We exist to connect the dots across health disciplines, and to share information that gives you the agency to change the trajectory of your own health journey - wherever you are at. The health industry is siloed, confusing and means we're often in the back seat, with little to no belief in our autonomy to improve our health status. We're here to change that and to highlight the ways that you can too.

Dr Marianne Brandon, PhD | Why We’re Having Less Sex - The Latest Scoop on Intimacy, Desire and Tech
Has desire for your partner changed within the course of your relationship? Do you feel like you and your partner are mis-matched in terms of desire? Are you curious to know what you could do differently to change this from a sex therapist with over 27 years experience? Read on.
Dr Marianne Brandon, PhD, joins us as we delve into the complex world of sexual dynamics, relationships, and the future of intimacy. As a clinical psychologist, sex therapist, and futurist, Dr. Brandon sheds light on the often-unspoken challenges couples face in long-term relationships, offering fresh perspectives rooted in evolutionary psychology and modern-day realities.
We cover:
👩❤️👨 Men and Women - why our sexual wiring is fundamentally different and why understanding this matters
🔥 Hijack Your Biology - tapping into primal instincts in safe, trusting relationships
📉 Why Desire Fades - the evolutionary reasons long-term relationships kill lust and tips on how to bring it back
🤖 Sex Tech & VR Porn - how cutting-edge technology is both enhancing and complicating modern relationships
Dr Marianne says - we can’t solve a problem we don’t understand. This episode helps us understand our evolutionary instincts and just how much they play into our modern lives at, largely, an unconscious level - and rather than trying to suppress, ignore, or repress them, to accept them, give them air time, and an outlet.

I’m 67, and for years, I’ve dealt with painful, swollen varicose veins in my legs. I originally bought a mini red light panel from another company, but it was useless-it barely covered my face, let alone my legs. I ended up buying a proper panel from Future Form Official, and it has been perfect for me. I use it every morning for 15 minutes on my legs, and after six weeks, the swelling and discomfort have noticeably decreased. My legs also don’t feel as heavy at the end of the day. I’ll never go without this now.

Personal Theory - - - On a long enough time frame, everyone is either visiting the Orthopedic Dr or Cardiologist. If you focus on strength training, you are gonna go see the Cardiologist (body is good, heart sucks). If you focus running, you are gonna go see the Ortho (body is bad, heart good).

The medical industrial complex wants you SICK so they can (1) give medication or (2) surgery. Anything without a cash value is purposely dismissed and then called “unscientific”. This doctor should acquaint himself with the work of Thomas Seyfried… he’s one of the most important scientists alive today.
Did you see our episode with Dr Thomas Seyfried>
Prof Jeffrey is one very balanced academic. I thank him for not being the guest who purports to have the key to every health problem though he may very well be that person.
He's awesome
Great interview. Millions should be watching this. I read in detail the Zimmerman paper "Melatonin and the Optics of the Human Body" (2019) years ago, but I am still learning much more. It's interesting how traditional medicine paints UVA and UVB as the boogeyman to be avoided all the time. OTOH, UVA/UVB in moderation is quite healthy, and the Red/NIR spectrum deals with any contingencies of ROS from those UV frequencies. Part of the "in moderation" is walking in and out of the woods. With the sun's angle, UVA/UVB is vastly decreased in the winter; the UV frequencies get refracted into Red/NIR in the summer in the forest. We have blinded ourselves to ideas about light; we are literally blind to the presence (or absence) of infrared radiation -- indoors and outdoors. The IR pics are a great feature in the Zimmerman paper. One thing anyone can do at night is listening to audio-only podcasts, e-books, and even app-generated calming sounds. One question: what if you supplement with low-dosage time-release melatonin at night? I had heard that the pineal gland often becomes calcified (i.e., dysfunctional) in the elderly. Was that not correct? Are there downsides to that approach? Oops -- I see Dr. Martin addressed this at 28:10. Part of the question remains: is there signaling that is greatly decreased in the elderly, and how can we counteract that?
Thank you for the thoughtful comment and for engaging so deeply with the interview. Zimmerman’s work really is a treasure trove of insight, and your point about light exposure in wooded areas and seasonal shifts is beautifully put. On time-release melatonin, Dr. Martin did touch on pineal calcification, but the broader question of diminished signaling in the elderly is fascinating. While calcification likely impairs melatonin secretion patterns, low-dose, time-release melatonin may help mimic natural rhythms. Beyond sleep, melatonin’s roles in mitochondrial health, ROS scavenging, and circadian signaling are crucial, particularly as we age. Your insights on UVA/UVB, Red/NIR, and our modern “light blindness” underscore the importance of restoring natural exposure patterns. Would love to dive deeper into these topics in a future discussion. Thanks again for listening and contributing!
Doesn't red light stimulate Mitacondria to burn Glucose and produce Adenosine Triphosphate ? Which apparently is very beneficial. I'm told blue light can stimulate Reactive Oxygen Species , which is bad.
Red light therapy is highly beneficial for mitochondrial function, boosting ATP production and supporting cellular health. Blue light, in contrast, can stimulate the production of ROS, which is damaging to cells and mitochondria if not balanced by antioxidants or limited exposure.
@benhopkins674 indded Ben. I give myself the required 'switch' of RLT and top that up with plenty of Antioxidants. I know I can't rid myself of ROS but I can keep them at bay, so to speak. We do what we can Ben...
Thanks!!
Thank you ! Glad you enjoyed it. Let us know if you have any ideas for the podcast. We would love to hear from you 🎉

