Hey Ken, super fun build. Where do you get the LED light strip?

Yes, correct, there are parts of the scaffolding partitions that have no rails. So the model is more or less in line with the actual prop. On the record cover and poster, the scaffolding is very red. On the film is more brown. The red is the one that pops .. to my eye anyway.

Looking Great Ken, I like the approach to painting the construction frames after they are glued , much neater finish .

Great video Ken. Those outer girder pieces you cut off. I left mine and then was unable to close the sides of the completed sections. In the end I cut mine off too. I think there is an error in the kit.

Hey, ken.... Long time watcher. first time poster.... I have a problem with your seeing of what's on the screen.... In your first shot of the station, Earth is on the right of the screen, station is rotating clockwise.... then a shot the Earth on the left.... station rotating counter-clockwise. Just a matter of perspective and I'm pretty sure the guys who put this together knew what they were doing.

I don't know how I could have missed this Video 2 months ago , Congratulations on the 2 Bronze Awards Ken . The Display Cases are Fantastic .

I think your idea about the space clipper, posed like the poster, is awesome.

Just use a real chain.

Ken if you had used a clear tube instead of the brass? Wouldn’t be much easier to lighten and made the exhaust effect much better? Well? I get now why you didn’t… you had or could use a clear ROD! It’s much more harder and won’t wiggle that easily and you had could light it from the station side and the ROD would glow… the brass tube you had could give a clear coat and that makes it insulated towards the LED SMD’S… but yeah! You are doing a great job anyways!👍

A _real_ nerd would calculate the "actual" diameter of the station and then do the maths to give the "actual" RPM needed to give ⅙ G at the rim..... 🤣

I think the shots of the Earth from the booth are correct for the station rotating anti-clockwise. I tested this by filming a video of a stationary object while I rotated my phone in a clockwise circle from my perspective - anti-clockwise if facing the lens - keeping the bottom of the phone always away from the center of the circle. When played back the stationary object looked like the Earth in the shots.

Ken, I got this in the mail last week and I'm aching to get started on it. We moved recently and my workshop is in shambles, so it likely won't be till September before I can start.

FYI, when a film maker chooses to break continuity for the narrative or visual effect it is called selective continuity. Francis Coppola did it several times in Apocalypse Now.

The slip ring is a clever solution for the wiring well done Ken.

How did you get his hips done? the instructions suck! they have the front hip part backwards, so I don't know where to put the leg peg at. please reply, I just want to finish him

Hi just wondering if you got any instructions for this? I received the kit a few weeks ago and it's a bit more complex than I was expecting. I tried asking Randy but he's not responding for some reason, so thought I'd check if you got any from him?

I have this lighting kit. It was nice to see the reactor panel because I was wondering how much light bleed I'd get. A lot, apparently, so lot's of light blocking on that. I'm curious though... does the black circuit block for the reactor lights buzz when you have it plugged in? Mine does, and I don't think that's right.
