Thanks for the detailed review!
what a crazy genius! Reeses with Fluff for s'mores! mad wonderful😉
It was even better than I thought it would be. Reesies was my favorite out of the options we had.
Great vid man keep em coming
Thanks!!! I will.
Thank you for sharing campsite and pleasure to meet you all
Thanks for the company. It was a great time!!!
Sorry for ruining your bacon! Nice meeting you! See you out there🤙🏼
Bacon was screwed when I overcrowded the pan, but if I can make an excuse I'm going to lol
@@AccidentalOverlander hahah glad I came back to meet you man. Let’s go explore some time 🤙🏼
It was nice meeting you and hope to see you up there again sometime.
Great time meeting you guys too. Penelope still loves the Hershey kiss
Hi, great stuff. I enjoy the GWNF too as often as I can! Where's the campspot with the view? My brother from Denver is coming in for some camping. I live in Lynchburg if anyone wants to caravan some trails this Fall, lmk. I liked the video, am watching others now =)
For sure. I have no problem helping you out. Will you either send me an email or message me on Instagram and I'll get you settled up
Thanks for review! Really apreciate the thorough rain test 💯💯
I'm glad it helped you. It is still holding up well for me too!!!
Have you done an updated review now that you have used it?
No, I never made a follow-up. I love the tent and still use it all the time. But, it seemed the company that made it stopped making it. I just searched on Amazon and saw that another company looks to be making the same one so maybe I could do a video. I just didn't want to make it if you're not able to buy it anyway.
Unfortunately I’ll have to take it off every time I need propane. Because my tank sets behind the bumper. So I only have about 14 inches of play between the tank and Wilco tire carrier.
That is a bummer. But you definitely need the propane.
There are 3D printed phone holders, one on Etsy I've seen. I use a CD slot type with an extention thing so it comes up higher, Amazon.
Loction
That is not how we ask for things.
this place looks amazing, any chance you can share the coordinates!!!
Yeah man for sure. Are you able to email me or send a message on IG I'll get back to you.
Your daughter is absolutely adorable! lol Love the video!
@@jamesdeel5347 thanks
Watching your video reminds me of taking my daughter camping 20 years ago and turning her loose with my Sony 8mm camcorder! So much fun and so important as a dad having our daughters experience the outdoors at an early age.
She definitely loves the camera. Most of it doesn't make the video. But I can't wait to watch it in the future.
camping on a waterbed! cool idea --' it tis what it tis'.
At least that only lasted about 20 minutes. Dog didn't know what to do lol.
You have a wife, a daughter, and a dog. You’re truly blessed. I bet you are a very happy man.
Absolutely. Thank you.
Great video. Love those spots.
Thanks!!! Always fun camping around new areas.
Hey, I just found your channel. I’m always looking for places explore in Virginia. Where does this road start?
It's called Alhambra Rd by the South Fork Piney River. Easy driving and not a super long road.
@@AccidentalOverlander thanks! Can’t wait to check it out.
it's a weird world with a skinhead nazi making pretend homeless videos in an all leather lexus suv...
Your daught will put a smile on anyone's face. Absolutely cutes thing.
I love that spot on night 2.... and that pullout with the amazing view is one of my lunch stops!
Yeah it was awesome. The little drive up to the campsite and roundabout is nice too. I couldn't get enough of that view. Half of my time was spent walking back and forth to it, until the snake lol.
Cook a steak about 5 or 10 minutes on each side and you'll be good
Thanks
You dint show the floor and the side floor, I saw a glimpse and it looked like it’s separating? So air, bugs and water will go in?
Hey!!! So it is a double-walled tent (I know a little more about it then I did when I was filming). There is a floor, but it does not have a bathtub style floor (which is what I think you're talking about with the side floor). The rainfly, that is the outer wall, doesn't go all the way to the ground so air can fly in a little bit. But the net fully covers you so you do not have to worry about bugs at all. I've also never had any problems with it leaking in a rainstorm either.
The paint job looks odd, all lumpy in the video. But good advice if uncomfortable move on.
@anthonysimpson6738 it's raptor liner. It's usually used in the back of truck beds. It's a little more durable and scratch resistant. But you are not going to get a clean, sleek look like a normal paint job. So it would just be personal preference. Thanks for watching
@@AccidentalOverlander I think if going camping it makes sense more scratch resistant thanks for explaining
Nice video and thanks for posting. My kids love any campsite on the creek so they can play in the water. I've been around long enough and explored around the world enough to know that we as humans have dulled senses compered to animals, but those senses are still there and can warn us in subtle ways. Could be an odor, maybe an animal or something that the deep mind recognizes as a threat or issue, but isn't registered in the conscious mind due to the sublimity. You were smart and aware to register it and decidedly move on. Other wise you wouldn't have had a good nights sleep. That place may feel perfectly fine in a few days or so considering the conditions.
There's nothing better than a creek next to the site. I still may have just been being lazy, lol, but I'm glad I didn't take the chance. I definitely want to try and stay there another time.
