Our farm, where I learnt to drive at the tender age of four, in North Cornwall is home to around 50 random vehicles all in varying states of repair, some of which haven't moved since the 1960's.
I have now decided to start occasionally documenting some of the projects and vehicle related things - sometimes serious, sometimes total nonsense.

Beyond salvageable? I bought a VERY rusty tractor (Part 1 of 2)
If you’re my way inclined, you will know how hard it is to refuse a project. When I was offered this Fordson Dexta, I couldn’t say no.

We fell in love with this Ford Granada GHIA X

I’ve never really been into old Ford’s. However, after buying this Granada for a film shoot, I couldn’t help but fall for it. As did my wife, Abi. Here’s why…

Unearthing my HONDA CIVIC VTI EG DOHC VTEC
Переглядів 7 тис.2 роки тому
After five or six years of being in storage, I thought it was about time to check out my beloved Honda Civic EG VTI DOHC VTEC B16. A car I admired so much growing up, it’s time it had some TLC, but worried about the state of it after all these years… All antics on the @morvRPM instagram: morvrpm
Uncovering my rare 80s hot hatch after 15 years - CITROEN VISA GTI
Переглядів 1,9 тис.3 роки тому
I have a very rare Citroen Visa GTI that I put into storage shortly after buying it, when I was 15, and having not looked at it in some years, I thought I’d take a closer look. Hopefully it’s of interest.
Defender TD5: Fuel Pump Replacement and Inspection Hatch

My Defender TD5 has been slow to start with a noisy pump. I replaced the fuel pump and to save dropping the tank out, I cut an inspection hatch in the back.
Driving this old Nuffield Tractor is surprising thrilling!
Переглядів 3 тис.4 роки тому
Believe it or not this old Nuffield tractor is our daily user. We think it’s great, considering it’s over 50 years old. I did recently have to fix it after it got stuck in reverse and then took it it for a spin!
Will this John Deere 2020 live again?

Our 1969 John Deere 2020 has been in a shed for many years and today is the day we get it out and running again. She was stubborn but always had faith! Of course she lives again - we love her!
Willys Jeep brought back to life!

Last week we pulled our beloved Willys Jeep out of a shed where it hadn’t turned a wheel since 1984. In this video we see if we can get it running again! I can’t quite believe the result!
Willys Army Jeep Uncovered After Nearly 40 Years!

