I've been to Jakarta. It is a city with very high inequality between rich and poor. There are both developed areas and many slum areas. I saw many Indonesians eating food from garbage. And I was cheated out of money by an Indonesian person. It is a very dangerous country if you are thinking of traveling. They are ready to attack and rob you at any time.

Indonesia needs to wake up and leave this ugly culture of public littering behind. Trash and garbage are everywhere, on roadsides, rivers, in the backyard, etc. And it's not just Jakarta, it's all over Indonesia. Most cities in Sumatra aren't really cleaner than Jakarta. I believe the 2 main root causes are the lack of education and bad waste management. Incompetent leadership, poor infrastructures, too relaxed & laid back culture, you name it. Indonesia is the second largest contributor to marine plastic pollution. Marinate on that. I want to see a much cleaner Indonesia in the future. To any Indonesians reading this, will you do your part and contribute to that by picking up all the garbage you see when you step out of your house and put them in where they belong? Indonesians, you should know better of how ugly this littering culture is. Most of you are muslims and as muslims you should already know of how important cleanliness in Islam is. Bangun dan berubah Indonesia! Ayuh!

Slums in Jakarta .............the story begins ,maybe since 1970's ,when people from various parts of Indonesia ,went to Jakarta to seek better life.....they didn't expect that the competition is hard.....they don't want to give up easily ,but they don't have any special skills .......many feels embarrassed ,if returning to their village without any success ........so they prefer to stay ,even with less income......
