置賜のふるさと工芸品⑦【成島焼和久井窯(山形県長井市)】
山形県置賜地域の「ふるさと工芸品」の紹介映像です。
長井市今泉地区は昔から良質な陶土が出ると伝えられ、それに着眼した山形市平清水の和久井利蔵が、昭和12(1937)年に土管・瓦製造を始めました。その後、次男の富二夫氏(初代)が、同じ地で窯を開き、今泉の土を活かした焼き締めの「長井焼」を開始。昭和40(1965)年に、旧米沢藩の「成島焼」復興を依頼されてからは、復興に向けた研究活動に専念。10年の歳月をかけて、成島焼を今泉で蘇らせました。
藩内で日用雑器として使われていた成島焼の特徴は、どっしりとした黒釉やなまこ釉の深い味わい。初代富二夫氏はその特徴を活かしながら、「伝統から学び、現代を表現し、未来へつなげる」という現代工芸の美術的価値を高めようと、主に茶陶器や現代陶器を作ってきました。その功績が認められ、平成22年1月には長井市指定無形文化財に指定されています。また、2代目の修氏もその志を受け継ぎ、成島焼を自らの表現として手がけつつ、白い染付けの磁器で作品探求をしています。
