Good video. Just FYI for others, WD40 isn't a lubricant. I'd use something like garage door lube since most people have that in their garage.
@@kennethmeyer7113 agreed, the correct thing to use is hydraulic oil, I just only had a 5 gallon jug when we were installing and didn’t want to open it.
Nice!! Simple!!
Brilliant. Superb instructional video. Thank you

FYI, this method also worked for MX5400. Thanks!!
Thank you for not making a 2:30 minute video a 10:00 minute video! Very useful.
Sickkkkk how tall is the landing
At this point in time it was a little over 8ft, we have a build video that we made. ua-cam.com/video/JL2ob05XR3I/v-deo.htmlsi=yfP7nnMKuLjZcAIc We actually just made it bigger because we got a full size FMX ramp. it is now about 13ft tall and generally way better. We got of vid of that too. ua-cam.com/video/h593C3MTZR8/v-deo.htmlsi=8uNBeRUxm-D08t2T
Thanks. Your video helped me to solidify how I am going to coat my tank... It's stupid that I did not think of just removing it from the cage... I use mine for water in an off grid location in the desert. 120° heat, and extreme UV in the summer here. I don't think I would leave those huge strips though, they're going to allow a lot of light. You probably know from experience, how much alge grows in an unpainted tank as opposed to a 80% painted tank as shown (I estimated that strip you took off each side, is about 20%) I need that indicator more than you do, as my tote top sits 8ft off the ground, but I will still not do it. I don't want any light hitting my water. I thought about putting a bluetooth tag in a plastic bottle, floating on top of the water. I could maybe check my phone to find water capacity. Maybe that won't work, but some float method to tell water level is pretty common. I get drinking water separately, but I will drink out of my tote as most do here in Slab City. Few coat or cover their totes, but they really should. Great video! Now I'm off to Harbour Freight to find that pump.
You are right, we should of painted those strips as we still get some algae build up. Its better then before but still not perfect, I would go for multiple layers of paint or even potentially a plastic primer then a top coat. Ours isn't holding up the best as we just used some leftover paint. For your water gauge I have 2 ideas that may be terrible or may help. You could do a sight string, after some googling people will put a floating device in the top of the tank with a string or some sort of measurement outside, as the water level goes down the device floats lower pulling the string higher up and the inverse when filling. This would be like a bottle in tank filled with water and a cord tied around it then run that out the top and put a small counter weight on the end. The other idea is using weight, if could put pressure sensors under the corners of the tank you could use them to calculate volume.
Thanks for doing this. I’m going to tackle this in a few weeks. What thickness metal did you use for the square.
The 2x2 and 2x1 is all 0.12 (1/8th in) thickness. Let me know how it goes!!!
11:00 what is the thing on the back of the tractor
That would be a box blade attachment, this one was a light duty 5’ one. We have now upgraded to a heavy duty 6’ John Deere one, the extra width and weight are helpful. We also welded on some studs and add extra weight to it as well. Here is a video of the new one: ua-cam.com/video/yEZyG2SpkDI/v-deo.htmlsi=Lgbj4Z09citKquk8
i see how you did the tube/sleeve to put in different size rods for different size wheels. but how do you stabilize the narrower rod in the sleeve? great vid by the way. i really like the idea of using a cutting board, since they are way cheaper than a sheet of derlin
For my setup we turned down a 3/4in rod on a lathe, so the base is wide but the shaft thinner for the smaller diameter. Assuming you don't have one of those laying around, you could do a few other tricks. First just weld a skinny metal rod to a thick one that fits in the base. Or you could find some 3/4" OD tube and make a sleeve that goes around the rod.
Where did you find your parts?
Here is a response from another comment but should help with finding any parts: I think this is the manual you can look for the part numbers: www.kingkutter.com/images/uploaded/FlatTopTillerManual.pdf I think these are the seals: www.kingkutter.com/505017-double-lip-seal-set-tiller But if I recall correctly we got ours on ebay or amazon once we had the part #. There is also this page but it seems to only have the major assemblies not the individual subcomponents: www.kingkutter.com/rotary-tillers If all those fail I would call them and ask.
Bad ass track fellas!!! Sure would love to bring the XC-W out and ride with you guys!!

