Why Jamie Carragher is Wrong About Trent Alexander-Arnold [Football Opinion]
it is necessary to reduce the number of games in national leagues.
Paul Scholes was one of the greatest players to ever live, but he knows fuck all about anything that isn’t playing his old position. He’s just been salty they didn’t hire one of his old teammates and cut off Ferguson’s welfare checks. His position is not rooted in football, it’s rooted in the fact Ineos aren’t living in the past anymore
They are 15th in the league dude, what are you talking about?
How are the smaller teams ever going to compete when one of the revenue streams they have available is reduced because of PSR. It's crazy that smaller clubs are forced to sell their assets to the bigger clubs at a reduced fee. PSR in itself is good, but not very useful when in 2013 it's brought in and everyone has to follow the rules regardless of where they are financially as a club, so it inherently benefited the club's with the biggest revenues at the time and basically stopped any other clubs from ever reaching that same level. At the time the top 6 was basically set, 4 champions league and 2 Europa league. They could've at the time brought the rules in and capped the top 6 clubs losses to where they were and given the rest of the league maybe 2/3 years to grow their revenues. That might have allowed your Villa's, Everton's, Newcastle's and West Ham's to potentially reach their level. The problem you'd still have today is that instead of 6 clubs with a baked in advantage you'd have 10 or 12 maybe and God forbid it got to 14. You'd possibly end up with 14 clubs who are reasonably financially close to eachother and they'd have full voting rights over the league to bring in any rules they want.
Feel like its mostly on russell Martin. Incredibly overated manager who sacrificed the club for his career. They have a top half championship defence trying to play it out. They do have a few decent players in Dibling. Expect them to finish like Huddersfield on around 15 points.
Most likely yeah, and I think they showed they'll be fine after they go down. Very encouraging win v Swnasea in the FA Cup. Just not good enough for the Premier League - GH
Prostate fc 👀👀
It's in support of Prostate Cancer UK...
There is something extremely comedic, yet beautiful, to see Harry Maguire, a guy who has, unfortunately, garnered a reputation of being as nimble as a hippo trying to do ballet, to be the furtherest player for Man Utd inside Liverpool's box and almost scoring a winner 😂
"As nimble as a hippo trying to do ballet" - I'm going to use that one at some point haha - GH
Utd come out to play 2 times in the season . Both against Liverpool😂
Usually the case, haha! - GH

So intresting
Birmingham City fan, can understand where you came from with the predictions. We were unlucky, in terms of points to go down. But we had been on a downward spiral for a number years prior. Being around the relegation zone a few seasons. Whilst there was positivity around the club, plus the investment. There was also risk. Looking back to the Eustace sacking and hiring Rooney. Huddersfield, Wycombe and Wrexham could be up there, will be tight, for sure I thought Lincoln and Charlton could be up there. Rotherham, surprised me, have a track record of going up and down between League one and the Championship of late. Wigan looked good against Birmingham. Happy with the 3-0 away win, just gone. But give Wigan credit they could easily have had a couple themselves. So was surprised they weren't higher up. Maybe if they could sort out the finishing they will be.
At least one Brum fan has sympathy for me haha Rotherham and Wigan have shocked me as well, both been prone to be yoyo clubs between the Champ and League One in recent times, but both having an off season for sure - GH
"I think they will do it" Oh how how wrong you will be. We are finishing mid table like our lives depend on it
I see you're an optimist haha - GH
Do ya research next time there was positivity for the first time ever even before we were relegated to League One. We're in for a shockkkk we're Birmingham City we're in for a shock!! Shite league easy easy easy
Imagine losing to the shrews. I'd fold my club on the spot if that was me
@Yash-hr3uv we like to take the piss sometimes and let the small fishes think they actually have a chance eeezehh eeezeh
Negativity at Birmingham!? Selling out every game and spent £30 million on players. Atleast do some research...
These predictions were originally made before the season started, you certainly wasn't selling out St Andrews every game last season lol - GH
@@FutbolChronicle You're just showing your lack of knowledge. We sold-out St Andrews regularly in that relegation season. We were hampered as two stands had to be closed for repair, but as they re-opened they sold-out. Embarrassing.
@@tommyswarvideo Mate, West Brom got bigger crowds than you lot last season. Not even the second-best supported side in Birmingham 🤣
@@FutbolChronicle As I said, a good portion of two stands were closed while they were rebuilt. Clearly that's going to affect attendances. With the stands now open in the 2024-25 season we're averaging 26,684 , West Brom are averaging 24,869. That's with West Brom in the Championship, Blues in League One. Honestly, leave it, it's getting embarrassing now.
@@tommyswarvideo🎣 so easily triggered 😂😂😂
Negativity around birmingham?! Mate, things are more positive than they have ever been.
💯 agree Mza. No negativity at Blues, the place is buzzing, filling every game home and away. Some mild complaints when we play badly but overall we all get it, it's a tough league.
These predictions were originally made before the season started, but I agree you've definitely turned things round and looking like bouncing back at the first aatempt - GH
Birmingham fan here.. As everyone kept saying were in for a shock 😂
@@loken9124 I'm shocked we haven't battered every team.
