    Tbh, Will Howard made the wrong read. The ball should have gone to Smith, who was only “covered” by the free safety that was nearly 15 yards away from him. Howard did a good job of moving both safeties to commit to Emeka, but he should have sent the ball to Jeremiah who was actually wide open on the right side.

    Wow so basically they took Gabriel’s best asset and turned it against him. When he wasn’t deciding quick enough, he payed for it by playing behind the sticks on late downs. If he did make quick decisions, they were more likely to be wrong because of what looks like a disguised look within another disguised look.

    It’s a 3-3-5 dime package, cover 1 robber press qb spy with a 2 high shell look. In an empty set, Oregon should have checked to a wr screen and HOPED that a db misses

    Yes three of his interceptions are against the eagles so almost 35% of his interceptions are against the eagles but one thing I'm encouraged by is Daniel's is very smart and he does learn quickly I mean he obviously deciphered something to have you know four touchdowns in that game it will be tough for him but a little eagle told me that Jayden is going to....

    10:20 mark I have to disagree Jayden didn't get fooled on that throw McCaffrey was open the ball just sailed on him it definitely was a cold day. Dean had no chance to make a play on that ball he did not need to get it up and over Dean.

      that's fair, i do think dean impacted the throw a bit, maybe the weather also had an impact, the point of that play was to show how much more sophisticated the eagles defense is than the lions were on saturday

      Yes, he will JD doesn’t have enough experience to out smart Fangio he’s still a rookie. I love JD he is him, he has exceeded all expectations and then some. However, Fangio has to much experience, and the defense is going to be very physical this game.

    Nobody can cover any of the three Buckeye wide outs man to man an entire game. Eventually each of those guys are going to make an explosive play.

      @@danlee6481I mean out of 134 div 1 teams….Ohio state is 134 in opponent penalties called….we have had one holding penalty on the opposing team during the MASHALL game. Yet against all the other teams we have played and beaten with the D line l(top 3 in country) and line backers we have (combined 16 sacks the past three games) iliterally IMPOSSIBLE not to have ONE holding call go in our favor….look I’m happy we have won, and pretty comfortably. Imagine if Ohio State was treated fairly?

    Good breakdown but Howard is pretty good ablut taking what the defense gives him. The Bucketes have mismatches all over the field. So he shouldnt have to force anything. Buckeyes have 3 1s where as everyone else in the country has a legit 123.

    Almost 90% of the coverage has been OSU offense vs ND defense. Ironic considering Buckeye defense is by far the best in the country and the only way ND scores more than 14 would be if Buckeyes suffered a complete implosion.

      @@CSmith-zi4hrin hindsight, it’s funny how wrong you were. They only scored more than 14 because of a strip fumble when OSU was driving, as well as three consecutive PI+holding calls that gave ND 40 free yards on a single drive.

      @@richardwestern9546 Your football intellect is lacking. You are not the best unbeaten team. Ohio State beat that team in their 2nd playoff game. AND the "heart and coaching" is equal. "Heart" cannot be quantified, as it'ss within a player. Many football experts have said THE reason for Ohio State's success is D-coordinator Jim Knowles and O-coordinator Chip Kelly. I will allow you to say your coaching is their equal. I will agree, all stats and lesser opinions will go by the wayside when the teams line up on the field. Hopefully no injuries and bad calls affect the outcome

    This guy lost all credibility when he said that "Since Notre Dame was able to play man coverage on Tyler Warren I don't see why they are gonna have any issues playing man to man on Egbuka and Smith"! That right there is an asinine statement. Good luck Notre Dame if you play that.

      He corrected himself and replaced "issues" with "concerns." I think he means that ND believes they can single up Egbuka and Smith, not that HE believes they will succeed necessarily. Being confident you can do something and actually doing it are two different things.

    FYI, the refs were heavily unfavorable towards ND in most of these CFP games... Sure there was some holding that they missed that ND committed but Georgia was holding and PI ALL game!

      LOLOL Whiners are losers. Here is an ACTUAL fact, not a biased conclusion. Ohio State is LAST in college football in 2024 in penalties called on opponents. Their pass rushers have not had a single holding penalty called on the players blocking them ALL YEAR. Ohio State's best pass rusher has not had a penalty called on the player blocking him since 2021. How is that humanly possible?? I AM NOT whining, just stating FACTS. Where are your facts?

      The refs pretty much don’t call offensive holding in the playoffs. I’m an OSU fan, and apparently it’s impossible to hold Sawyer. He damn near has patches ripped off his jersey, but he never draws a flag on the offense. Having said that, I did see the OSU offensive line get away with a few holds against Texas. As long as they call it the same way for both teams, I’m ok with it.

      The best Safety in the county lines up 8-10 yards off the ball in the middle of the Ohio State defense. He will be shadowing Leonard. Schematically Ohio State's defense is unlike any other defense in the country, because of Caleb Down. It was changed after the first Oregon game

      @@diggingmystyle Ohio State is not "any team". Ohio State's TE is not as big as Warren but much faster. He was a 5* WR coming out of high school. They had him put on 30 pounds to play TE. He's like a 4th WR on the field that can block like a TE. A better fit for Ohio State's offense than a burly TE

      NOT since the Oregon game when the defense was completely changed. NOW the corners play 5 yards off with 2 deep safeties funneling the WRs to the middle of their zone where the best DB in the country plays. 10 years deep in the middle of the field. You really need to do the required research instead of just bloviating. AND ND WRs are above average

    Not counting out ND but it's very hard to win natty w/o a drop back passing game, the fact PSU almost beat ND w/o a single pass completed to a WR is kind of crazy. Would've loved to see BOTH these teams fully healthy..

      270 yards of offense for the Irish in the second half. We will be starting probably the best OL we've had all year. But I agree the amount of injuries we have on D are insane.

    I've looked at all the relevant data, both team's performances in the playoffs. Outside of the ALL SEC title games and the Alabama vs Clemson title games they all have been blowouts. Out of those 10 games since 2015, 7 have not been close. Everyone is pounding the table, ALL the talking heads are shrilling about how ND is gritty and they just find ways to win games...Its been a nice run for them... people are completely ignoring just how banged up the ND offensive line is a 3rd team tackle is suppose to handle even with help the best pass rusher in the game right now. The OSU pass rush has taken that next step or next gear if you will they are rushing to the qb's drop depth then collapsing the pocket. The secondary is FORCING the opposing QB to hold the ball a beat longer than usual and THAT is all it takes. JTT and SAWYER are #1 and #2 in sacks in these playoffs... before you open your dumb pie hole yes, stats from facing 3 top tens IS meaningul information Too much OSU offense, Too much Pressure from the OSU dline. OSU wins big, REAL big OSU 38 ND 13

      ​@@diggingmystyleCarter was in n.d backfield or disrupting a play almost every play. Now they have to deal with sawyer and j.t t on each side or stunting in the. middle. And Carter was basically playing with one arm and still getting pressure. N.d offense will be lucky to put up more then 14 points on a defense that considerably better then psu.
