What is the average and minimum depth to see hammerheads?
The presence of hammerheads depends largely on ocean conditions. We often encounter them at various depths, sometimes very close to the surface. On average, we dive with them at around 20 meters, but we may go as deep as 30 meters. That said, hammerhead sharks can also be found at much greater depths. During our dives, we typically stay within an average depth of 20-25 meters. If the hammerheads are deeper, we might extend our dive to a maximum of 30 meters. I hope this clarifies things! If you have any additional questions, feel free to email us at info@galapagossharkdiving.com-we’re happy to help.
Wonderfull 😍

People are the worst creatures in the world 🌎! How many animals have to die before some truly harsh laws are implemented against those who are irresponsible when using the ocean and it's bounty? I think all nets that are not hand held should be banned for ever ❤
They are so beautiful
wah bery got❤❤
That one roommate who snores alot:
that is so beautiful
there are so many!
Yes, this place is just magical! :)
It's like they move in squads
Yes, you could think that. And of course that is only a part what you see. I could watch it over and over again.
During the last el nino? 1996? I think you skipped a liitle time there
I scrolled back up to something i meant to fully watch, then did i souble take, seeing the marine iguana's tail and thinking it was a mosasaurus of sorts, due to not processing what I had seen in a split second. Liked. Subbed. Lovely voice work.
Thank you very much for your comment. Marine Iguanas are quite impressive.
🩷💜🩷Beautiful gentle giants. I'd absolutely LOVE to be able to swim alongside one just once before I die!! #BucketList
Now this is a whaleshark. See how wide it is in its front body and head. It also has spots all over. There's a UA-cam short that shows a huge, over 20 foot long Great White shark next to a boat and the people are freaking out. One comment said it was a Whaleshark. But he obviously is blind ! You can clearly see the intire shark and it's no whaleshark !!!! It IS a Great White shark. It's the one they named Submarine. There's a huge difference between a whaleshark and a Great White shark !!!
"promosm" 😢
One of the scariest things I've ever seen.
He’s terrifying but also kind of cute in a way
That is both awesome! And terrifying!
Bucket List!
Beautiful ❤❤❤
which month did you dive? Thanks
This video is recorded in July, beginning August. Looking forward to maybe have you on one of our Shark Conservation Dive Trips. Let me know if you have any questions. All the best Jenny
month?
This video was filmed on a dive liveaboard in July / August. The best time for big schools of hammerhead is June to November. Does that help? Maybe see you on one of our Shark Conservation Dive Trips? ;)
Thank you for making me even more excited about my trip with GSD next month!
Enjoy your trip! See you in Galapagos.
Can’t wait til August 26th!!!!!
Soon, very soon. ;) We are very much looking forward to travel with you! And it is JULY 26th ;)
@@galapagossharkdiving good spot!! Yes JULY!!🤣
How long is the average dive?
Hi Mike, thanks for the question. The time of the dive always depends a bit which dive spot we are diving. Some are deeper and some are more shallow. However, I would say the average time is between 45 - 55 minutes. The max depth we are diving is 30 meters. If the wildlife is in 20 meters we will be at 20 meters. Some places like the dive with marine iguanas is only around 5 meters - what means you can stay over an hours with no problem - and got I love this dive. :)
@@galapagossharkdiving Thank you for the quick reply.
that shark is so cool
Yes, sharks are really interesting and fascinating animals. :)
woah no one here on comment im only here
Yes, thank you very much for your comment. :)
On the bucket list 😍
Hi Helmut, now is a good time to join us. We still have spaces available in July, August & September. All the best and see you, Jenny

Great job Jonathan, must have been challenging to say the least - a new class of cleaning station for Darwin.
Extraordinary feat Mr G, and glad you didn't get yourself entangled in that plummeting net!
Stunning video. So excited to be booked on this trip next year!🤞🤞🤞
Galapagos! really super !see you on my side-
😍😍
Thank you for your comment. :) Have you been to the Galapagos Islands?
Thank you for your comment. :) Have you been to the Galapagos Islands?
Love what you do. We do videos for our non profit but everything comes out backwards. What camera do you use where the words come out correctly and not backwards?
Hi Marine Conservation Network, thanks for your comment. I had some issues with my camera and only used my phone and a microphone for that interview. Video worked on with Adobe Premier and Audition. Not sure if that helps you?
i wanna hug it
Totally understand what you mean. They are definitely very adorable, aren't they? :)
Very good video, thanks for sharing. I will go in November, 25 days to Galapagos. Could you tell me what is the best way to visit Fernandina Island? Cape douglas? Thank you so much
Hi Alejandro, yes to dive with marine iguanas the best spot is cape Douglas. However, there are no day tours going there. A few dive boats have it on there itinerary. If you like I will have a look which ones might be available in November? Additional if you would want to go on land - Fernandina of course is the highlight for marine iguanas. And still you also can find them on the main islands. If you like write us a whatsApp (+593 98 185 2631) and I try to give you some more places where to go exactly. All the best Jenny
@@galapagossharkdiving I will write you. Thank you!
Great footage, what cam is used? and it looks like no particular current during the Darwins dive, where i felt like a sea grass straw :P
Thank you very much. We used a GoPro 8 and worked a little bit on colors afterwards. Yes, we were very lucky with the conditions up in Darwin on this particular trip. Not always like that as you know. :) Thanks for the nice comment. All the best
Wow! I’m heading to the Galapagos at the end of July! How tough were the currents and dive conditions for you?
Thank you Kristen for you comment. End of July is a amazing time - exactly the right time to dive in the beautiful islands. We will be there too with our Shark Conservation Dive Trips. :) Currents and conditions always change from week to week - even day to day. So it is very hard to tell you how the conditions will be. It can be very calm but in this time of the year it also can be some currents. Also depending in which dive spots you are diving. You are heading for a great adventure. All the best Jenny
Excelente!..gracias

Cold-blooded in the cool water with strong current (waves?). Amazing! Sea algae consumption makes me feel sympathy, too (being Japanese)!
Thank you Hiroki Mori for your comment. Yes marine iguanas are really incredible creatures - and so adaptable. I just love watching them. When doing so you just lose track of time! One of my favorite dive places in the world! :) When are you joining us? :)
Amazing!
Thank you so much Cassandra Black. All the best and maybe see you one day in the Galapagos Islands.
