We went in mid-to-late October, so I'm not sure if there will be fog in early September. For your trip, I'd definitely book some trains, as train transportation is very reliable there. But renting a car is quite easy as well. Have a happy and safe travels! 😊

Hi there! We only used Liquid Alaska Tours for our Mendenhall Glacier excursion. For all other excursions in Skagway and Ketchikan, I believe we used NCL to book them. Be sure to book early, as popular excursions might sell out. Wishing you and your BF a happy cruise!! 😊😊

Hello! There is no free food or drinks served in 1st class; however, there is a mini bar that rolls around where you can purchase drinks. And for food, you can walk over to the train car that has a kitchen and snacks! Cheers 🚞

Hey! We booked the excursion directly on the Liquid Alaska Tours website. However, some time after we went, they stopped offering the glacier hike because of the glacier's changing conditions. Check their website or email them for the latest info on this - things may have changed! 👍🏽

Hi there! I don't recall the exact differences, but I do recall that you get more space to yourself in first class...and there are less people too. We wanted to be as comfortable as possible, so we did first class!

Hi there, thanks for the kind words!! Yes, we took a local train from Milan to Tirano. I'm not sure what time we left Milan, but our Bernina train left at 2:25pm for Chur. It takes about 2.5hrs to get from Milan to Tirano, and we had enough time to get lunch in Tirano before boarding the Bernina. Whatever time you choose for the Bernina, head to Tirano extra early just to be certain you won't miss the once in a lifetime experience aboard the train! Wishing you a safe and happy trip 😊😊

As of last year, they stopped the glacier walks because of the condition of the glacier. To be sure, I recommend reaching out to the company to see if they still do glacier walks. Hi there! We went in early May. It was actually the first cruise to Alaska of the season for the Encore. The weather at sea was chilly, cloudy, and windy at times. I would say mid 50F-55F at sea. The weather conditions at each port were different - we encountered a bit of rain at some of them, but the weather was mostly either overcast or sunny ☀️ The weather is always changing! We loved our experience and hope you do too! 😊😊

And if there was something really nice on the other side, you can just stand up and take a closer look! This is what the people in our cabin were doing. Everyone was really friendly too. I will say, at least in first class, you have great views on both sides the entire time! If there's something cool on the other side, you can just stand to get a better look too. I didn't feel any motion sickness! I do remember there was one choppy day at sea - I don't recall if I took a dramamine or not - if I did, it would've just been for that one day. I'd say just bring some dramamine/motion sickness meds just in case you might feel motion sickness. 👍🏽

Hi there! Thanks so much for the kind words about our video!! 😊😊 We booked our Juneau Mendenhall canoe-hike excursion with a 3rd party. We originally wanted to do a helicopter Mendenhall tour, but they were all booked. We met friends on the cruise and they told us though, that their helicopter tour was cancelled due to rain. So we were really happy with the Mendenhall canoe-hike, bc while it rained, our excursion was still able to go on! The lumberjack excursion was through NCL. We're in our 30s, and the Mendenhall canoe-hike was really an adventure - you get a lot of adrenaline canoeing with the group across the lake, learn a lot about the glacier and its surroundings, and walking on the glacier itself is awesome. I imagine the helicopter tour would be exhilarating too. Not sure if you stop at Skagway, but the White Pass / Yukon trail ride was fun. It's not "adventurous" but it had lots of cool history and sights. And was an opportunity to sneak in a nap lol! There was a brewery in Skagway too, so that was fun afterwards 🍻 Wishing your family a happy and safe cruise!! 😄😄

I don't recall if there were Canadian customs check before boarding (we're from the U.S.). But keep trying/calling NCL for clarifications to your questions. @@JKEscapades_ The worst case is that I'm afraid they won't let us board at Seattle. If there's no custom before boarding, I would believe there's no problem. What I heard is there will be a Canadian custom at Seattle before boarding the ship.

I heard it can be rainy, cloudy, and foggy around that time - however, if there are cruises still available in October, I'm sure it will be beautiful and fun regardless of the weather! Alaska is an amazing place 😍

Hi Brian! I had to scroll through my phone's videos to answer this one. I don't remember if there was an actual "hard time" to disembark, but - we were having one last breakfast at 8:55am (with our luggages), in line to disembark at 9:25am, and back on land at 9:40am. Not sure if it's different now, but that was our experience. Hope you have a great cruise!! 😊😊

Hey Tyler! Prior to the excursion, we didn't have to do anything besides sign up and meet the guides after disembarking the ship. They provided all the gear needed and gave a rundown about the whole adventure prior to getting in the canoes and heading to the glacier. Wishing you guys a happy trip in October! Cheers! 😊😊🍻🍻

We went in late January, so we didn't have an issue with mosquitos. I can definitely see that being a problem if the weather was more humid!
