Thank you.
Carolina Chocolate Drops perform Sourwood Mountain. This video was posted as a prelude to what became the production "Keep a Song in Your Soul", staged at the Old Town School of Folk Music. We had a good time!
Dan is a funny teacher! I learned a lot from him!

How'd I miss this video? Beautiful harmony
Hello Aloha Aⵣul S from Northafrica ⵣ
I went to OTSOFM when I was maybe 13. During late 6o's / early 70. On North Avenue. For guitar there was a big room and maybe 40 people banging away. The theory was nobody would hear _your_ mistakes. We got mimeographed sheets to put in our 3 ring binders, with words and chords to study. En Canadien Errant. Tennesee Stud. It took all day Saturday with a break ( which nobody took, we kept talking bout Dylan and the latest issues of SingOut magazine) After school we all stuck around, forming 'bands'. The school would bring in pro's for use to see and talk to. I remember this wild guy from Brazil 66 who played a 1 string mouth bow fretted with a big foreign coin. He's jump around the stage, really wired up. I remeber putting my 60$ dreadnaught into its bag, taking the Elevated back to Oak Park, then a bus back to Franklin Park where I lived. Congrats to the School, you improved a lot of lives. Thank you. TomP retired in ChiangMai Thailand.
John is always amazing -- thanks for posting!
Fue un honor haber tenido a Roberto Arce como maestro en el año 1998, en la ciudad de Chicago . Donde quiera que estes te agradezco de corazón tu enseñanza! De tu ex alumno Alex Pureco.
Beautiful song, beautiful guitar playing!
El que toca el cuatro en el medio es mi orgullo, mi viejieto, mi papa, Nicky Brevan. El mejor cuatrista de Chicago. Te extraño muchisimo. Descanza en paz. 😔 The one playing the cuatro in the middle was my father, Nicky Brevan. Rest in heaven. I will forever be proud of you, you were the best!
Lovely visuals at the start, great camera angles, very clear explanations and wow... what a time lapse! Thanks very much 👍
Lovely!
God, she's pretty!!

lucky us
I just ran across a cassette tape I put together decades ago that included Chris Farrell singing "I'm Jogging With Jesus". I don't know if this was a recording or an in-studio performance at WFMT - FM in Chicago for their program "The Midnight Special". Is anyone familiar with the tune or with Chris Farrell? My interest in the folk music scene in Chicago was waning about the time Chris hit town in the mid '60s.
grazie
Remember me from rush day school? Andrew
Wow! Great job team! Gonna rock this next session! Yeah!!
Poignant, marvelous, necessary, evocative! What a gathering of gifted artists ~ Thank you for producing this meaningful and inspirational concert experience.
VIDEO ACTUALLY STARTS AT 6:06.
This song goes back to the mid 1970s. It was a little faster. This sounds like the original singer. Beautiful songstress.
True. But Lisa DeRosia covers it really well here.
Maravilhoso
That drummer in the first group is very dialed in. Great performance!
Me encantan estas inspiraciones!! Gracias Guillermo! ....y Leones! También estaban en el gusto de Oscar Chávez. Vengan a San Diego, CA.
Gracias por subir esas buenas poesías cuando Guillermo estaba joven y creo que que el primer vara era don chevo en que año fue esto y donde ? saludos desde Dallas tx

Hi liz

FABULOUS MUSICIAN!!!

Great class! Do it!
Great quality on the sound and video!
Gorgeous!
I grew up knowing this great song from an LP my parents gave me call "50 States, 50 Songs" and I'm so happy to have rediscovered it in this exceptionally beautiful, lively arrangement. Mark Dvorak has a profound voice with natural, unforced strength behind it - BRAVO!
This is a medley of Nifty's Freilach and And The Angels Sing. Yes, I love the Old Town School of Folk Music. Am 66 years old and have been coming here for jams and lessons almost 7 years. Great for babies, kids, teens, young adults, adults and oldies but goodies. The teachers are great!
This is the most moving, beautiful rendition of this song I think I've ever heard! I love the D tuning! You've inspired me to sing it again!
For Mother Maybelle, you are using the metal pick the wrong way.
OUTSTANDING! I want to know who the singer is. The guy has big potential.
this is great. keep posting new vids!
OMGG, this is so refreshing!!! So good, such great vocals! Only to have this sound all of the time!!