Does your tire have a tube?
@FarmingwithBrad at the time no, but I’ve since popped it and added a tube. You just fill the tube w/ fluid the same as a tire
@BrollBrothersProductions thanks 👍👍
What degree is your takeoff and landing? In process staking out track at my house and that is the one hang up is face angle of the jumps. I know the greater the angle the more pop etc but is there a happy medium without a bunch of trial and error lol.
@@tywesbrook4090 take offs usually fall between 3-4:1 so a 6’ takeoff would be 18-24’ long. Really depends greatly though on the height and the speed, you will get a feel for it pretty quick. Landings typically 4-6:1 so 6’ tall and 24-36’ long. The cool thing about it being your house is if it sucks you rebuild it. For a great beginners guide checkout www.destructionramps.com/how-to-build-dirt-jumps

Very sweet
@@BeOutsideL1ving thank you
Your builds are awesome! My son and I started building ours this past summer. Do you have any tips for box blade use on your builds?
For sure, we use it in every single build. 1: The more weight the better. We rebuilt an old heavy duty JD box blade and then welded posts on it to hold even more weight. We tend to leave around 200 additional pounds on it making the whole unit weigh well over 600lbs 2: Box blade ARE NOT good at cutting or moving dirt quickly. They can do it in small passes but if your's has scarifers use those to break up the soil before trying to move it 3: Make sure you have a good cutting edge, if its worn out flip it (we have a vid on that) 4: Use the tilt / roll to fine tune your angles / grading. Make sure the box is flat with the ground and blade is positioned right (top-link / lower arms) 5: Have a full box when trying to finish smooth 6: Make some vids! In all seriousness if you post some content happy to give advice. The first features we ever built we just used a box blade on a tiny B7100. We plowed the ground with a 1 bottom and then used the box blade to push some small jumps and a tiny berm.
DO YOU HAVE A VIDEO ON THE BRAKES
No not yet ours are going strong so far
Replying again we do have a video on installing new brake master cylinders, its in the Backhoe playlist
Well how are you feeling about all the wood chips now that it’s been a year? The local track adds a lot of wood chips and it makes the higher speed sweepers very loose and unstable. Curious what your thoughts are.
@jcbenson01 overall positive for sure, our soil is mostly clay filled loam and rocks so it packs very tight and gets dusty. So the chipped corners are looser and rut up better now. However when it’s really dry they will make it even looser as you will have soft material on top of the hard pack and it will want to slide out. When it’s prepped though they are the best corners on the track. We will post an update video at some point we are about due to add some more chips (they have been piled up breaking down since this video). But always too much work to do around the farm and never enough time.
@@BrollBrothersProductionssounds like my synopsis also. Just be careful adding too much. I agree when the track is wet and soft it’s great. But the sweeper gets packed down somewhat and the hard packed spots with the mulch are like riding on coasters sliding on a coffee table.
@ spot on with ours as well. The best two corners we have are under giant trees so there was decently thick black topsoil there when we started. They got some chips and the leaves tilled in every year.
Where does the cable that you connected after installing the new reverse switch? I’m having trouble finding mine and also getting a new one.
That I do not know and I cannot seem to find that cable anywhere on the micro fiche. I would follow it to its source and then search that from the microfiche. If you trace it back and let me know where its connected i'll look
Great video. Thank you a ton for making it. I’m going to fill my tractor tires now using your method.
Cool video! I appreciate the ideas for my track
@@reecebauer5261 glad we could help, maybe this winter we will finish our endurcross section, we got distracted with other projects and it’s been taken over by the woods lol
ua-cam.com/video/DyL4xOm_RZo/v-deo.html ,some moments from my track near athens
I've noticed the rear cutting blade on mine won't even engage the ground even if I tilt it all the way back. Going to try this to see if I can bend/fix the issue. Thanks for the video.
So, let me understand your process. You discovered a fuel line blockage, so you blew the blockage back into the tank, then pouring a small amount of fuel into a mostly empty tank proceeded to try and blow the blockage back out of the tank....correct? What if the blockage remained in the tank after flushing it like you showed?.....I submit it would be better to apply air pressure to the tank, as you showed, and blow the blockage out of the tank instead of back into the tank. Or if it would not dislodge I would run a stiff wire up towards the tank and repeat blowing it out. Of course, I am not the expert and am the one sitting in the easy chair. YMMV.
@@greglewis8752 yeah so if it doesn’t blow out, the correct move would be to remove the tank and give it a proper cleaning. This was a quick fix to get back to work, and honestly our issue is mostly not having a fuel filter on our diesel pump. We get some algae and gunk in the fuel sometimes.
