This is a wonderful tutorial. Have been looking at a vintage clutch purse, but wanted the added security of a wrist strap. What would you suggest if there isn't a zipper, but a metal kiss clasp closure? Would it work to sew the split ring just below the hinge? Thanks.

Why not test the scrap bits of fusible foam and scraps of fabric after cutting out the pieces you need to test what side the glue is on?

I made about two dozen of these after the 2008 fires and I had the pattern still but once I cut out fifty more (trawling all the op shops for flannelette), I seriously could not remember how these go together.