This army Jeep has sat in the same spot since 1984 without turning a wheel. We undertake a mission to get it out and see what it’s like, with a few unexpected surprises along the way!
For 2006 110 Defender the pump location point is 38cm from LHS and 48cm from doorway. The main strut lies in the way and has to be cut. Too bad. And a 115mm angle grinder doesn’t reach the far side so bring a hacksaw. 😅 Difficulty in inserting the spring pump may be due to incorrect fitting of the plastic fuel gauge base. I notice you broke yours. Thanks for sharing.
Trust me, if that pump is disturbingly loud, you want to hear it and monitor when and how loud it is. If the pump is good and the fuel and/or tank is clean, you wont hear it.
mate thanks for video . I'm just curious before I cut mine do you think it could be possible to leave that long thin brace in and cut a square out to the side of it and still be able to get the pump out I'm just going to cover my spare hole with a piece of stainless. My tub is of the car at the min . Thanks
Thanks for the video, my pump just packed up last night and i want to replace it myself. Cheers mate.
So you have also cut through and removed a piece of the angle support strut supporting the floor!
Très bonne machine le 10/60 ou le 10/42 Salut du Québec Canada
Cheers man! I have known about the access cut-out method for years but never got around to doing. Was always unsure of how close the pipes and wiring were to the floor panel. The sludge is usually an algae. My pump has packed up completely, so time to bite the bullet and cut the floor...just my luck, it's an inch of snow and ice outside and I can't get into my shed...bummer! 🙂
this car gets around, it was also on Cornish car collectors
great cars. i drive a 85 (86) "every" day. 105hp carb. owned like 20 of them and i have 2 4x4 mk1 Scorpios. i guess i love them. The auto gearboxes steal so much hp. use the shifter if u gonna do 0-60 fast, if not it is gonna be slow like you showed
On point 👍
You don't have to question if Honda was the best back then, they were miles ahead of everyone else. And they still are the best, take a look at Formula 1. :)
Are you currently selling this car, or is it someone else who has it for sale in Cornwall?
It's a friend of mine (also in Cornwall) who now has it. He did the work on it and it's now back to it's former glory!
What show film was the granada in?
Bit of advice, don't start the car up like that, always pull a coil or leads off to prevent starting just so the engine can build oil pressure and get lubricated. This will prevent damage
Totally agree, usually always do. The b16 just inspires too much confidence!
had one years ago my first car hope u still have it.there worth about 10 grand in lreland now for a good one.
Nice one👍💪💯
The internet is funny, this car is for sale at the moment and now I've been recommended this video.
I know, I've had that happen loads. Miss the eg
@@morvrpm Hopefully it's new owner appreciates it, I would love a genuine Vti in the future but have an eg3 at the moment with an incredible 74hp. The love you described having for these cars is something I completely understand, the moment I first saw a picture of them I was hooked.
I've always had a weak spot for the 90-92 saloon models and I have owned a few of them over the years. First impression from everyone who got in was the space inside it and how comfortable it was. The optional RS styling improved the look of it, made it more edgy, but if you add a reasonable lowering kit and some bigger wheels to fill the aches too and it was a really cool car. Had a 1990 Ghia earlier with the complete RS styling, 40mm lower, 16" wheels and at the top of that, a 2.0 Cosworth engine from a Sierra, THAT was a fun car 😁
What film does it feature in?
It’s called Cornish Knockers - not out yet. Probably this summer I reckon on BBC
So weird how Ford Europe were that conservative in styling such a fundamentally good car. The Mk I Granada really made a statement. The Mk II not quite as much but still pretty strong. Even the US-spec Ford Taurus looks a lot edgier. This is almost anonymous until you get inside and find that they continued improving it. Of course this one at 125hp-with-an-auto-and-behind-on-throttle-cleaner is a bit underpowered....great deal for the price.
Did you ever get it sorted or just back in storage?
I can remember a granada scorpio cosworth hatch. brand new getting chased by the police. In our street in 1994 it looked the part bombing down the street lol . The granada was lovely machine it had electric rear seats as well full leather. big scorpio wheels 2.9 cosworth engine lsd diff the memories lol
A mate of mine had 2 of these one like this exactly the same in white on an H plate and a slightly later one on a K plate hatch. Love these I’ve got a real soft spot for them I’d have bought it for £1500. If I’d known it was for sale.
I bought a 2.9 ghia from Penryn auctions for £90 some years ago. It was a bit smokey when you put your foot down, but what a beast! And such a good car for road trips. Although going up Hamburger hill heading up country I floored it and mnanaged to get to 1mpg! I ran it back through the auctions soon after that. Nice car though.
Loved Penryn auction!
@@morvrpm Ye bought some great bangers from there and some decent ones too. It was a great loss when it closed.
I had a 1991 Granada Scorpio Cosworth hatchback I ran from 2004 until 2010. Metallic burgundy with black heated electric leather seats. Nice old bus. Would happily sit at 135 - 140mph (on a private test track). Took me and three mates to Le Mans in 2008 for the 24 hour sportscar race. Never missed a beat on that trip, although it liked to blow up transmissions. I went through three. The A4LD automatic transmission was a bit shit. The 'third' transmission was a combination of all the salvageable bits of the first two.