Hey thats so kind of you to say ! We really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to leave such a pleasant comment to read. Have a great weekend!
Thank you! It's an incredible story that we are lucky to be able to share
The issue we have is that we have been pushed a theory about how the universe works a scientific standard models and also we have been promulgated a myth that Humans are apart from this world we are observers , we are not we are intrinsically linked and part of nature, at a quantum level, light is energy and waves particle wave theory , we happily accept Xrays and that goes through us but are amazed that infrared light goes through us , albeit a lot gets absorbed and interact with our Physiology, , i am not being obtuse as this is new to me as well , but we must still engage critical thinking and a dialectic way at looking at the world , thank you for the video very interesting , what i have noticed about videos like this is that the interviewer generally asks soft ball questions to the interviewee , interviewers should ask demanding questions to engage in the dialectic process of discussion and risk being offensive ,
I agree. I'll put in some hardballs next time.
10:15 ? the average age in the Savannah is 35? i am not convinced with that hypothesis , please remember all these theories are that theories, the reason for short life spans may be viral load mutation load .. etc humans are designed to live longer than 35 years.. what is the average age for tribes people in the Amazon more than 35 i suspect, historically average age would include infant mortality if you made it past infant int adult your life expectancy would higher than 35, stats stats and lies, a lot of conflation occurs to support a hypothesis. , Thank you for the video anything that moves away from big pharma is good carry on !

Hey - I'm 63 years old now and my desire for sex is quite low. I had tons of girls and ladies back in my 20's and 30's with plenty of sex, no problem - so, I kinda feel like I got plenty more than my share in life. My low sex drive (now being older) is really ok with me because I'm single and do a bunch of other things anyway. Sex used to really drive me when I was young and now I'm free to do plenty of other things instead of chasing tail all the time! It's a good thing for me, I like it that way now. Cheers
That's wonderful! If it's not an issue for you then more power to you ! Appreciate the comment 🙏
Yes. I agree that the cause of certain mental illnesses can be metabolic dysfunction, but I don’t like this narrative in the video that ‘every problem ever (from schizophrenia to anorexia or anxiety) can be solved with ketogenic diet’. I think it is much more complicated than that. And it can be dangerous to say that keto is a solution to everything. We don’t have enough evidence yet.
Such a great point ! I think people want one easy fix when in reality it's a combination of things. Cool it worked for Lauren though !

I just got diagnosed with stage 1 Extranodal NKT-cell lymphoma nasal type EBV positive. I don’t want to start the Standard of Care because I’m trying not to damage my healthy cells. I’m feeling the pressure of my family and friends to start my treatment ASAP, but I can’t find anyone to administer the press/pulse nutritional ketosis combined w/ Glutamine inhibitor. I’ve been following the work of Dr. Seyfried, Dom D’Agostino, Jason Fung, etc. for 9 years now, and have been already metabolically flexible for awhile now. I’m looking to be a participant in this clinical trial, before doing ANY standard of care. P.S. the 3 different major healthcare providers are stumped because my cancer has not spread over the last 19 months. I attribute this to my diet, lifestyle (Intermittent Fasting) Thank you to the dedicated doctors and researchers that have paved the way thus far; Dr. Seyfried and Dom D’Agustino , Jason Fung, Peter Attica, and others in the nutritional ketosis community for their work #readywillingandable #metabolicallyflexible
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I hope you find the treatment that you're looking for and that it works wonders for you.I think Dr Casey Peavler might be worth looking into. Hes been on the show and is a fountain of info and sound implementation on this topic. Wishing you the very best of luck 🙏
Grains are a relatively modern addition to the human diet. But the state of ketosis would have been an intermittent state. It’s not all or nothing.
