Depending on where you live, the materials could be less...and yes, I took the course myself, paid for it, and it's the best financial decision I could have made for myself and my daughter. After you have taken the class and worked your first season to get experience, you can go job shopping to see which tax service pays the best! This is a good way to get a flexible career going at waaaay less than a single college course costs these days. And if you don't like it, you haven't got student loan debt to contend with! If you do like it then you will be happy to know that there are job openings everywhere, so you aren't tied to a location based solely on where you work.
