😂 gonna make out with this amp OH yeah
Where is the test???'
I have one for 2 years. It's the best travel amp I tried. Keep it simple : less is more. It sounds nasty with my Fender Mustang, and I am pretty sure it will with a cigarbox too.
even more muddy than pro 30
sounds muddy compared to pro 16
Nice playing and good sound of an unfortunately chosen crappy piece of music.
I bought one a week back. It's OK. I bought it for busking, but am yet to busk with it.
Looking to run the smart pickup through a distortion pedal. Is that a possibility? I completely brand new to amps and pedals
I was thinking this company must be out of business. Most dealers must have chucked them since 10 years ago for some reason.
no energy player
sounds better than 20 and 1 types
sounds weak...
Sounds like a country amp
Didn’t even know the drummer from Cheap Trick played guitar…nice!
Kustom have FRFR Speaker?

A recommander vivement !
Kustom deserves to be more popular. Its like a hidden gem
This model might be better, but the kxb100 is a complete piece of garbage. The only way to turn it up is to turn the gain up and get an awful sound that easily clips and overheat's.
Sounds like a box of wasps
sometimes :-)
I can't get these in Australia any more :( just the head, no Cabs)
Can you do a shoot out with the old KG amps?
Not for nothing, but I can't hear anything
The volume is shit.
Yes, having to turn the gain up to get much volume and then it starts clipping badly once the gain is up very much, it's just a badly designed amp.
Does Kustom not want to sell any of these amps? This is not how you advertise
Some good picking on a good amp😎
Quality little amp. Haven't put it to the test out on the streets yet, but indoors it puts out a pretty decent sound level. Super clean sound:- No background white noise i.e hum or buzz. I've had a 20W Kustom Mains powered amp for a while now and am happy with the clarity that it produces. Same goes for the KGBAT10. Compact and lightweight. 2.835Kg (6.25lbs) So will fit easily in a backpack. Hope to try this out in a busking scenario soon. Kustom have kept this amp super simple. 2 Channels clean and overdriven. If you want other options you can always insert them into the signal path before you reach the KGBAT10. Foot-pedals/pre-amp/EQ on acoustic/electric guitar etc. In this sense you've essentially got a super low profile, 6-inch battery powered speaker putting out 15 Watts @ 4 Ohms. (according to owners manual/data sheet). It even had 6 AA batteries included with the amp. Not a massive thing, but they could always of not bothered. So Kudos to them. 9-12v DC mains power as well, but unfortuantely no adapter supplied. As aforementioned i've tried this inside and it works well. I'm not looking to blast down the street for outside performances, just to raise the guitar level by a couple of orders of magnitude, so that more technical playing can be heard, as opposed to being drowned out by the hubbub of the street. I'll try and get back regarding this, once i've tested it on the streets, but i suspect it will work well for what i require of it. A moderate boost to guitar volume levels for an acousto-electric guitar. Shame there isn't an XLR version, as I would like to give this speaker a try-out regarding vocals. However reverb is fairly essential, so it would mean using a pedal/module in the audio chain to accomplish this, as there is no onboard reverb module. Looking at the price for a Roland street cube which seems to be the go-to for many buskers (currently around £250) this little amp is pretty reasoanbly priced, around £64.99. It's very basic in terms of on-board functionality. Compared, for example to the effects/amp models available with the Roland Street Cube. But if you have the means to create your colour/ tone on a pre-amp (i.e on board eq/tone or foot-pedal). Then it does effectively work as a power-amp to boost the sound-level just fine.
