So the reason we don't believe in it is because the "rapture" and the "thousand year reign" are modern, novel traditions that have never been taught historically prior to the americanization of Christianity, which Lutherans do not subscribe to. What he says here is also good, as to what other people should rightly understand about those verses, in the lack of any further teachings of the fathers or apostles on this issue.
Simply NO, they don't believe it.
I'm still studying and praying to understand the timing, but it seems as though its post trib. (If I'm even alive at the time because the population of the earth has been wittled down)
The devil this pastor describes was invented by the medieval church, based on early Christian ideas, which were in turn based on a character invented by the Hebrews, although the satan written about in the book of Job bears little resemblance to the modern Satan fearfully spoken described by modern evangelicals. More lies Christians believe.
8 year old Elizabeth Struhs died because people with strong religious convictions withheld her diabetes medication, believing God would safe her. More lies Christians believe.
One return not 3
Lutherans are wrong on amillennium and rapture. The early church and Justin martyr show the evidence.
I agree with the Lutheran view. The last Day is the Last Day. Not a little bit before it and then again on the Last Day.
Do Lutherans Believe in the Rapture? Some do, some don't, some of us never think about it.
I could never be Lutheran because I believe in the old testament prophecies of the earthly kingdom or millennium the seventh day.
I'm sorry pastor that you are so confused about the rapture of the Church. Jesus clearly states in Revelation he will keep us from the hour of tribulation. Not through but from God's wrath. I will continue to pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to you.
When in church history do we first see this teaching ??
Jesus said "You must be born again" If you are born again, then the Holy Spirit indwells you. The Holy Spirit is also referred to as the Restrainer... and when the Restrainer is "taken away", leaving the earth at the mercy of Satan and his demons, He takes us WITH HIM. We are NOT appointed unto wrath. Do Lutherans not believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in believers? Do Lutherans believe that the Holy Spirit would abandon us? Do Lutherans ignore the book of revelation of JESUS CHRIST? Do Lutherans not believe Jesus when He says that "if those days are not shortened, ALL FLESH would perish"??? Very FEW will survive what is coming... and most of those will be destroyed at Armageddon. How "comforting" in Paul's words to the Thessalonians does that sound to you? Please tell me what Jesus is referring to in Rev 3:10? What "escape" is He speaking of if not the rapture?
Different interpretation ???
it should be an individual decision. Not a Lutheran one.
great service
I think you conflated a few topics: the millennium, the tribulation, and the rapture. You proved the rapture with your Thessalonians quote. We WILL meet the Lord in the air. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 - "Then we who are alive, who are left, will be CAUGHT UP (raptured) together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord." You also said a few times that Jesus is returning for believers, but didn't much mention that unbelievers will suffer God's wrath after the believers are removed. How do we escape the wrath that will come? Matthew 24:31 - "And He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." Matt 25:10 "the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut." The point is, Christ will send his angels to rescue believers out of this world to be with the Lord. Everyone else will be judged. The rapture is the separation point. What happens to those who are not taken to be with the Lord, like Satanists and such? Whatever the sequence after believers are caught away to be with the Lord... we know God's wrath is a major part of it. We just don't know the exact manner and sequence judgment will fall. Jesus mentioned: "on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all" Luke 17:29 So, we'll be removed by angels, just as Lot was snatched away (raptured) out of Sodom. Then the wrath will fall on the unrighteous. Matthew 24:31 - "And He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
Matthew 13 The Parable of the Weeds 24 Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. 27 “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ 28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ 29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’” So we will not be separated until the End. And it will be the unbelievers who will first be removed.
My dad was a Lutheran. I was raised Southern Baptist by my mom. I want to become a Lutheran
Both are good go where the holy spirit leads you
He is already confused
You are absolutely right and this is what he asked from us and I hope a lot of people are paying attention cause I know I was one that wasn’t but I know one thing you better or you will reap what you sow AMEN 🙏🏽
As a rapture believer I never thought that the rapture would be something that should make Christians passive and just wait. As a matter of fact it is unfair to think that us western Christians will skip the persecution, while millions of our sisters and brothers all over the world are persecuted today. Also I started thinking what if we will not be raptured at the same time. Paul teaches that we will be taken TOGETHER, but does that mean at the same time? Just food for thought. I don't neccessarily believe that after the rapture Jesus will prolong his coming and we will just watch all this Revelations stuff happening, but it could just mean that we will greet him in the clouds and then right away be descended back to Earth with him as he returns and establishes His order.
