Ride MTB
Приєднався 9 січ 2020
A channel dedicated to simply riding mtb trails.
I post previews, short clips, pictures of the places I ride and what I ride on, on my Instagram page: __ridemtb
About:
I started mountain biking in 2018 and since then have taught myself how to service, repair and replace all components of my bike and also how to properly ride trails. This is my passion and I continue to improve my skills in both mechanical and riding aspects of mountain biking. I created this channel for entertainment, and the types of videos I post are the types of videos I like to watch myself. I also post these videos to show others what the trails are like so they are not riding blind (to a point). I may in the future, post mechanical tutorials to help those who like to tinker on their own bikes.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and I hope you enjoy the videos I post here on mu channel.

Coed-y-Brenin MTB | Tarw Du
A black graded, approximately 20km trail at Coed-y-Brenin.
Includes the infamous Y Slab trails with the slabs featuring right at the top and beginning the very first trail. Followed by the slabs, there's a big drop, but all slabs and the drop are avoidable with a path going past.
The rest of the trails are very rocky with lots tech sections. They're not too steep for a black run, so some areas require pedalling over tech to maintain speed.

ZORRO IS BACK! | Bwlch Nant yr Arian MTB
Переглядів 1,1 тис.Рік тому
After almost half a year of the mark of zorro trail being closed due to tree felling, it has finally opened. Even though its the exact same trail I've ridden so many times, some parts feel completely different.

My first mtb event. The video is only one lap and i have skipped most of the boring climbing and walking parts. Enjoy!
COED-Y-BRENIN MTB | Cyflym Coch + extras
Переглядів 3982 роки тому
The full Cyflym Coch trail (i think) at Coed-y-Brenin including some slightly more challenging trails on a very wet day. These trails are graded red with technical climbs and some rough descending and lots of undulating terrain!
25 Minutes Of Rough Single-track Descending On A Hardtail

A shortened version (just descending) of my epic, 8 hour day at Cwmcarn. Consisting of the Cafall, Pwca and Twrch.
BIKEPARK WALES | Kermit (full green trail)
Переглядів 2403 роки тому
The 5km long green Kermit trail at BPW. Perfect for beginners but you can still get a lot of speed down this. Excuse the camera rattle, found out at the end of the trail, my gopro mount was hanging off 😂.
STEEP CWMCARN SINGLETRACK | Riding the Ragley on the steep Cafall Hideout Trail

This one's right at the top of Cwmcarn's Cafall trail. Amazing views with some great descending and techy last section.
HARDTAIL ON A BLACK TRAIL | Climachx Section 8/Tony The Tiger
Переглядів 1313 роки тому
After my hard crash last year, I was discouraged to come to this trail. Finally managing to come back here and not only complete it on a hardtail, but doing it faster, without stopping, cleaning every feature, including ones I had walked has got to be one of my biggest mtb achievements.