*Update* Tested this in a street scenario and it really does do the job. Small town busking, puts out more than enough sound to drown out my singing. Granted i've not got a vocal amp yet, but i can project my voice well, and people were saying the guitar amp was too loud and was drowning out the vocals. (In a friendly way lol ;) Amp was at about half volume. *Boring Technical stuff follows*:- I also managed to rig a powerbank (20,000mah 5v @ 2.4A) to power a Saffire Pro 24 head unit, (Decent pre-amps onboard) via a 5v usb to 12v jack convertor. (£3.50 a unit for convertors, after P&P and worth their weight in gold) Big wow you might say, but actually it is fucking useful as fuck. It means you can then fire a decent condensor mic XLR stylee (AKG utilizing phantom power), into it and then out to a speaker. (i.e KGBAT10) Also as i've literately just thought this moment, but have not yet tested, you could actually use the powerbank to power the amp itself. Putting out theoretical 12w max from the powerbank should be enough to power the speaker. *Update* It was a good idea, but thats a negatory on powerbank powering the speaker. ;) At least with the Imuto 20,000mah = No joys. You can also firewire in/out at this point (SP24) via a laptop (starting to get a little more complex admittedly). But this allows for unlimited effects/processes to be applied in real-time. All this rig/set-up, speaker etc can still easily fit inside a (large) backpack, making for extremely portable busking abilities. I have tried out the KGBAT10 with a decent mic, via the aforementioned method, and unfortunately (as to be expected) vocals aren't it's forte. You get decent sound levels, but without a tweeter and/or horn, clarity is lacking. I was tempted to buy another to run vocals through, but being a sound purist will hang fire. So that brings me to a humble request for you fine folk at Kustom. Any chance you could create a vocal battery powered (busking) amp? I'm not talking a shitty karaoke machine lol, i'm simply talking same 10/15w sub woofer, plus a horn and tweeter. I'd hazard a guess that wattage isn't gonna be through the roof with these additions (thus able to still be battery powered) as the sub is what sucks up the juice for the most part. Imho there's potentially a bit of a niche in teh market for busking vocals atm,, as the alternate solution is one of those big karaoke jobbits you have to wheel around with you. Or a Roland street cube (£250-£300). You do a busking (vocal) amp as aforementioned. You'll find a new market open up to you. Again in my humble opinion. I'd pay £80 for such a device (basic volume controls) in a heart beat. Basically a decent battery powered speaker with line in (ideally XLR as well, but this becomes more complex If phantom power is involved)) utilziing the full frequency range. The only caveat is (and it's a fairly large one i guess), in order to make a decent vocal amp mass-marketable, your gonna have to have pre-amps, XLR and phantom power involved, (not everyone has external audio gear handy (aka SP24 for example) which will potentially add to the drain, and ultimately the complexity. If you could get the aforementioned down for under say £100 with a cursory reverb function as well (albeit with an option for line-in as well in order to bypass any on board pre-amps if desired, hey don't hate me but i really do rate those saffire pro pre-amps lol ;) then i reckon you'd be onto a winner winner chicken dinner. ;) You'd still be undercutting the competition substantially for a busking solution @ £65 for KGBAT10 and say £100 for VKGBAT10 (?) . total £165. Roland have gotten a wee bit greedy imho, and have cranked the prices of their street cube after/during this pandemic by a good £100 or so. There's scope for a decent vocal busking amp to accompany the KGBAT10 at the prices aforementioned. Anyways just an idea. Keep on rocking dudes ;). - dan
Update no 2) For any low budget buskers out there..some useful info follows.... Hackaday. I tried using a imuto 20a/h powerbank to power my busking amp when i first got it a while ago. No joys. No power light. So thought nothing of it (maybe too high drain) and proceeded to just use batteries. Tangent:- It was only recently and tatting around with a 1million lumen torch and trying to fully power it (will come back to this later) that it dawned upon me that it was something as simple as the wrong jack plug. Arbitrary test involving tin foil (to pad out larger jack) yielded promising results. A sound from the amp. No power button glow but a faint click. When i put the jack in. So next step find right jack. Found a 4 way jack plug, tested, didn't frixking work. Tested with multimeter, no voltage. Took it apart tested the individual jack, nominal power flow. Soldering iron to hand, soldered a quick fix, as proof of concept. Power flow success. Chocked this jack onto a 5v to 12v usb transformer (super useful bought 3 from ebay for about £3 or £4 a go) that i had snipped the end off in aforementioned tattings with torch. Plugged in. Bam blue power light. Tested to max volume seems to work well. Why is this useful? 