Nice video and thanks for posting. We are pushing north and working our way into exploring the VA wilderness so this is helpful. Lovely campsite and I appreciate that you showed setting up camp. Glad to see a fellow tent camper when the RTT is all the rage now. Hope to see you out there on the trail.
Thank you!! I would like to try a RTT one day, but I think I'll prefer a ground tent. I enjoy the space and freedom to put the tent wherever I want. Enjoy the outdoors!!!
Hey buddy do you have the coordinates for this location? I'm headed out that way this weekend and looking for a camping spot. Thanks!
Yeah. Can you message me on IG?
Will do!
She is a cutie!
If your left-side burner is off, with a cast iron skillet, just slide the skillet from the flame to the "cold" side for a couple of minutes to moderate the heat. Heat retention in cast iron cookware is great, so it will still keep cooking and not overheat.
Thanks, I'll give that a try
I tow a 26 foot travel trailer into that forest. Although the roads typically get potholes in them, with the occasional wash outs and washboard, it isn't necessary to air down for traction on those roads. As the content creator stated, he did it for comfort. Surprised though he felt the need to do that in a Lexus. I have found that slowing down in my 1 ton truck makes the ride on those roads a lot smoother. Good quality video and good editing job.
You are right. Airing down there is unnecessary, but sometimes you never know what you'll hit. I have eventually found some turn-off roads that are pretty rocky. But I wouldn't take a 26' trailer there lol. Thanks for watching!! I may need to get some camping tips from you.
Hey man can you help my wife and I ? We need better information on what you’re doing so we can do the same thing. We would rather camp in places like you did we don’t like having a bunch of people camping with us.
You can message me on IG of you want. That area here is called Switzer Lake and is great for camping
If there's one thing I learned from David Paulites it is that if you feel creeped out you should leave the area immediately.
I may of had lunch first, but I didn't waste too much time
Watching your video was very refreshing. You seem so humble and honest. Im glad you didnt stay at the first site. It was too remote. The other had a very good vibe to it. Good job😊👍
Thank you!! I'm glad I left too, I've wanted to stay at the other site for awhile so it worked out well.
Will never ever go back there
I have been to a campsite that gave me the creeps I left in the middle of the night left my tent and everything came back in the am took a nap and left lololololol I felt OK during the day but at night I kept hearing something bumping up against my talegate I woke up and was out of there lolololol freaking creep me out bad
Those weird sounds always come out at night lol. I try to pay attention to all the sounds during the day as best as I can. One time I went to sleep. The second I turned the lights out I could hear a scratching on the tent, when I turned the light on again it would stop. It was freaking me out. I eventually saw a little mouse climbing to the roof of the tent haha.
Always trust your intuition. We have it for a reason.
I had to. Didn't make sense staying in a place that gave me a weird feeling. Even if it was an amazing campsite
instincts brother, we have them for a reason!
Hell yeah. Better to be safe than sorry.
That is a windy camp. My Gazelle went rolling through the campsite on a camp similar to this one
Mine was close. I got it staked down right before that gust that imploded the wall thankfully. Wind was done 20 minutes after setup anyway haha.
i am only driver, size irrelevant 91 Octane is 10% more won’t break me as i only drive 550/month. Love torque of V8 without Turbos! @ $13,000 a year ago its better than my wife’s 2018 GX460 (mine 2006 with 218,415 odometer) She spent $60,000!
Love it!!! Keep treating it right and it will go another 250,000.

I tend to stay away from campsites with loud streams if I'm not familiar with the area. I don't like having one of my major senses taken from me.
Makes a lot of sense. I wouldn't say the stream at that site was too loud. There were a lot of trails that ended up at that site which was kind of weird. Originally I thought the picnic table and fish cleaning table were cool, but I think they gave me a strange vibe the longer I was there too. Crazy or not I'm here to camp another day lol
It seemed like a beautiful, serene campsite. Hopefully, that spooky feeling was just a mirage.
It was really nice. Not sure what it was. But I am going to go by it again so I'll see if it's different next time.
That's a very remote site. If your spidey-senses are warning you, listen to them. Much easier to drive out in the daytime at a leisurely pace, then attempt to flee in the middle of the night.
Agreed. Something wasn't sitting right. It was hard to leave a site so beautiful, but it was definitely the right choice.
I really enjoyed your video, I have heath and anxiety issues but still enjoy being out in the forest
Thank you! Sorry to hear about your health issues. I can go through some stress and anxiety out there by myself, especially at night. But being outdoors does feel nice.
Will be up here this weekend! Any recs on finding a good camp site at Switzer?
If you email me or message me on IG. I can see what I can so to help you out
great stuff
Thank you!!!
❤❤❤❤❤
would it be hard to get a small trailer in and out of there?
I've never towed a trailer so I'm hesitant to answer. But, yes I think driving it through the main road would be easy. If you turned off, where I found the super windy campsite I didn't stay, it would be harder for a trailer.
Thank you for posting. I enjoyed it.
Awesome!!!! Thank you
