I am 84, my sister is 76. Our brother purchased a Rudia 100 watt laser that had been destroyed by a fire. He has restored it and it is now in our garage for us to play with. This video is spot on. In the past we had operated the Controller via Lightburn. There is a couple of ports on the right hand side of our restored laser. I insert my flash drive in the port marked UDisk. I don't know what the second port located under the UDisk port is for. I am wondering if I couldn't use that as a USB port, saving me the need to go back and forth to Lightburn?

Hi Bro hey we have 8 laser engravers (full spectrum brand) and 2 of them got damaged due to electricity problems here in our factory so we bought one Ruida RDC6445S(EC) Dashboard to replace it on one of the 2 damaged engravers but we haven't been able to make it work I was wondering if someone here in the comments know how to install those correctly, we are actually located in Baja Mexico just by crossing the border between California and Mexico so we could pay support for somebody to come here and help us.

I appreciate this updated video. I have someplace I can easily go to see whaat I should be doing. I use a layer of foil than wrap blue tape over the foil so it can't burn through to the cup when I am testing. My biggest issues are: 1. I can't always count on the traction of the wheels against the cup so a step can be skipped in the middle of a cut and then everything is hosed up. 2. Also, I have problems because the bottom cup wheels and the top of cup wheels aren't perfectly aligned and the cup can cock. There is no way to adjust. this alignment on my rotary - which was purchased with my laser 3. My latest issue is I start to burn a logo or picture on a cup and the first mm or so doesn't burn than the burning starts can't figure this out - doesn't make sense. If I have a circle my leading edge is flat. I built a workaround, by putting another item in front of where I want my logo/picture to start cutting. I just use a different layer with a setting that won't trigger the laser - a complete work around but so far it is working. I have to say my experience with the rotary and laser is I can't count on it being consistent and need to factor in waste of at least one cup if bidding a job. That is probably a little more. waste than I need to factor but I have ended up losing money on tumblers if I haven't done this.

I have an EX and use a PI Burn V3. I use blue painters tape with a setting of 400/18/.080 Line interval for testing. I use a 100 x 4 mm vertical rectangle for SPR test. I mark the same 100 mm line on a piece of tape and place it on the cup. Line up the nozzle on the far end of the mark( user origin in top right corner). I send the file and frame it. If it frames correctly hitting both ends exactly, SPR is good. If it is short of hitting the end, add steps, if it overshoots, reduce steps.

Could be a duplicate. I only had my laser less than a week. I already blown this fuse. Do you know what might have caused it. I turned it off the night before and unplugged it.. Only to find when I plugged it in and turned it on that the circuit breaker in the back had tripped... then I found out one of the two fuses had blown. Ive only cut 3-4 items out and not sure why it would have blown.

Got it. You have to compromise on your FIREWALL settings. But it also does not compromise your network, as you use its own WiFi settings directly to a "TP-LINK" SSID on your own machine (creating its own network point to point). But keep in mind, this will stop your usual web/internet/firewall/email connection (its good and bad, but functionally it works from your MacBook Pro LAPTOP or Main WIndows Computer)

Hi Brandon The tube manufacturer recommends a max running current for a reason. That reason is to do with the physics of what happens with in the tube that I'm not even goiing start explaining. He has already done tests and his recommendation is always on the safe side (he has a warranty to fulfil) and should give at least 2 years tube life if used 10 to 12 hours a day.. Cutting at half speed to extend the tube life to 4 years makes no economic sense because tubes are so cheap.. With your suggestion I would have to buy two machines for my production capacity. Try running at max allowable current for your tube and you will find you get far less charing on the cuts. Also your air gap is too big. You are trying to blow air into a 0.2mm wide kerf, I wonder how efficent that will be from 7mm away? I'll leave you to work out how to reduce that airgap to 2mm without messing with your focus. Please do not regard this as cricism, I am making observations that will give better product quality and greater machine efficiency. That, in tiurn, allows you to provide better service to your customers.

Appreciate this video, nbut now that I have been using my laser for awhile, I realize that my eye is not calbrated within 1 to 2mm. So I am finding that this makes a difference when trying to do inlays and otherr intricate work. I am going to try and lay a flat pice of acrylic or wood on the honeycomb bed and use it by putting the laser head in the focus position on one side then going back and forth to see if I can keep the focal length to the head the same. I have found that my ability to make these fine adjustments doesn't always woork but I will try. Do you have any other inishgts for me?

  • @RobSandstromDesigns

Good job Brandon - Laguna really needed to provide this type of instruction. A couple things I would suggest based on my own clumsiness: I would lay down a microfiber or other soft cloth over the honeycomb bed in the event I drop the lens while removing - also stop from losing anything that comes loose. I cringe using metal around the lens because of my shakiness. I use a wooden golf tee to remove the locking ring and it seems to work well. I notice that other Laser manufacturer use a small quick disconnect on their air assist hose to connect it to the little nozzel, vs. pinching the hose and turning the nut. I have had the hose actually come lose from the ferrel a couple times and wonder how many times I will be able to do that and then be able to put it back on and have it hold. I would suggest Laguna loo at adding one of those little quickl push connect fittings in their design.

There is another way but it relies on specific firewall routing. Also the one way not spoken of is the LIGHTBURN BRIDGE, but his requires a completly separate board sold by LightBurn (basically an Ardruino / Rasberry Pi solution). - quite nifty. but the PL 1220 has its own WiFi Board/Chipset connection (and using its own TP-Link SSID, quite nice feature Laguna already has WiFi Built in)
