that from memory! 🤣) Love them all! And I've seen HSS, SSS & 1H configured Ibanez too. My favorite three are my S420-BK, S570DXQM-TGB, and my RG565R-CA. 08:00 Fender/Squier Strats. I have 11 of them, all but 3 are Strats. However I think Darrell is aiming at the traditional styled Strats with a vintage tremelo or hardtail with pickguard mounted SSS electronics. So that cuts the group down to just nine (including one HSS): 2000 Fender Starcaster S1 Strat ( *SSS* ), 1992 Fender Mexican Standard Stratocaster ( *SSS* ), 2010 Fender Japanese J-Craft Standard Stratocaster *1H,* 2021 Squier FSR Bullet Stratocaster HT ( *SSS* ), 2003 Squier SE Stratocaster ( *SSS* ), 2007 Fender Starcaster S2 Strat ( *SSS* ), 2008 Squier Standard Stratocaster ( *SSS* ), 2014 Squier Affinity Stratocaster ( *HSS* ) with a Lefty Neck, 1989 Squier II Standard Stratocaster ( *SSS* ). Mind ye a few of the above Strats will be converted to HSS and HH config. 10:00 YES, there's more than a few artists who actually professionally gigs with "low end" Squiers (Affinity, Bullets, and maybe now the Sonics and the new Debuts). I have a pair of 2021 Squier FSR Bullets, a Stratocaster HT and a Telecaster. They're decent guitars with surprisingly good stock electronics altho to be fair, many of those artist had upgraded the electronics. Something many non-professionals can more easily do, considering these guitar's lower new guitar prices. 12:00 Gretsch. WELL, you got me here. I don't have a Gretsch. BUT for a HS setup I already have two guitars. The aforementioned 1989 Ibanez RG565R-CA and a ESP LTD F-10-BK. But neither offers a P90 sound in the neck. The first has a stacked single neck and the second has a dual rail single-coil sized humbucker neck. Both utilize a more or less standard trembucker (Ibanez) or humbucker (ESP LTD) bridge. Otherwise I just use a HH LP that has independent coil splitting with a 4-pot controls with 2 p/p volume pots that coil splits it's humbucker and 2 tone pots. Altho to get that bright clear single tone I usually split the bridge pup. This option has no guarantee of giving that coveted P90 sound. Finally the last option is to utilize a SS Telecaster with a P90 neck or a SH Telecaster with a humbucker sized P90 neck. Oh I've forgotten that there's now Strat pups that has been wound and built to bring P90 style sound to the Strat. I'm trying a few as I write this. Great I just remembered seeing LPs with P90 necks and a humbucker bridges. That's another option. In a pinch ye could convert a neck humbucker to a humbucker-sized P90 in a HH guitar. 15:00 Epiphone LPs. Was waiting for these to show up. Altho TBH, Epiphone is slowly pricing itself above the 500$ market with more and more of its lineup moving upwards. That said I can include Epis because I DON'T buy them on the new market, I buy them used. However I paid a LOT less than 500$ for the two I have, one of which is NOT an Epiphone. 2012 Agile AL-3010SE is my current #1 LP in my Herd. #2 is my 2013 Epiphone Limited Edition Genesis Deluxe Professional. TBH both are more similar than I had intended. While the Agile is traditionally shaped and built to Standard specs, the Genesis is a doublecut Les Paul Standard, BOTH guitars are mahogany bodied with a carved archtop mahogany cap that has flame maple veneer. Both have mahogany set neck but the Agile has ebony fretboard and the Genny has rosewood. I paid 350$ used for the Agile including a Douglas HSC and 300$ for the Genesis with an Epiphone LP HSC that has an extra long headstock area that accommodates the Genesis' longer headstock. The Agile MSRP'd at 350, not including the 120$ HSC. The Epiphone MSRP'd at 499$ not including the HSC (I do not know what it retailed at). The ironic thing is that I think the $350 Agile gave WAY more value than the $500 Genesis. I'm considering purchasing another used Epiphone in near future that is of the traditional maple capped mahogany configuration. 18:00 Sterling Cutlass. While the specs sounds nice, I don't see the Cutlass all that often on the island where I live. Heck, I see few Gretsches and I've only seen a Cutlass once in the last 20 years. Personally I think the best overall value has to be the new Squier Classic Vibe 70s HSS (which I don't have …yet). Only regret I have is that it doesn't have a Floyd. LOL The best value in my Herd has to be my 2000 Squier StageMaster HSH Deluxe. It's a neck-thru maple between basswood body wings. Rosewood 24 fret 14" radius fretboard. Reversed headstock, black hardwares & licensed Floyd Rose that's actually decently good. Body mounted HSH with a volume, a tone, and a 5-way switch. While it MSRP'd in 2000 for 600$, you can find one now for about 300-400$ used in good decent condition. I bought mine for 300$.