1) For starters It's gonna save me a small fortune on batteries. Untested on duration but at a maximum 1a pull over 12v its about 12 w/h, (i dont think itll take 1amp, will likely be a fraction of that, as the sound volume is 10w, (not to be confused with power requirment), ill stick a multimeter in the circuit for a real world ma/h value) power bank capacity is 74 w/h. 2) its still fully portable. 3) Getting another imuto 20a/h (x4l) (about £25) to power a external sound card (sapphire pro 24) is possible. This opens up a shit ton of possibilities. Tangent:- I tested the 24 pro with the imuto powerbank and it worked immediately. Phantom power and all, havent tested firewire out but presuming itll do the trick. Drain on idle was 500ma (so 6wh). Power consumption credentials states max 1amp load @ 12v. So again max drain is 12wh so real world again probably 8-10 hours battery per powerbank full cycle. Key to both these sound tools working was the 5v to 12v usb (cant state the usefullness of these little devices enough). In summation. Tl:Dr Advice for buskers. Get small kustom 10w amp for super clean sound (£65) Get imuto powerbank (£20-25) for long rechargeable battery life 5v to 12v transformer (£3-£4) supplemental. Source either correct jack type when buying transformer, or source jack from elsewhere, snip wire and choca-bloc together.(hopefully free lol). = budget price busking 😉
Update 3) As an aside i went for the Behringer Mpa40-BT for vocals. @ £155 or so it's a really decent amp. Vocals via a battery powered condensor mic ( Audio Tehnica mb4k) (no phantom power on board the MPA40-BT unfortunately). Combined with the Kustom KGBAT-10 it has more than enough beans to busk a small town centre. A battery powered busking set-up @ a super compettitive price compared to the roland cube and/or street cube. Imho.
Update 4) Somewhat annoyingly 10 months down the line, and the regular input circuit has failed on my KGBAT10. However, i'm not too fussed because....@ only £65 1) It has more than paid itself off in that time from resources acquired via busking. 2) I've been tatting about with it utilizing unorthodox power supplies (powerbank). However tbf, i'm not sure if this has caused the input failure or not. 3) Aux In Still works. I can still make full use of the amp by using the pre-amp(s) on a guitar and then guitar pedal. Bought a cheap 1/4" to 3.5mm to go from pedal to amp Aux In. Case solved. 4) Finally got this badboy working with a Powerbank, thus saving money on batteries. It needed a hack or two which i shall now, in the interest of those technically minded folk out there, document. How to convert to powerbank power:- Pre-requisites:- An average level of electrical engineering skill.>> 2/5 difficulty. Soldering Iron and solder/flux. (Don't stress it's only for soldering input/output wires onto boost convertors, i.e not difficult) Powerbank:- i used an imuto 20,000mah X4L however it needed a hack, i shall elaborate on later. The Imuto 27,000mah (black and gold) did not need said hack. 5v to 12v Step-up Transformer:- I bought 10 units with adjustable potentiometer (5-40v) for £8 off Amazon. 80p per unit. Simply solder input/output wires to each unit, and your good to go. You could pay more and skip the soldering part. Thus negating need for soldering iron. ;) The ones i bought before hand @ about £3.50 each would suffice. 430 Ω resistor. This is solely in case you have a powerbank that doesn't play ball. With powerbanks in general if the current being drawn isn't hefty enough, they often power themselves down. The KGBAT10 only pulls a nominal 40ma when it's idling. (Efficient ;) So the powerbank keeps turning off, (little bit annoying ;) The Imuto X4L powers down with current draw below 55-60mah. So by putting a 430 Ω resistor in paralell with the speaker it ups the current draw marginally (68mah) and keeps said powerbank.... well.... powering. The Black and Gold Imuto 27,000 mah did not need a resistor hack as the power supply was consistent even at low levels. I also tried an INUI 20,000mah but the low current cut-off threshold was significantly higher at approx 160-170mah. (Put the old multimeter to the test lol ;). Thus a different hack might be required to pull more current and retain operability of amp from one of these. Went out of USB A into 5v >12v transformer and onto amp from each of these powerbanks. Tried this powerbank methodology out with a 2 hour busking set on saturday night (Imuto X4L 20,000mah) and went from 100% to 86%. So probably realistically your looking at about 12-14 hours of jamming per 100% charge. As opposed to about 6 or 7 hours