That is what is said in the bible. The Rapture is not an event 7 years before hand.
Thank you, I needed to hear this very much.🙏😇💜
👍
Adam, that was wonderful!
I find myself confused 😕 I have experienced the abandonment of church before. I truly thought I had found what I needed but it was all pulled out from under me 😔
We love you Sarah, and you are always, always welcome here 💛
Obviously you are not looking for a crown of righteousness that those who love Christ's soon Glorious appearing for His own shall receive. Hope you're truly born again. The catching away of the Lord's true Blood bought born again sons and daughters is a mystery given by the Apostle Paul for God's people. And what part of God has not appointed us to wrath aren't you understanding?
Thank you. This is exactly what I needed to hear. One that blows my mind in my early path of Christ is that God continually tells me exactly what I need, when I need it.
Grace is something we don't deserve. But out of his Love for us grace is sufficient for us
they wear ashes on their head because they are dead. The living know that this is their spiritual eye and its full of light.
Thank you, Adam
THE GOSPEL SIMPLY REQUIRES YOU TO PLACE ALL OF YOUR FAITH IN THE DEATH, BURIAL & RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST AND THE BLOOD HE SHED ON THE CROSS FOR YOUR SALVATION Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are SAVED, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that… CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS according to the scriptures; and that he was BURIED, and that he ROSE AGAIN the third day according to the scriptures: (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) …In whom ye also TRUSTED, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also AFTER that ye BELIEVED, ye were SEALED with that holy Spirit of promise. (Ephesians 1:12-13) For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the WORD of the TRUTH of the GOSPEL; Which is come unto you, as it is in ALL the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye HEARD of it, and KNEW the GRACE of God in TRUTH: (Colossians 1:5-6) For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe. (1 Thessalonians 2:13) …grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Galatians 1:3) JESUS PAID FOR EVERY ONE OF YOUR SINS …PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE… BUT YOU MUST TRUST HIM AND WHAT HE DID FOR YOU TO BE FORGIVEN!
Video got cut off at the end.
Thanks for this word
No one is yet saved. Grace, is how you know, you SHALL, be saved. All have fallen short, all are guilty. What Christianity can't comprehend, is that grace, is for all, not just Christianity. Christ said so. Matthew 12:32-32 Mark 3:28 Luke 12:10
It's a conundrum when using your understanding. Your denial is your downfall. Denying the Holy Bible and you are always in competition, with yourself or other people. Remember this good act, in case the next is distasteful. "Your understanding is not God's understanding, and His ways are not your ways." You can't change that, only correcting yourself will help, but hurt you as well. The written word and truth, and you acknowledgement of error will explain your penalties and cost of which I speak.
The unrighteous say in thier mouth by way of self righteousness, "We do not want your truth! We pay much to our pophets to give us these lies. Give us that which we demand and not of what The Lord commands! For now we can trample our wicked dances upon the blood of righteousness in freedom! No more do ye have the right to uphold that old way unto us! Speak our tongue and dance our dance, lest ye be a blasphemer of our new religeon. For our numbers are many, and in solitude and praise will our traditions abolish the written grieviance our hearts reject. Though He is the Author of religeon, it now belongs to us to cultivate as we deem. Go away ye demon, and impose ye not upon our made up light! For we shall bombard thee with the arrows of our hypocracy, that ye may be slandard of our own holy way."
