What happened when the special version 5.0 program was ended? During the livestream, Hoyoverse made some major announcements and revelations-by which I mean, some extremely unexpected ones. As part of version 5.0's fourth anniversary, Hoyoverse has chosen to gift us a free five-star character from the standard banner of our choice. Furthermore, with each anniversary patch, we will be able to select a free five-star standard banner character.
How in the world did the beta testers not inform us about this? Was it possible for Hoyoverse to hide anything this massive from the leakers? To tell the truth, I wasn't expecting this at all. not only are they giving us a free five-star for the anniversary, but they are also giving us a free pet, a gadget, and twenty additional pulls. While some may not find it major, we experienced players are not expecting Genshin taking this step.
We expect to get about three pulls, but a free five-star character? Why this sudden change in mood? Is it because they always intended to do that, or did they decide to do it after witnessing the Wuthering Waves developers provide us a free, limited-edition, five-star character? Have they learned their lesson, and can we expect to get a free five-star character in the future? I'm not sure, but one thing is certain: Wuthering Waves is the cause of this reward.
You will be surprised with all of the features in version 5.0. The rewards we receive for completing quests, exploring the overworld, and receiving free materials to rapidly level up our characters to level 60 are all being increased, among other changes. Furthermore, WuWa was undoubtedly the reason of this. compared to Genshin, every other gacha game offers more benefits.
even though Hoyoverse's other games, such as Honkai Star Rail and Honkai Impact 3rd, offer far more than Genshin does, it has been more than a year since Star Rail dropped, and it is unclear how long it has been since Honkai Impact 3rd dropped. Despite this, they did not care to increase the rewards at the time, even though players-including Chinese players-were angry at Hoyoverse. Hoyoverse is behaving really generous all of a sudden, and I'm glad they're doing it at last. And we were right-after seeing the Wuthering Waves developers, they have come to value their player base. Better late than never, I suppose.
