    Canadian expat in Australia but i have travelled through France and I will be back. Australian mass transport is abysmal compared to France. The food in France is generally superior but Melbourne's restaurants are world-class. Culture is vastly different. Im quite outgoing and gregarious but that isnt well-received in France, especially in the cities. Australians cant manage their drinking. Lots of drunken brawls and obnoxious behaviour here, didnt see that in France and i was in the country for almost two months. Starting your own business is vastly easier in Australia. The bureaucracy in France is stfling in the extreme.

    Its very interesting...I spent quite a few weeks in France travelling around and visiting some French relatives. I was anticipating being blown away by the food in France and....it just didn't happen!! Cheese, pastries were amazing but everything else was nice but little ho-hum. Italy on the other hand...wow!!! European architecture is amazing though and especially France!! We might get there in another couple of hundred years !!

    If she lived in Sydney or Brisbane, yeah the general produce sucks somewhat. I felt that way coming from Adelaide to Sydney. So for me she over generalises concerning my country and food quality. I doubt she's ever been to the markets in Adelaide or Melbourne.

    Never had problems making friends in Australia but then I lived in so many places growing up so got used to being friendless every few years. If you live in a capital city it is harder so can only suggest living in a town where you see the same faces often. Wearing a smile certainly helps to break the ice though I'm an old man of 72.

      Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I couldn't agree more than a smiley and friendly face always opens up a lot of things in life, in general. But it doesn't always gets you all the way to a friendship sadly..

    Some of Japanese typically don’t realize that for cultures that values direct, open and honest communication, lack of communication actually has much more potential for damage. It is important to check the tendencies of the culture one is dealing with, using the scale provided. I learn that When dealing with more direct cultures, be proactive about communicating what is on your mind, even if it is something that you think the other person will not be happy hearing. I still learn When dealing with more indirect cultures, be careful to not overpower them, and create an atmosphere where they feel comfortable communicating.

    I have a question on the cost of living, what does a house cost in France?

    • @HELENAMNR.
      @HELENAMNR. 11 днів тому

      That's a very good question. It does vary depending on what you huy and where you buy. The price per square meter is extremely high in Paris, but a lot less everywhere else in France. Now, the south, Côte d azur etc, a lot higher as well. It's all about the demand. 😊

    My wife and I travelled to France in 2019 and I would agree with most of the comparisons *but* with the caveat that Paris is not France. Lille, Montpellier, Nice, and Grenoble are wonderful places to visit. Southern France especially felt very similar to Australia and I don’t think it was just the warmer climate

  • @Some_Idiot_on_the_Internet

    The logistics of transporting fresh food as well as the abundance of usable land, higher population and many traditional industries still functioning within a day's drive of everywhere else means MUCH better food. Australia has scarce water, lower popukation density and a very LOOOOOONG way to transport things, especially internationally. So the food just isn't anywhere close, sadly.

  • @shaddy7787
    @shaddy7787 12 днів тому

    Paris gets more dodgy with every year that passes. I disagree with her, food in Melbourne is better than Europe. Australia has more parks than Paris. You have to leave central Paris to find a normal sized park.

    Perhaps you should visit the Australian National Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux is the repository of the names of more than 10,000 Australians who died in France during the First World War but have no known grave. The Memorial is situated a few kilometres north of Villers-Bretonneux on the D23.

    I migrated to Australia 56 years ago from the UK and have not left it since, even to take a holiday. Was a pleasure to watch your video and I initially felt the streets and buildings to be clean so was surprised when you mentioned the rubbish. I personally could not live in a city no matter the country. My now 'home town' is about 100kms north of Melbourne which has changed so much since I first walked it's streets when moving from Adelaide that I was lost the last time I visited it. A two traffic-light town suits me and I stopped driving 16 years ago because I didn't need a car. Hope you enjoy the Olympics, if you're going to witness some of the events and the weather is kind to you.

    Australia has some of the highest quality water in the world. I dare say our tap water is better than France however you’re completely right about the food quality being better in France. French people and Europeans in general take their food more seriously compared to Australians. Our food is more “Americanised”. I would assume your skin is feeling better because of the food you’re eating in France. What I love about euro countries and hate about Australia is we do not keep our historic architecture. We in Australia are always knocking down our historic buildings to make way for new developments which is super annoying. We have even had situations where buildings which are heritage listed have been demolished because a developer has paid enough money to get their way which usually means another apartment block is going up. Super annoying! I love how Europe takes pride in their history and still have buildings from thousands of years ago. Put it this way, if the colosseum was in Sydney, it would have been knocked down to make way for luxury apartments 😂.