"How do I know that I'm saved? How do I know that I have this grace?" Jesus died on the cross for you. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Not only did Jesus die for you, but He shed His blood to purify you. He died, went to hell and because Jesus the son is perfect, God the Father, took Him from hell and Jesus arose on the third day. Thus defeating death and hell. The only way to the Father is thru the Son. John 14:6 I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me. Believing that Jesus died, knowing that God raised Jesus from the dead, repenting for your sins, making Jesus King of your life and surrendering to Him completely is the only way to heaven. Man is not saved by works, rituals or traditions. If we were saved by works then salvation wouldn't be a gift and Jesus's blood wouldn't be enough. By the shedding of His blood, we enter into a blood covenant with the Son. Jesus did all the work. We just have to believe and accept. This is the mercy and grace of God and Jesus. ❤
There is nothing just about burning people

........& did they not write that their god 'told' them to kill ALL the Canaanites, AFTER being commanded not to kill? And 'told' them to kill all the Midianite fathers, mothers, & to 'slew every male child by sward' but keep all the little virgin girls for themselves? A bunch of lonely sheepherders killed OTHER families to steal little girls for themselves, & justified this by writing that a god made them do it. Obviously, that commandment was directed for only among themselves, as they didn't give a loaf of crap for others. Read the torah AND then the talmud, & see you are a dog, as the ones of judah considered of their own victims that I have mentioned above. That was THEIR god. To desire their 'god' as they know your messiah as a drunk & his mother a whore, would make you a beggar. Their dog. The sacrifices, kidnapping and murdering (& probably raping) are actions they boldly bragged of. While their own ideologies are exactly what they accused 'pagans' of. And yet so many still sympathize of such morbid actions. What's the difference between a pagan offering their own daughter & you offering someone else's instead? I guess it makes no difference, because sacrifices & death did make god happy. Until someone penciled in a messiah, who kicked the god to the curb & stole the choir.
Pastor Mike I agree with you to a point. I was raised in a Baptist church in the 70's and over the years of being a Prodigal have gone to churches with different doctrines on scripture. Baptist to Charismatic (Pentecostal) to Reformed. You are correct on most parts. That being said, there are so many (sects) in the Protestant church each has their own idea (doctrine) on eternal salvation. And I agree with you most heartedly with what you say, to a point. The last few churches I attended were PCA Reformed. Not all PCA believe in eternal salvation as you say. Martin Luther was a Reformer as well as Calvin and Knox. One quote that has been taken out of context for over 500 years is Luther"s "be a sinner, and sin boldly". Calvin has been put down as well for his TULIP. My point is not to assume that all Calvinist or Reformed have the same views of predestination or once saved always saved. What I agree with you the most on is the conviction, guilt, sorrow, etc. of our sin's and loneliness from God, to not having an intimate relationship with God and Savior Jesus. That is me. I'm afraid to step foot into another church because of the pain I have received from the clergy of the above mentioned churches. I plan on coming to your church soon. I need a place for rejects, those that Jesus broke bread with. I need a place to be loved and at the same time to be transparent, because I have been judged and hurt by members of those churches. I know God loves me because I'm typing this, why would I if I fell from Grace? Phil 1:6 Love, Grace and Peace of Christ to you
Mark, we would love to see you soon, grab a coffee, and hear more. You're always welcome, and definitely loved! Thanks for your comment and we appreciate your thoughts!
Thanks pastor!
Just because an alternative idea does not hold up does not mean any other idea is correct or more likely correct by default. Yes, invoking magic can explain anything. It is best to take the advice of Hume who wrote that the rational mind should reject the greater miracle. You speak of the absurdity of accepting something that is nearly impossible. How much more absurd is it to accept something that is definately impossible, such as a suspension of physical laws to allow resurrection?
Needs a better ending and I feel like the words get irritating after a while, but other than that I felt that the video was very well done! Why this has less than 80 hits confuses me lol
Your foolishness is real. Church was never about you, but about Christ. We're not to invite people to a church, we're commanded by God to GO OUT INTO the world and make disciples!! Jesus drank wine at a wedding banquet, not at a temple service. The church, being God's human disciples in the begining never used beverages to attract the lost to Him, THEY USED EVANGELISM, PRAYER, AND RELIANCE ON THE HOLY SPIRIT!!!
Stay classy, 90.3.