with battieres. Caveats:- 430 Ω Resistor gets fairly hot. Although not hot enough to brown paper. That's good enough for me lol, but it's something you peeps in youtube land might wanna keep an eye on all the same. I'm not an electrical engineer so i don't know if there is a better method to marginally up the current draw, but from my limited experience said method works well. Warnings :- Be careful around capacitors, on any circuitry, they can shock ya ;) How i did it.... Unscrew back 6 screws. Remove back panel carefully along with amp unit. Remove internal speaker leads from speaker. White positive, black Neg. At this point you've got options...you could retain battery and DC Jack functionality, i chose to f*ck them off. Less hassle. Less complicated. If your following my route then the following... Snip or desolder the Battery wire(s), easily remove the + and - terminals from the battery compartment. (Frees up space in the battery compartment which is going to be used to house the 5v > 12v USB Transformer) Keep or repost the wires into the battery compartment as they are normally found. Electrical chocablock (or solder) the wires from the amp onto the + and - out of the transformer unit. Do this inside the battery compartment. Attach resistor on (12v boosted side) from + to - negative chocablock, or to soldered wires...creating paralell bridge. This is a requirment if you need to up the current draw as aforementioned. If you don't need to do this...don't lol. (At this point it's worth mentioning...I chose to have my powerbank external to the speaker however, it is possible to fit an imuto X4L inside the speaker cab itself. If your doing this orientate your transformer and powerbank as you see fit. I wasn't sure how the magnetic field of the speaker might affect the Powerbank performance so chose not to pursue this path.) Attach micro USB to 5v side of transformer and thread then wire through locking mechanism on battery compartment door. (To do this you may need to slightly break the plastic fastener slightly). Shut and seal battery compartment door with electrical tape if needs be. Attach to powerbank and jam! ;)
J'adore !!! cet ampli est trop mignon !!!
This amp is also good for electric guitars too.
It was first amp I ever bought and actually I am using it mostly with my electric guitar xD
Sabes si suena bien con pedales de efecto y con una guitarra eléctrica? Lo quiero probar...pls
I got mine in January this year after waiting 4 months for it to ship. It's very loud! It sounds great with the on board distortion and the reverb, delay and chorus are okay. Leave it on the clean channel and plug into the front with a Distortion and an EQ and you are set. I bought the half stack for that purpose and when it came in it delivered. It does really well with live gigs. It's heavy and built sturdy. It looks like a classic amp at first look, but it screams METAL!!!!
made in?
If it sounds decent (and it does), it honestly doesn't even matter where it's from
china
Killer sounding bass guitar! Nice playing
What speakers come in the Kustom 4 x12 cab?
Just got my Kustom half stack and I play rock, metal of all kinds, blues and anything else I tinker with. I bout mine for live gigs. It sounds amazing. I play through effects pedals and have my own tone that I can't live without, but the Kustom kg100hfx sounds great to me as a stand alone amp sound. It is loud and my pedal chain sounds awesome through it. I wouldn't waste my money and time on the Marshall MG Series or the Randall RG 100 series half stacks. The Kustom is a great low budget way to go and not only sounds good it's also built like a tank with both the head and cab being heavy. Feels like quality.
is there reverb or echo on it
It has many effects and combination of them
I wish it had headphone out, since it's a personal monitor amp. If the stage becomes loud enough, its a good option to use a headphone and the KPX5M will serve as a headphone amp.
How does this sound with guitar? Can it doom?
Where are these for sale??? I purchased one at Musicians friend around 2 years ago and now they show no stock. The pass thru was the perfect solution for the "more ME" singers without affecting the other mixes. we would like to purchase 3-4 more of this model.
guitar center
I like the thru feature. A quick search and I can't find this for sale anywhere. Shows unavailable or out of stock everywhere.
Why don't you made a patch of the kustom K200 A4 model? Including the effects for trem-vibe, selective boost and the harmonic clipper, it is an amp with a unic sound that is difficult to create an equivalent
Possibly the worst sounding amp ever...
It certainly is the poorest modeler out there... You can't even tweak these silly tones
For a student, you can't beat the price tag ($99) for a 20W amp/combo. For example, one of my teen daughters, whom I am teaching, this is a gem.
