Why Programmers are Miserable | The Harsh Realities of Coding
Hey bro, nice video. Do you mentor junior developers ?
@ThePraQNome Yes, if you need help, you can reach out to me via email. It's in the description of the video.
Good video brother, I know i have a long road ahead, but i am going to be a from end web dev. Id like you to be my mentor thats why i reached out.
Hey bro, you sent you a follow-up email. 💪🏾
This is a great video! I have a question, being a new CS graduate, what apps (and technologies) would you recommend I use when building my portfolio? I've been building projects with C++ but I know there's probably other technologies I should use as well. Thanks.
Thanks bro! What other languages do you know? If you have good C++ programs, you can add that to your portfolio via GitHub. I would also record a demo of your project to explain what it's about.
@@TheFullstackbro C++ is my main language, but I also have messed around w/ Python, Java & Javascript. However I really want to learn HTML & React as well. That's a good idea though, would you recommend I just record a mp4 then upload it my github? But for appreciate the advice bro thank you 👊🏻
Pluralsight is a scam
I've only used Udemy for learning. Has helped me a lot depending on the instructor.
Since I work from home I work in spurts, so I’ll work from 9-11, then 1-3, then usually 4;30-6. During the breaks I cook/eat/chill with my wife or whatever. I’ve found this general schedule to be fairly relaxed while also being very productive
That's great! I do the same on most days. Best way to manage stress and get things done.
Very true
thank you so much for this video! I believed in some of the myths you busted in this video, not anymore! 😎 Subscribed 🤝
Dope, no problem bro! Thank you for subscribing 🤝🏽
Looking fresh bro! Just wanted to drop a note to say keep up the great work, yet another vid where you tap into the things people like me starting out want to know and share your knowledge based on what comes across as real experience rather than copy and paste generic answers. It’s much appreciated 👍
Thanks bro! I appreciate it. I'm glad you found value in this video. Let me know if there's a topic you want me to cover
Great content
Great video bro ✊🏾
Just starting out in AI Driven Software Engineering but feel that I really need to learn from the basics, i.e. coding etc. Your thoughts? Pls make a video about this subject.
Good work bro. I'm in love with your content. I want to build a food app here in Nigeria. Can we work together on a partnership? I need an expert like you to help me build the web app
Going to start Jan 1.
Sounds good bro! Let me know if you need any help 🫱🏽🫲🏾
YT recommended your video and I clicked and never regretted. Please how can I reach you as mentor for code review?
Appreciate the support, bro! You can reach me by email, thefullstackbro@gmail.com.

Your videos feel like a tailor made suit just for me as someone who is just getting into tech. I can’t wait for the next video.
Thanks for watching, bro! I'm glad this video was helpful. Let me know what video topics you want me to do next!
comment for the algorithm bro❤ nice video..
Appreciate the love bro! Thanks for supporting the channel!
good video
Great advice! Thank you!
No problem! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
Wow, this is what senior interviews were back then? I feel like even the mid level interviews these days are way harder than this. Good stuff bro.
Depends on the company for sure. Realistically, you're going to be doing work like the example I gave. It's more practical.
Is this still a relevant path to go in 2025?
It is definitely still relevant. It's just much harder for entry-level people to break into the tech space. It's more about networking and building projects you care about to stand out. The more you learn, the easier it will be to pick a path that makes sense for your future. Such as SWE, freelancing, web development, fullstack, etc.
@ what about CMS and Ai is it going to affect this career as in my Uni they have taken off the Software Engineering degree from the courses for 2025?
I’ve been at it for about 5 years. I am just getting comfortable with app creation with HTML CSS and JS. I gave up looking for professional work (doing interviews) and just focus on learning at my own pace I just love to create. Plus I’m 50 I may never find a job in this but I do love to create and the challenge.
Keep on soaring .
Keep it up, bro! Thanks for watching!
man i just want to make money , can i do it just for money
If that's motivating you to code, then go for it. Just don't do too much to the point you're burnt out.
@TheFullstackbro thank you for the advice for bro
I really fastrated a lot ,and you are making me feel like it's normal
It happens to the best of it. If it's something you really want, you will make time for it.
Thank you so much for letting us know you are available to help us when we get stuck. Do you offer mentoring?
Yes, I do. You can reach out to me with your questions via email. Thefullstackbro@gmail.com
my coding skills took a big hit when AI came out. I started writing less code but I’m much more productive. I can build full stack apps but idk if I’m good enough for a job yet. Now it feels like I rely on AI too much but it’s hard to quit using it when it’s so efficient. What advice would you give?
@Notepad123 What kind of projects did you build? If you want, I can look it over and give you feedback. Just send me an email, but in regards to your question, just stop using AI if you're relying on it too much, bro. Lol just rely on what you know and code. If you get stuck, just look up what you want to do and just apply it.
