What an atmosphere as the crowd fires up during the interval. Looking forward to Rio. #London2012 @NBL

Benaud's Moving Tribute To Tony Greig

Will he, won't he? Wallaby Kurtley Beale stands ready for a drop goal as the game enters the 80th minute at 18-all. Surely one of the best 7 minutes of Test rugby in 2012 despite All Black captain Richie McCaw and coach Steve Hansen's bleating after the game. Baaaaaaaaaa. Go the Lions ;-)
As an Aussie...love you "Greig...e."
they were the days.... bit different to now. Such good memories.
Thats lovely from richie
Greig, Bill, Chappelli, Ritchie. The voices of Australian cricket period. In their absence its just not the same for me anymore.
Richie Benaud. The greatest commentator in any sport.Ever.🏴
That was thanks to that miserable prick Bradman, great batsmen no doubt but an egotistical arsehole.
He was a great cricketer. What ever he said on the field. He could always back it up.
On every morning of every day, professional cricketers should say a prayer for Griegy, Chapelli and the grea,t great Kerry Packer
As with you Richie... Tony was a voice of my childhood.. Miss you both
What a moving tribute ❤
Not forgetting Brian Johnston and Henry Blofeld
and John Arlott
Very true he had a a rich voice with a real regional accent .
Greatest personality. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
True legends
The best series ever 2005 in England, Tony Greig, Barry Richards and I'm sure Ian Smith was in there somewhere too.
Cricket lost it's half the voice with his demise 😐
What a fiitting trubute from Richie Benaud to his great mate Tony Greig.
You’ve gotta love a Richie monologue, even when paying respect to a great friend.
Today's woke and largely talentless commentators have nothing on Richie, Tony, Bill and Co. What a time the 70's through until early 2000's were to listen to cricket!
Even I miss tony cozier, mark Robinson and Michael holding
Ranks alongside Hobbs, Sutcliffe, Hutton, Boycott, Gavaskar
‘Let’s have a look at the creaked port of the wicked’ as Clive James once memorably wrote
The voices of summer long gone, oh boy indeed!
Made 12th Man (Billy Birmingham) a fortune. RIP Tony & Ritchie. ‘That’s it, you’re out!’ 😢
Wonderful tribute.. Still remember Tony talking about Sachin's Desert Storm innings... He made a Few phrases his own.. "They are dancing in the isles" or "Thats a Bigy"... He always loved aggressive cricket.. Boy he would love to watch the English play bazball.
God bless Tony and Ritchie, absolute legends
Bill Lawry's the best. Benaud and greig were annoying, biased arseholes.
Thank you Richie
Is Richie on the wine here? 'Chapelli's Australia' Making out the Lancashire attack to be the best in the world
I think we'll all miss Richie Benaud more than most other cricketers.
Benaud, Greig, Cozier & John Arlott are all voices that resonate Cricket. Voices you listened to under the duvet as well as during the day. They brought the love of the game into the lives of those that listened 😢 RIP to them all.
Couldn't agree more. If only present day commentators, mainy employed by Sky possessed any of the attributes of the aforementioned. Its hard listening to cricket these days, even harder to watch it unless the sound is turned off.
Richie Benaud was the voice of cricket. Here in UK, terrestrial TV Test cricket coverage is limited to highlights in the evening & the theme tune is "Soul Limbo" by Booker T & the MGs. When I hear that music, I always think it'll fade to Richie Benaud's dulcet voice saying "Welcome to highlights of (day 1 of the 3rd Test) here at (Trent Bridge) where England, after a slow start have....." There'll never be anyone who'll match RB's gentle, knowledgeable view of cricket. Much missed.
Was a great down to earth guy . Proud but never arrogant and intact humble. RIP.
Greig, Benaud, Lawry..these are the voices I think of when I think of Australian cricket on tv. Their enthusiasm fed my own enthusiasm, and became part of TV watching DNA. Every other cricket commentator was and is measured by the bar they set for enthusiasm, humour, fairness and insight
We will make them grovel? 🤔 🙄 😮
I wonder when Richie Benaud recorded this? He sounds frail. He and Grieg both were great cricketers and commentators. They were also thinkers who thought outside of the box and were not part of cricket's establishment
I bet he'd refuse to call batsmen batters, woke nonsense.
Will miss Tony greig , voice of cricket richie benaud, forever
Wonderfully narrated tribute by Richie. I must say this , every single cricketer who had earned millions or right now earning millions by playing cricket for their country/club/franchises plus sponsorships, endorsements, etc.. are indebted to Tony because Tony is the fearless leader who took the lead to get a fair pay for cricketers.
You can always admire talent and generosity of spirit.. Tony had both.
❤
Paid peanuts.. thank Sir don for that ..
Tony Greig what a great commentator he was. Really missing Tony
Yaa a strong guy who groveled
Bill Lawry so funny. 😂
Well, I stopped watching cricket after Richie stopped commentating.
From England captain to England detractor !! That's all I can say about Greig
Grew up listening to these guys in my childhood. Hearing Ritchie's words makes my eyes teary. It's unbelievable, I never met or saw these guys yet I feel such a bond.
My All time Favourite Cricket Commentator..His Voice and his passion was simply the best...👍🎩
Place of birth proof on Indian passports place of birth not date of birth
I have just one word for this man ..... "wow"
