TOADSTOOL TREE TOPPER 🍄 Crafting a DIY mushroom troop to go on top of my Christmas Tree!
I wanted something different for my tree topper this year - and since my Christmas tree has a kind of woodlandey, foraging type aesthetic, I knew that indulging my mushroom obsession would make perfect sense. I couldn't find anything online when I searched for 'mushroom tree topper' - loads of fungi-themed baubles (and I have wayy too many of those already), but no tree toppers, so I knew the only way I was going to get one would be to DIY it. This has got to be the messiest and most time consuming craft project I've ever done, but I absolutely loved it! I hope you enjoy watching this - what do you have on top of your Christmas tree?

If you like quiet, peaceful nature videos I hope you'll enjoy this film of our relaxing summertime trip to Cornwall. Everywhere was so beautiful, so I thought I'd share the wonderful places we visited. We rented a lovely cottage in the countryside, and spent the whole time exploring gardens and being outdoors - both in the rain and sunshine! It was such a lovely holiday.

Come and visit my balcony garden, meet a few of my plants and seedlings, and sow a few new seeds in what I hope is a nice, relaxing video. I've always been passionate about plants, but this is the first time I've ever had space to grow outdoors! I'm also studying horticulture at the moment, to hopefully one day grow plants for a living.

I visited Puzzlewood, a beautiful, calm, ethereal woodland. A popular filming location, you can see Puzzlewood in films like Star Wars and tv shows like Dr Who! It's a stunningly beautiful place, with fragrant wild garlic covering the forest floor, moss-coated limestone outcrops, little canyons and eery moss-covered trees, as well as all manner of interesting plant life. We took some extra time...

Ikea Nordkisa Wardrobe - assembling and filling it with clothes!
Переглядів 19 тис.4 роки тому
Hi! I bought a new wardrobe recently, the new Nordkisa model from Ikea, and I thought people might be interested to see how it goes up and how it looks with clothes in it. It's a bit different to the usual big, blocky wardrobes because you can see inside it, which looks lovely and also means I have to keep things neat! This is my first time ever recording and editing a video so please let me kn...

    Such a helpful video, thank you! I have a question please, can you slide the other door as well? I was thinking I want the back of the rail section to be sealed off instead of the shelf part. Is that possible? Thank you :)

    • @cia_eclectica
      @cia_eclectica 2 роки тому

      Thank you I'm so glad you found it helpful :) the slatted section on the back can't slide unfortunately, but I wonder if maybe it's possible to actually put the whole thing together with the slatted section behind the rails instead? I'm not at home right now but I'll see if I can work it out when I get back next week. But I'd also suggest emailing Ikea to see though, I've always found them really helpful when I email them about this sort of stuff!

      @@cia_eclectica Thank you for your response! I'm gonna order one anyway just cause it's exactly what I'm looking for but if I can slide the one at the back, I'm thinking of buying two and putting them side by side with the rail part of each unit on the opposite ends of each other, if that makes sense. Such a gorgeous wardrobe and I love your clothes can 'breathe' through it.

    You skipped a part that got me stumped, in the early stage, when you mounted the first shelf, there is another shelf that goes 90 degrees over the first shelf you installed, I looked and looked again you skipped that 90 degree shelf installation and that's what I need, can you please go slow...lol

    • @cia_eclectica
      @cia_eclectica 4 роки тому

      Ah yes, I had to stop the video to move into the living room, and then forgot to put it back on while I did that bit! Can you see at 4:10, the slatted shelf that's on the floor? That was the wrong one. When you see it again at 4:20, I had already swapped it for the right one, but by the time I realised I wasn't filming, I couldn't bear to do it again lol. Basically, those slatted shelves are all very subtly different, and they each only fit in their one correct place, so if you're struggling, my first thought would be that you're doing what I did and trying to fit the wrong slatted shelf in there - hope that helps!

    How do you like the Malm chest and the wardrobe you got together? I’m thinking about getting both pieces but I can’t decide one, if it is too much space and two, if I’m they look good together!

      @cia_eclectica 4 роки тому

      I think they look 'ok' - not great, but not horrible either haha - I already had the Malm but if I could justify buying something different I think I probably would! But the Malm is a fantastic piece of furniture to be fair, you can put SO much in them!

    I love your decorating style! I have a question for you. I was thinking about getting this to use as a bookcase and hand a plant from the hanging section. Do you think it would be sturdy enough for that or do you think the selves and hanging rod would be too flimsy for that?

    • @cia_eclectica
      @cia_eclectica 4 роки тому

      Hi! Aww thank you so much. It is a very sturdy piece of furniture, I'm not sure about books (although thinking about it, the shelves seem much sturdier than a Billy bookcase) but I would definitely put plants on it myself! Ikea should know what the max weight for the shelves are if you contact them - I did the same about a coffee table that I wanted to put books on and they were very helpful :)

    Can you paint or Stain the unit a different color

    • @cia_eclectica
      @cia_eclectica 4 роки тому

      I've read that bamboo furniture is one of the hardest types of furniture to stain because some parts of the wood are more porous than others, but I would have thought paint would be fine as it feels like any other smooth wood! Though admittedly I haven't tried it :)

      Hi! Mine feels really sturdy without so I didn't bother mounting it :) but I don't have any kids or pets who might knock into it, so I think it definitely depends on your circumstances!