Underrated advice here. Tbh I'm just getting started with coding, html specifically. I'm doing it beside my business bachelor's degree just because I like creating things on my own and understanding the actual app, website etc. My thought is always, when I see something cool: Damn, I wish I could code that. So I took the biggest step, which is starting . I'll continue with learning the basics of CSS, then Java/TypeScript. I'm taking a guided course for a Full Stack Dev and it will definitely take me a while to complete that but it's fun learning it.
That's good bro! Just keep learning and do those projects. Once you're comfortable coding on your own, build your own fun projects that solve a real-world problem.
Sir do you earn 200k dollars a year now? Please reply. Thanks a lot.
Is it worth it comp sci masters
It's not really needed tbh. With the addition to boot camps, that might be the way to go if you're learning how to code.
I love the profession but accessing computer is a storming block.
I just had a demoralizing interview on Monday where something I worked on over a year ago was asked and I confused it stuff I worked on today. Real painful to say the least. So even if you don’t lie on your resume it’s dam near as bad to forget what you’ve done and get asked to code an example.
Yea bro, you gotta always remember the projects you did and come back to it. You can do a refactor on the new stuff you learned and have a better outcome on the interview. You'll come back stronger in your next interview though!
You need to learn more about SOLID, because you are putting all in one, instead of having separated logic from UI, use hooks! ;)
i didnt know they were also called promises, i'm just used to calling them status codes
That is correct. The promise is not "expecting" the status code, but it represents whether the promise was rejected or fulfilled
@@TheFullstackbro ohhh, that makes sense then. thanks!
This is great honest advice. I’ve seen so many videos lately condemning the Jr Dev role. It’s crazy to see these tech dudes, who luckily got in before 2022, look down on people trying to break into the industry.
Thanks for watching, bro! I'm always going to keep it 100 with all of you. Let me know if you need advice on where to start in your tech journey!
@@TheFullstackbro Hey man I just sent you an email. Thanks!
alright coo... Found someone real AF that keeps it 💯 💪🏾😎
Appreciate that bro! Thanks for watching, and let me know if there's any topics you would like me to discuss on the channel.
I stumbled across this video, and the things you are talking about are very true and accurate. ❤ from Sri Lanka
yet u do telling us ..like practice what or how to practice them what concept ..all youtubers are just yapping nothing esle
Thanks for the words, this video made me motivated!
great content, I myself actually tried being a project manager, and didn't like it as much as coding. I know it sounds silly that someone would say that "I don't want to be a manager" but I honestly tried, and now I understand that I was not meant to go that route.
Thanks bro! Not being a manager is fine. If you love being an individual contributor, just do that for now and continue to get better at your craft. Good luck with your journey and I hope this video was helpful!
Great video sir. This is very much appreciated. I am currently and have been in the automation field(which requires plc programming such as ladder logic, structured text, FDB, etc..)but am looking to transition or shift into just the programming aspects of it. I have a little knowledge of C programming. But In your professional opinion, What would you suggest I do to make this shift, or transition? Thanks for your feedback.
Thank you bro! I would first find out what's my why for transitioning into the more hands-on programming route. Once you get that, find out what programming languages are widely used in the automation space. Using AI can help you easily narrow that down. You can then look for courses on that language that you might want to take. I've personally used Udemy a couple of times and found good courses that were pretty cheap. Just make sure that the instructor is solid and you should be good to go. Hope this helps!
I am in the process of teaching myself coding. I started with web development and now understand the fundamentals of HTML and am learning CSS. I have built some static web pages. I assume that next week I will start learning Java Script and maybe three months later I will learn Python and later C. Trying to solve problems has taught me a great deal about coding.
That's great bro! Just learn the fundamentals from each language you want to learn and just start building projects. Good luck in your journey!
You ain’t ready to be a software engineer if you’re unable to use git, if you applied for full stack role and you can’t manipulate data between front end and back end, and if you don’t understand oop
Facts, good points! It's very crucial to learn that and how to deal with merge conflicts. Can screw up a release if you don't know what are old changes vs. new changes.
Hello Sir,,I'm a youtube SEO specialist with 3 years experience.I follow your channel for a long time
Great Video
nice content, hitted like! thanks you!
Great video. Can you make a video on what the new standards are for new cs graduates like me to get hired today as AI can code so good now.
build a strong portfolio of the niche your going into. My portfolio of applications that i have made throughout my cs degree and even before that probably contributed heavily when i applied for a job. Oh and also dont forget to leetcode.
Thanks for watching! Sure, I'll create a video on that topic. But, definitely work on your portfolio and have good working projects. That's going to help you land a job because you understand the projects you built.
How are you Sir?
