Hey Fredrik! Certainly this will come up in future videos. I'd say that, a lot of these issues boil down to EA's Greed. They severely under-invest in their team of developers. They severely under-invest in servers. That's all there is to it. They just don't care to serve the player base properly. They don't re-invest their insane profits into the user experience, at all. As for anything nefarious, it's hard to say for sure one way or the other. We would never find out anyway lol. But they make insane profit regardless of the game quality, as we can see. So to them, nothing is broken. Their money-making machine works perfectly well, regardless of what they spend on development & servers.

Hey Felix! Thank you so much, all I can say is what I plan to do. For me, I actually plan to complete this card closer to Black Friday, within 48 hours of it expiring. Possibly sooner, depending on how many Upgrade SBC Packs we get daily. I actually think it's worth it TBH. At least for someone like me. I'm in higher Divisions, I get good ranks in WL, I even get the weekly Rush OBJ Packs, Etc. For now though, I bought Putellas' Gold Card (in the dip before the SBC dropped, as that's always when they're the lowest price) to use until I decide to complete the POTM. Obviously that Gold Card is tremendously META & affordable for what you get. So if you're not 100% sure, I'd say just hold the Gold Card for now. But if you know you want to build around her, & Hansen for example, Etc. Then it's actually worth the upgrade. Hope that helps!

Sort of. The real IQ tests are Gamble Packs TBH. POTM Mbappe every year is at least 1M more than his Gold card or -1 version, at least. And high-ranking, Elite Division players always do those types of SBC's. I wouldn't call this SBC an IQ test TBH, but I agree with the sentiment that the Gold card at 300k is insane value compared to this SBC!

That's a fair point. I'm still certain a good percentage of 'pros' as EA calls this player pool, are not making a living wage after expenses. I'm certain of that. The question is more about, what % of this 'pro' player base is vs. isn't making a living wage. That's all my point is really. Of course some smaller % of them actually make a living wage, even 6-figures a few of them.

You make a great point that RNG needs to exist in many games, including a game like FIFA / EA FC. I'm not denying that at all. The massive, massive issue in this game currently, is that RNG doesn't just exist. It's that RNG is the predominant determinator of who wins & loses. This past WL, I beat someone in a 3-3 OT Game, in a Shootout, who was an insane player. I actually felt they deserved to beat me, but I somehow pulled it off. They were distinctly better than me. And I know this for certain, the vast majority of the community feels that a lot of the time when they lose a game, it doesn't necessarily feel like their opponent played better (as opposed to in past FIFA's, or in other video games). Rather, they feel like they lost to the RNG of that game. That shouldn't be the predominant feeling when losing. If I lose in another video game (I occasionally play The Finals with my cousins & friends), if I lose, 100% of the time I feel that the other team was better. There is 0 RNG in that game. 0.

For some people, yes, absolutely! Keep in mind, for the most META cards in the game, +1's always command about +1 Mill in cost on both the Market & SBC price though. That's just how it goes

I touched on that in the 2nd half of the vid (I know it's a longer video lmao), but essentially, if someone isn't playing the game consistently (Rush OBJ, Rivals, & WL), it makes a lot more sense to just buy the Gold, 100%. For those who do play the game, especially in higher divisions / WL Ranks, this POTM is actually a good SBC IMO TBH.

@@FUTNerdLife Got a Spurs RTG and another 11 with just players I enjoy watching IRL. I'm just trying to see how far I can get for now. I used to consistently reach Elite and Rank 3 but it forced my teams into such a meta state so I'm trying to drift away from that. :)

Hey Sam, much appreciated insight. Your perspective is exactly why I'm discussing these sorts of things. These issues have nothing to do with players' skill levels, or anything else. These issues are 100% a result of EA's greed. Simple as. If/when a competitor emerges with anything remotely comparable, many people will flood over there, give it a chance, and one day we may see another franchise take hold. Until then, I plan to be here discussing various aspects of this game.

Agreed, ideally the gap between lower league sides & META squads should be narrowed, especially compared to the gap in recent years. They can absolutely do a better job, but hopefully you're enjoying your lower league squad. I think as players move up in divisions (Imagine Elite, or going for Rank 2/1 in WL), it becomes more apparent how those types of teams fare against META squads played by extremely good/sweaty players.