@mzaking I'm a little disappointed we haven't stuck a load past at least one opponent by now but you have to remember every team we play sit all 11 behind the ball and defend (until recently so hopefully that opens things up for us if more teams come at us). We had a new, new manager and a new team with a new ethos, trying to turn around that failing ethos for the last 12 years into a winning team. I still think we will eventually demolish someone. KRO
@loken9124 I know mate it was tongue in cheek comment. If we carry on Saturdays performance I've no doubt we will start smashing teams. We were amazing Saturday.
Ime a Birmingham fan too & just want to stress my respect for every other team in the league we're in, I dont expect it to be a walk in the park, it's a long long road & we will get bloody noses, but I hope we get promoted & sure we will but I don't expect it to be easy. KRO 👊
@jahmah519 certainly not, Wycombe are pushing us hard.
Don’t give up the day job
Fantastic banter mate, you should try performing standup - GH
Is that a huge egg I see hanging off your face ?
Nope. Out of five leagues, these were my worst calls for sure, but that's the point of the bold predictions, just a bit of fun - GH
@ ok maybe you are just a Birmingham City hater .
@@markfewtrell5242 No, I just wanted to go for predictions against the bookies' odds. Brum were big favourites to go up, I didn't think it'd be as easy for them as it has been for them, so I went for it. Some you win, some you lose, I've done better in my other predictions, but League 1 is definitely the lowlight of the five leagues - GH
As a Wrexham fan of 40+ years, I can confirm that we are utter shite at playoffs! I think the window is where automatic promotion will be won or lost. A striker is a must right now.
Oh sh*t so glad to see a Wrexham fan that aint just a big 6 fan who thinks there cool and hippster for supporting you
The Birmingham fans both home and away are awesome in big numbers. They are so appreciated by the players who openly say they give them a huge push. I believe promotion for Wrexham could be a bridge to far.
It might be a bridge too far… but we’re gonna have a go at it. Wycombe are losing lots of players. The jan window might determine who gets 2nd. Wrexham/Wycombe or Huddersfield. Hope we get a decent January striker.
Plymouth, Hull and Millwall to go down.
Millwall is a bold call, do you think Alex Neil won't work out for them? - GH
@ I’m a Millwall fan. We’re on crap form at the moment. We’re going down.
@aceisherewell, let's see. 7 point gap to the bottom three, long way to go still, though
We (🇧🇬) ain't gonna make it, I'm sorry.😑
Bulgarian football has a lot of problems these days, it's very sad to see - GH
Yes, there should be a base salary, and then performance incentive bonuses, leading the player to determine their own pay cheque based on effort and performance. Maybe have a Low, Mid and High tier base like 80K, 120K, 160K PW base salaries and bonuses based on performance. Players lack effort at united, they made it they're earning stupid money and the drive and desire to do more to be better and get to the next level isn't there when you can be shit and earn 200K 300K 350K a week
I would like to see Luke Shaw on a pay as you play contract
Really? What about leaving the club, he's gonna play like 10 games a season if that. Get rid.
Glad I'm not the only one thinking this.
They need to tie more of these wages to performance bonuses from the beginning. rashford could be worth 350k a week... or he could be an active hindrance. This isn't sustainable
Yes ,its a complicated subject. Still i agree with your overall take. The only thing i might add is that the club wont miss 300, 500 or more per week. United is a very big business and the players salaries barely make a dent in the seasonal budget. And whoever makes 300k or more per week , generally had to sacrifice their youth to achieve this kind of level of peeformance, even if throughout their career they might seem they dont deserve the pay they are on.
I wouldn’t condemn Pompey yet the home form has been creeping up 13/15 points from their last 5 home games if they can sort the abysmal away form they could definitely stay up
Oh yeah, it's not over by any means. But that's the operative word, "if" - and it'll take a bit uptick in form. I hope they do it though, their fans have been through hell over this last ten years or so - GH
wednesday relegated was such a stupid prediction, mostly had playoff form last season when rohl came in, and with that squad…
More out of hope than expectation, but I honestly thought there would be a chance given how poor of a squad they have. Rohl's working miracles with them, unfortuntely... - GH
Pompey’s survival is very much dependent on this transfer window. An experienced CB and CM would do a lot to help.
Oh yeah, it's not over by any means. But it'll take a bit uptick in form. I hope they do it though, their fans have been through hell over this last ten years or so - GH
Here in the Republic of Ireland, St Stephen’s day is often the day when the Munster vs Leinster Christmas derby match is played so football still occurs, just not association football as domestic association football has been summer season for the last 20 odd years.
Interesting stuff! So, there is football played in the Republic, just not assocation, thanks for the info - GH
@ The big three are either Gaelic Football or Association Football as number one and number two or vice versa, depending on who you ask, then it is Rugby Union Football in third.
Oh dear.. not going to plan 😂😂
Mid-season updates are on the way for all the EFL Leagues as well as the National League and Prem, I'm sure it'll be fun! haha - GH
He is right. You're not Scouse so you will never understand
So, you think that Trent's legacy at Liverpool would be tainted if he left? Even though it's the club that hasn't made him a good enough offer? - GH

Potential title deciding game between City & Lpool on Sunday. 3 of the officials from Manchester. Does that sound like a good choice for an officiating team. Hardly neutral.