Aberystwyth Constitution Hill Downhill MTB
Going back to Aber in a couple weeks. Maybe we can grab a beer? :D
Hardest part of the beast is the 1st 200m 😂 they set the qualifying run harder than anything else...the rest i found to be less challenging. Its a great trail i love it
Great looking track, thanks for posting. Does this mean that all of the Syfydrin trail is open now?
Yes, syfydryn is open. However, the hippity hop section is closed due to felling. No idea how long. Hopefully not as long as zorro was 😅
@@ridemtb5146 Great thanks dude.
Nice ride man.
Thanks dude!
this vid gives a good representation of how hard the beast can be, certainly that was my experience riding it for the first time.
Thank you, it definitely is a bit tricky of your not used to these sorts of rocky trails. I remember doing each of the black trails for the first time and had absolutely no idea what lines to take and even walking a few times 😅.
Nice video. Instagram brought me here 👍 subbed. Do enjoy Coed y brenin, done the MBR a couple of times and the Minotaur while I was there.
Thanks for the sub! I've subbed back. Glad you enjoyed it, it's one my favourite places to ride, im lucky i live fairly close
@@ridemtb5146 cheers mate!
good video but did you do it in a different order as listed because one moment you are at the top, then the bottom, back up the top, did not flow as it should
Yes, i try to do as many of the trails as possible with all of the climbs which is probably why it's a little different to "correct" beast trail.
Such a good video. I used to run up this hill, then do uphill sprints on the path at 2:15, when I was in the best shape of my life, 6 years ago. Thanks for helping me relive it. Never knew about the alternate path though ha ha
Thank you. I used to do sprints up it too haha. It's a lot steeper than it looks. I haven't been up there for a while now but it's a lot different than it used to be.
@@ridemtb5146 Oh yeah, I can't find a video that shows how steep it is, it's a character-builder haha You still in Aber?
@@SavingPrivateBob it's hard to show on gopro how steep anything is unfortunately. And yes I'm still in aber.
Haha love how you skipped past the technical climb hate that section but love the trail! Keep it up
Who wants to see a boring slow tech climb 😂. Thanks man!
I just bought one of these forks, glad I read your review in description for the tips about grease and 15w oil
hi mate what is your current adjustment for your fork? high speed , lowspeed and rebound?
When I was using it, I used it with low speed open and 1 or 2 clicks of high speed. But i won't recommend this to anyone as this is what i found best suits my specific riding style. You might have to experiment on what works for you.
my brother goes there
i like you
Nice POV footage, love those big al's, almost got one myself but couldn't find one in my size so went with an Orange P7. Subbed to your channel :)
I got this fork for my Sondors Full Suspension E-Bike Rockstar. I was going to go with a Rockshox Yari, like most other Rockstar owners. However, I got a great deal on this fork. I am no MTB expert, but I love the fork for my style of riding in Northern Virginia. The small bump compliance is there for me and it will take some good amount of hits out of the trails. I got mine with 130mm of travel. I am going to change it to 150mm where I think the sweet spot is for this forkand my riding.
Great video - planning to be there for a couple of days early Nov (COVID and work allowing 🤬). Thanks for uploading this, hopefully it will stay relatively dry as it looks pretty exposed on some of the tops!!!
A fantastic trail and great riding, keep it up and have fun. Ride on
Thank you 😁
FOD is in Gloucestershire NOT South Wales
Oops my bad, geography's not my strong suite haha. Thanks for letting me know dude! 👍🏼
Looks good fun. Did you manage this all in one day? And are most of the uphills on fire road?
It's great! The video is composed of riding from several different days, but this is what i would normally do in a day. And yes, the climbs are all fire road.
@@ridemtb5146 cool thanks, definitely going to try to get there this year. Looks like so much fun
Nice video Great Trail and Great run buddy. Keep it up and have fun. Ride on
Nice work man! 🤙 Just gotta conqueror the tech climb now!
My next goal!
A great performance my friend, respect! It's not easy to get back on the trail after a crash. Great riding and a great video. Keep up the good work and have fun on the bike. Ride on
Thank you, appreciate the kind words!
Think we got chatting to you on Wednesday. Cheers for offering me a plug for my flat tire and thanks for sharing your knowledge of the trails and the area! The Mark of Zorro gave me a massive smile, definitely my sort of trail. Wasn't a fan of the climb that followed but at least the scenery was gorgeous. Got some good photos! Loving your videos! Keep up the great work!
Hi, yeah that was me. Great meeting you guys and glad you loved the place, feel very lucky to be living here. Maybe I'll see you one day at cannock! 👍🏼