100% Agreed, I acknowledged (at least I hope it was clear) that a minority of those players, are making a living. But majority aren't lol. And damn, yeah the rivals rewards situation is a complete joke😂Something that happens essentially automatically, every week, every year, all of a sudden, doesn't work, randomly, for some players. It's an extremely good question, and I think you're right that for many of us, it will only happen when we have a good alternative to EA. But, keep in mind, many people have already quit because of all of these glaring root issues.

@@jmiyagi12345 Holding the ball you can literally torture any nostalgic FIFA player. I remember most people couldn't hold the ball 45 minute older fifa's because of manual pressing and no train tracking from ea. (they slow you down in some kind of scenery fashion)

@ yugioh has a similar model where the power level is constantly pushed and the newer products have to always be better. But the thing more in line with what you are saying is that prizing on every level is a joke. Winning a local event at best gets you some store credit. Winning a regionals will get you a shotty unsellable playmat (so better hope you like the design) as well as a few booster packs and a deck box. But the worst part are the major events. They just updated there prizing for winning a YCS (a Yugioh championship series also the largest scale events aside from world tournaments) will get you at 1st/2nd a steam deck, some metal dice, and a 1 of like 200 card that sells for at most a grand . And this pales in comparison to the amount of money spent to build your deck (most meta decks cost atleast 1-2 grand) as well as travel to the event and room/board as most ycs are atleast 2 day events. So going to a single ycs can easily cost you 4-5 grand, and at best if you win the event you’ll make back half of that and god forbidden you go to multiple.

I 100% stand by this, I will never forget that, especially towards the end of FIFA 23, I distinctly remember it being an actual good game. FC 24 was a huge drop-off from FIFA 23, and FC 25 is a huge drop-off from FC 24. I'm convinced that anyone who thinks otherwise is tripping lol. I still remember how well skill moves were, even when I was a worse player than I am now lol, and finishing was infinitely more logical and rewarding than this dog sh*t backwards finishing

100%, Major, Major Issue

Dont agree with skill moves being nerfed was one of the things that always made fifa feel arcadey. I dont think defending should be nerfed. Attacking ai should be buffed. Attacking players stand still too much and dont even take good positions. Outside the box trivelas and finesse shots should be nerfed. Also corner kicks should have better options for defending them. Fifa 23 had overpowered defensive ai when using 5 at back formations that most pros had to rely on step overseas. Fifa 20 had even stronger defensive ai even the pros found it hard to score goals. Would be great if ea worked on the inconsistencies of passing, shooting and first touch not skill moves

Gold VVD & Theo Hernandez were om 100% of the teams, Mbappe was in majority of the teams. At this stage of their competition there is a 7M coin 'salary' for each team, so they have to stay within that cap. Other meta gold cards were popular as well, but those 3 are the most notable (says something about how broken Mbappe is that most pro's will use half the total team budget on 1 card lol)

Thanks Fredrik! Yeah I think it boils down to a combination of 2 things: Corruption & Incompetence. It's unbelievable that EA ban regular human activity. It's one thing to identify 'bot' behavior, but I've seen over my time playing, many instances of people getting banned simple for selling a Silver card at Max 5k Coins, just because it became a good candidate for a random EVO, lol. Absurd. Benefits EA because it disincentivizes trying to earn coins lol. So that's the corruption aspect, 100%. Also though, exemplifies another aspect of their incompetence. They could have a more logical set of parameters for banning people from the transfer market.

I wouldn't even mind paying for them but some of them are just so insanely priced. Like the newest one you can make some pretty nice and insane cards but 100k? The cards wouldn't even be 40k on the market and they want us to spend 100k. Last fifa I remember certain ones had 200k prices because they were icon upgrades. It makes no sense how they price these because dazzling dribbler a couple weeks ago only costed 10k which isn't bad

A paid season pass would be an absolute joke lol, As for Evos, I don't inherently have an issue with some of them costing coins, if they're reasonably priced for impressive upgrades. But as someone else mentioned here, often times that is not the case with paid Evos

I had a silver that I brought up to 85 on one, but sacrificed it in an SBC that netted me an 88 rated card. Could have also netted me an 81 rated card so it’s a crapshoot.