We had a H reg Granda Ghia growing up and the seats were incredibly comfortable. Was a lot of space inside as well. Looking at your video compared to a mdoern car it's actually not that wide. You are almost banging elbows. We had the hatch which is more practical. This generation actually has the newer 4 speed automatic not the 3 speed. I can't believe it has heated seats. Remember the ride being soft. Lovely on motorways and in town but a bit wallowy in the back on a country lane. The MPG was not strong. About 22mpg. Might get 30 on a long trip. The exhaust sounds a lot louder than a remember. Especially at low revs. Mind ours was the 2.9 v6 not the 2.0.
Thanks for sharing Paul. Yea think you’re right regarding width. Long and thin!
These are based on the sierra just stretched also its not a 90s car they came out in 1985
Pity it isn't the hatch ..which was a very good looking car indeed, however glad it isn't the final model which is best not discussed at all.
The problem is, in Cornwall, the second hand car market is shocking. You struggle to get a buyer, and popular cars are at least twice the price down here, as they are 100 miles up the line. In 2018 we bought a 2008 Peugeot partner Escapade in Bristol for £1,500 with a new MOT. The local garage to us in Saltash had the exact same model of car, with 20k more miles for £4,395. You tend to find that people who want a particular car aren't willing to travel down here to buy one. And people down here that are buying have a limited choice. That being said, if I had seen the granny for sale I would have bought it. I love old Fords. 9 of my first 12 cars were Fords. Cortina MK4, MK 2, 3 (x2) and 5 Escorts, a Capri, 2 Sierras, a MK2 Fiesta
You’re right, most of the interested buyers were too far away to be bothered unfortunately
4 speed auto
Back arches are rotten
Mostly filler!
The Older one was better!
Granny are great. I had a Cologne 2.9 gave too much for. We had a fire we had all Reg docs keys burnt so ended up scrapping as had water coolant problems. Seamed sad. Don’t scrap anything !!!
Drove an M reg 2.9i Scorpio many moons ago - one of the best cars I’ve ever driven………….
Has it sold now
I had a 5 door Scorpio, the best car I ever had
No reflection on you at all buddy, but I would keep Abs appearing on the channel if you’re looking to build up your subs. “There’s good, and there’s natural” - Abs is a natural. Hope the family are all super-well! 🙏🥰
Sometimes it’s nice to get an unbiased opinion, which is where Abi is great at finding different perspectives. All good thanks - We’ve now had our baby! Four days in 😮
“Let’s go and get a pastie” (and a piece of coal for Abs to chew on, maybe..)
I had the model before this one, it was a great car and I think it looked better than this one.
Good cars back then I had a few 2.ol 2.3 and the 2.8...mint cars..
I owned one 2.8, wish I still had it
I briefly had a G reg 2.0 granada scorpio fully loaded leather, air con, cruise control, etc even had electric rear seats. Cracking car
Beautiful car. My late dad had one from new 1990 - 2002, almost same exact spec as this: the beautiful dark blue metallic color outside, and that lovely blue velour on the inside. 2.0 DOCH automatic, too. BTW it is actually a 4-speed auto. Also, I believe that if you press the trip computer button once when it shows range, it then shows instantenious MPG, which I think is quite questionable to bring up when referring to it's consumption in general, since that varies from 0 to infinity depending on driving situation. I have found that on average this 2.0 auto takes around 6-7l/100km on a run (40-45 mpg imp.), but of course around town it consumes more, maybe 22-27 mpg. Still I find it quite reasonable considering the size of the vehicle. But it is not a fast car, that's for sure :)
Yes, you’re right re MPG. The average was saying 15mpg - I highly doubt that’s what it was actually achieving though.
I wish I’d have seen your Granada for sale as I would have given you the £1500 all day long!!
Those granadas from the late 80s were fantastic! I had a load of them back then. They were so supremely comfortable for a family and easy to work on, cheap parts, even back then. Ford managed to get a nice riding, and handling large vehicle for not a lot of cash.
It’s comfy even by todays standards - in fact, with the higher profile tyres and soft suspension (which nothing has now) it’s in ways actually better for comfort and road noise
IMO, the booted version of the Mk3 Granada loses the big appeal of the carrying capacity of the hatch. I also think that the rear 1/4 glass of the hatch looks very sleek. Still, great barge for £1k.
Agree. We had the hatch and it looked smarter and was more practical. Also you need the v6 engine for the ultimate luxury
@@paultasker7788 I have the ferrous-donkey 2.9i auto. I actually think that the manual 2.0i Ghia is the best engine/spec to have. Performance is about the same as the 2.9i auto (0-60 is fractionally quicker), fuel economy is much better. Ghia spec add kit that the poverty GL & L don't have (early GL didn't even have PAS as std).
Is that car in big boys don't cry?
If only it was a Mk2 Granada 2.8 Ghia X
I haven’t been in one since I was a kid. Would love to have a ride in one again now.
If William and Kate ever sell a car on you tube, this would be it .
First car I ever drove was a Granada Scorpio 2.9 v6 (non cosworth) when I was 6 around my grandads industrial estate. If I knew this was for sale so cheap I would of bought it 😂
Lovely to see a classic on the road 👌
