Norwegian with Ilys
Norway
Hei, velkomen :)
A week alone in a Norwegian cabin
Hei :)
Hi:)
My name is Ilys, I am 25 years old, and I grew up in France. Now I live in Norway and I teach Norwegian on social media, and since there isn't that much in Norwegian on UA-cam, I also make vlogs sometimes, so that you guys can see a bit how it is to live in Norway and can hear Norwegian. I know that I haven't been really active lately, and I am sorry for that, but I am really motivated to make more videos and am not going to stop posting on UA-cam, even if I don't post really often (I will do my best to post more often!). I hope that you guys like the video :)
SMALL Q&A
What is my mother tongue? French
When did I move to Norway? In August 2020
When did I start learning Norwegian? In January 2019
Did I take Norwegian classes? No, I have never taken any classes, I learnt on my own, and I have a dedicated video where I explain how I did.
What do I do for a living? I have my own company; I am a Norwegian teacher and give private classes.
Where do I live? I lived in Trondheim for 3 years when I came to Norway, and I moved to Oslo last summer.
Why do I speak English so well since I'm French? I lived in Canada, Halifax for a year in a host family when I was 16, so that's where I learnt English. I also think I'm lucky that my brain is good at learning languages (even if I also work A LOT).
What do I miss about France? Not much, I feel home in Norway. But two things I really miss are good dessert, and good movie theaters.

That's something that I did all the time when I started learning Norwegian, it's really fun and motivating, and the words are a lot easier to remember when you learnt them in a specific context! I real...

I made a mistake in the discount code in the video! The code is ILYS_LYSLOYPA15 (with a normal "O"). Use it to get 15% off the book ! The code lasts until the end of January and only works on this website: www.lysloypa.no Hei!

Today I'm talking with Kaja Kvernbakken about many different topics such as why she comes from Bergen but speaks as if she came from Oslo, the difference between the school system in France and in Norway, how translating texts work, or even how to build a character when you write a book. Kaja is a Norwegian writer that has giving out 2 books, and this interview, you get to know her a bit better...

Hi, my name is Ilys, I was born and raised in France, and today I have lived in Norway for 3 years. Since the beginning, moving to Norway hasn't felt like moving away from home, but going home. Today it really much feels like I have two homes, and like family or friends, I love both France and Norway equally, but for total different reasons. I learnt Norwegian on my own and am today totally flu...
Paris - Oslo (Norwegian Vlog)
SUBTITLES on the whole video ! 🇳🇴 Heii! I denne Vlogg...

På INSTAGRAM "Norwegian.with.
Angelus mortis late alas perobscuras stravit atque alte in caelum ascendit.
Hey, thank you for this video! I've dreamed for a while of learning Norwegian and living there someday. I'm making use of your tips. Tusen takk!

What is your mother language?
bruh everytime i watch her i get motivation to try and learn norwegian but i give up in like 2 hours lmfao
OK...my special ways are: 1) to subscribe the channels of interesting vloggers the content of which i'm really into it...what's my 'cup of tee' is 2) to force myself writing some comments like this one e.g. (f.e.🤣🤣) in the language what i'm just learning... After all, i like you way to learn. Is my way too🤣 Just 'like a kid', you know... At last, i badly appreciate your experiences in therms of Norwegian learning. Simple amazing! A 'native russian' teaching German told about your channel, and your way, your language journey🤣 So, i know you now.✋
Anyone else think her voice is very soothing? There's something about it, it's very nice.
Hey, I can only imagine how many hours you spent editing this video. So I think you really deserved some words of encouragement! Just letting you know even if Im not really into learning Norwegian I really loved the whole episode! (Im fighting right now with French haha, Salut!) You are really inspiring person and hope so you are happy in the cold north! Best wishes from Poland! I hope see you soon in other episodes haha! Merci!
Wow... I found these tips quite interesting. I am starting to learn Finnish
Du snakker veldig bra norsk også veldig riktig uttalelser
When I was 7 years old, I was learning disabled and I couldn't read, and my parents tried everything. but one day, my mother bought me some comic books, and from that day forward, I bothered my mom to help me learn the words so I could read them. somewhere between 8 and 9 years old, I was reading 800-page novels. I ended up reading about my grade level. This is a very eye-opening video.❤🎉
well teach us all languages you have :)
God bless u girl ❤
Thank you for your honest advice i hope you doing well 🙏
tusen takk ilys!!! i’m learning norwegian as an american middle schooler with a dream to move and study there, and this is very helpful !!! i’ve started recording myself speaking so one day i can look back and see how far i’ve come best wishes ! :]
Im from Russia and when im listening this video, my English is upgrade.😂
I've never seen a way to learn so much... Logical and fluid. I've tried and it's much more effective than years of learning at school... This video gave me all the motivation I needed to get started in Norwegian 🤗
Yes!
Ohh waw, kult haha
Thanks for sharing your trip.. it is very beautiful there
I had already watched all of your videos and I am glad to watch your new video.❤ from Japan
this is exactly what i needed for my studies, tusen takk.
Så koselig video, LOVE💙
how long did you spend learning in a day?
Thank you so much for your videos, you make a great job. It's normal to be afraid to make videos on UA-cam and do something wrong. Actually, you do it very well with nice images technics ( des jolis plans, une belle narration visuelle et textuelle).
We are waiting for your video. Kindly continue to post every time.
Thank you so much. ❤❤❤ i like your vlog. I have more time to watch you and listen to you
Finally i found norwegain vlog hehe. With subtitle it helps me to learn more norwegian hehhe thankmyou Please continue soing vlog. I will not skip the ads 🥰🥰
Thank you for the support, it means a lot ! There are two other vlogs on my channels, and one more is coming in the weeks to come, hopefully they can help you as well <3
Better done than perfect. Keep posting<3
Yess, you're so right ! I'm going to keep posting !:)
no longer one of my favourite language youtubers. just one of my favourite youtubers. så avslappende å se på, og jeg lærer så mange nye ord mens jeg gjør det også~
Ohh thank you so much for your comment, it really means a lot !
I loved this video!!! When it popped up in my feed I was so excited and clicked on it immediately as I loved your one on how you learnt Norwegian. You make really great content that is 100% worth waiting for. I appreciate all the time and effort you put in to them and your ending really made me smile! Super looking forward to the next one. Thank you Ilys 💛
Ohh thank you ! Your comment really means a lot to me, thanks for the support, I'm going to make mooorre videos !:)
🍽️
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
Great video!! We have in Sweden too many people who live in the country 🌨❄☃alone in cabins and houses and many of them love it, would never move to towns or even to villages.. 🏙🌆
Thank you for posting! Such a joy to see this country and what you're up to. Your voice is so, so nice to listen to! Have a good holiday!
I love it!
I actually screamed when u mentioned "Skam" because I've been a fan of it for 5 years and it inspires me to learn Norwegian!!!!! >:3
I'm going to try making videos about SKAM soon ! I'm sure you're going to like them <3
Any time with you is time well spent, glad you’re ok, hopefully see you again soon and big love x
Thank you so much for the support, I'm happy that you liked the video! And yess, there is more to come here on UA-cam, I'm going to dedicate a lot more time to creating longer video really soon <3
@ You do what you can, life is for living as well but we’ll be here whenever you return, big love x
