Best way to Smoke Spare Ribs
Переглядів 8712 роки тому
We smoked Spare Ribs 3 different ways. One way was smoking it for four hours not wrapping it at all just seasoning. Next way was wrapping it 2 1/2 hours in for the last hour and a half wrapped in tin full. Third Way smoked it for 2 1/2 hours then gave them a butter bath and wrap it in tinfoil. Watch the video to see which way we like best.

    What purpose does the oil serve? It doesn't mix with the liquids. The meat seems to repel the oil. What the purpose?

    • @BigLudsBBQ
      @BigLudsBBQ Рік тому

      Vegetable oil, when used in meat marinade, mitigates the ill effects of acid inclusion. It dissolves well the aromas of added spices, and as it seeps through the structure of the meat, the oil gently envelops it, sealing in moisture and preventing drying out during cooking.

    I have a pitboss pro series 2 vertical smoker. Brand new to smoking meats. Since going from 250 to 425 can take a bit, do I count the time for the smoker to heat up to 425 in the 25 minutes? Or crank it to 425 and start the 25 minutes once it hits temp?

    • @BigLudsBBQ
      @BigLudsBBQ 2 роки тому

      I would turn it up & check them after 25 minutes. Mine heats up pretty quick. Good luck.