Nice video Fantastic trail and nice ride buddy. Keep it up and have fun on the bike. Ride on
Thank you!
Anyone who rides a ragley is my friend
They are such amazing frames!
What frame are you riding there mate if you don't mind me asking?
@@warrenthomas7415 its the 2019 big al frame 🙂
Good riding🤙
Goodd session 😍😍
Could have gone a bit faster
hiya pal got a strava file for this route by any chance? any good for beginners or not?
Sorry man, I've not ridden it enough to know. But i did this when i had only 1 years worth of experience.
What was the most difficult trail?
Umm i ride them regularly so don't really find them too difficult. But when i first started, i would have said Italian job with Zorro being a close second.
Hey mate, Reckon you could do a lower leg service on this fork? Would greatly appreciate it!
Hi, I've done plenty of lower leg services on this for but it's a bit hard to record at the same time. I'll give it a shot though, but if you need help with it, message me on my Instagram __ridemtb and I'll see if i can send some videos.
Hi thanks for sharing i no its been a while but hows the fork got a pair sat in my basket waiting to check out keep looking at the aion or this is it adjustable in hight like the aion with the small plastic clips also the older version had a silicon thing you cut in the air chamber like a rockaox token I seem to remember suntour dropped the cut to length silicon thing in favour of somthing simlar to the token csn you shed any light finaly how are they holding up did the squelching go away ive noticed a simlar squelch in my older axon fork after a service but it went away eventually,. Thanks again for sharing
Hi, sorry for the late reply. I believe all the new suntour forks are adjustable with the plastic tokes as you mentioned. Im not 100% sure if this would lower the fork or simply limit travel and have quicker ramp up. I can confirm the tokens are now rubber and simply click on. As for the squelching, it went away after a month of use. Can't fault the longevity and ease of servicing. I had a hard crash landing a while back which blew the damper oil out. It was easily serviced though, all i had to do was open up the damper and pour some new oil in and it's been fine ever since. The squelching did come back after the damper service but has now gone away again. Im struggling to find other forks that's up to the same standard without costing me around double of what i paid for this. If you're looking at similar forks, such as the aion, i believe you can upgrade the damper and spring on the air side to basically work as well as the auron. But to do this, you'll need the exact length and stanchion diameter internals as far as im aware.
looks like a great trail! subscribed :)
Thank you!
What handelbar you got?
This one's the fsa light Gravity handlebars, I've just sanded it raw.
Good ride mate
cool night view😆🙈
man such as awesome ride. In the middle of nature👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you!
prety sweet flow trails👍🏼
Great vid 😃 cool to see some of my riding.
Thanks man! I'll get some more of your riding when i can keep up better 😂
Ride 😃This is a great mtb video! You will get better, you just earned a new sub !
Thanks man, really appreciate it!
Nice ride. Drunken Druid is becoming a favourite of mine during night rides really like the closeness of the woodland around the track.
I used to not like it much, but I'm starting to go faster and smoother on it now which is making it enjoyable. And deffo agree about the woodlands being close. Wish more of the trails were like that.
This looks similar to Afan Argoed. Good bit of riding though dude, flowing well 🤟🏻
Thanks man! Always trying to smooth out my riding so means a lot that you're noticing it.
I'm looking to buy one of these forks for my bike build is it worth the money?
Hi sorry for the late reply. I would say whatever fork you buy depends on your budget as obviously there are much better forks out there. But i would 100% say these are worth the money. I believe they are meant to compete with the likes of fox 34s and rockshox pike. The rockshox and fox maybe very slightly more plush but for a brand new set, the suntour is almost half the price. The serviceability of the suntour is amazing too, I've broken the entire fork down and built back up with ease and minimal tools.
@@ridemtb5146 Yes I have found a more suitable option a manitou machete which is supposed to fit the plus size tyres I plan on using but thanks anyway
Looks like a fun trail. Nice footage 🤘
Thanks man!
Still rides so good 👌🏻
Nice riding. I haven't rode climachx for 3 years. One of my favourite trails 👌🏼
Thanks man, and definitely one of my favourites too!
You get some great footage, have you thought of adding some commentary of the trail?
Thanks bro, and I quite like the sound of just the tyres rolling on the dirt but I think will add dome commentary eventually in my later videos. Possibly will start doing some mechanical tutorials too.
Nice ride man!
Heya, are you the guy I met out at Nant today?
