J.Brahms. Ballade Op.118 No.3 (from 6 Klavierstucke) - Alexey Yemtsov

The late opus numbers of Brahms are undoubtedly some of his finest collections of pieces. We are lucky that Brahms kept them in a miniature form - that's my personal opinion. We can hear everything here. Should I record more of these? Enjoy this Ballade. AY

I hope you enjoy this Cappriccio in B Minor. I plan to record more pieces by J.Brahms in the future. There will be another piece by Brahms next month released. For all the fans of Brahms' piano music - I hope you will like it. As they say - "smash" the like button!
Sergei Rachmaninov - Etude-Tableau in B Minor op39 no4. Alexey Yemtsov

I hope to record many more Etudes from both Op33 and Op39. I hope you enjoy them, I certainly do. These - endlessly russian - etudes capture so much more than just one image or mood. It is too easy to let one's mind wonder, but Rachmaninov's music should not be overthought. At its heart it must remain simple, direct and honest. End of story. AY

Here is another great transcription of Arcadi Volodos - Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No.13. It took a lot of time to accomplish. Very many details that I had to hear again and again just to be sure. I think this is a fantastic transcription. This version is from many years ago, when it was released on UA-cam - Volodos performing live. Since then, in 2007, he released a CD titled "Volodos Plays Li...

This is one of everyone's favourite pieces of music, thank you Mr.Debussy! There are so many worlds you take your listeners to. I find that I can never play this music the same way twice - always find something new: some tiny detail of sound or a phrase... There is so much to listen to here. What about you? AY
Bach-Siloti - Prelude in B Minor. Alexey Yemtsov

A long long time ago I heard this arrangement of Bach Prelude (from WTC) played by Emil Gilels. Well, no more needs to be said - that recording is wonderful. Although Gilels is fairly free with text, it is maybe even better in his interpretation than the original score (Siloti's). I wanted to record it for a long time, and now got the chance! I hope you enjoy listening to it. AY
Tchaikovsky-Volodos "Lullaby In A Storm" Op.54 No.10 Alexey Yemtsov

This is one of my favourite piano transcriptions that Arcadi Volodos did. This Lullaby is just wonderful. It seems that there is an endless amount of tiniest details to be found, no matter how many times I play it. Please note that the score for this transcription is NOT available, I keep it in my private collection. There are quite a few other transcription scores that are available from my we...

Rachmaninov and Volodos seem to work really well together. Who would have thought this romance could be transcribed for piano so beautifully? Thank you Sergei and Arcadi! great playing
Thank you!
This is highest class of musicianship! He doesn't even care about virtuosity. Just amazing! Thank you Mr.Yemtsov
Thank you! You are very kind.
What a quality play ! Beautiful !
Thank you! I am glad you liked it!
Alosha, you are amazing at putting down to paper by ear these super difficult transcriptions. Alas, Volodos like Horowitz with his Carmen Variations tended to modify his transcriptions constantly. I would love for you to attempt to subscribe the later CD version you were speaking about. I am in awe how accurate your hearing is. It's been a long time. I hope you're wel. Take care, Greg
Hello Greg! Yes, it has been a long time! I am planning to try and transcribe a few transcriptions of Horowitz, of course! Will probably try Carmen!
Best of luck with that. Keep up the great work@@alexeyyemtsov
Beautiful. Thank you. So much enjoyed your recital yesterday at Kettering.👍🏻
Thank you! I am glad you liked it!
You can also subscribe on my website to the concerts that I plan to produce. This way you won't miss any of my performances. This is at the very early stages of planning, but I would like to bring good classical piano concerts to Tasmania.
@@alexeyyemtsov sounds great 👍🏻👍🏻
Hello Alexey, I'm just curious to know if you will ever decide to share the score of "Andante" in the future. Thank you very much.
Hello, there are a few transcriptions that I do not share unfortunately. Well, at least for now. Andante is one of them.
Ok. I will just wait patiently. Thank you for your reply.@@alexeyyemtsov
Magnificent music and playing. First class, second to no one.

thanks a lot !
Thank you very much!!!
Thank you! I am glad you like it.
Great job, Alexey! That was, no doubt, a lot of work. Thanks for posting it. An observation: In measure 68, that D and E# in the L.H. in the first chord sounds GODAWFUL! 😬Your transcription is accurate, but I have to question why Volodos would play those notes. I think C and F# in the L.H. (with the A & D# in the R.H., thus creating a C diminished 7th chord) is MUCH better and more musically logical and pleasing. I do question your B & D# and D# & F# in the R.H., in the first beat of measure 157. Volodos sounds like he's actually playing C & D# and D & F# (creating a major tonality) then in measure 159 plays C & D# and D & F (creating a minor tonality) in the first beat. I definitely hear the minor 2nd shift from F# to F natural.
Hello Tom, Thank you for your comments. Honestly I don’t know how or why AV settled on the harmony in bar 68. His creative process is beyond me and I do not dare question it. However, after checking it - both the CD and video recordings - I must say that bar 68 is correct. Bar 157 - You are absolutely right to spot the misprint! Thank you. The bar 157 first measure must have a B# and D# in RH - just like in bar 159! I was struggling with the software for a very long time while doing Turkish March and had to edit a lot of PDF, creating manually stems going up and down. I just couldn’t find a way to write it in Sibelius. But thank you for picking these up. I see some other funny missing notes as well. I will have to re-print the Turkish March and make an update video. AY
Great Channel. Thanks a lot, congratulations.

Большое спасибо за Ваш высококлассный вклад в пианистическое искусство!
Спасибо, Константин. Скоро должна появиться еще одна транскрипция.
You deserve way more views. These are the best transcriptions (yours) of the best arrangements (Volodos) of the best music (Rachmaninoff)! in my opinion of course.
Thank you Eric. I will keep transcribing and occasionally recording some music. Yes, I also think that Rachmaninov and Volodos is a great match.
@@alexeyyemtsov Your recordings are better than Volodos! In my opinion. I love the clarity and care you put into each note.
@@EricLeePiano Thank you Eric, you are too kind.
I almost forgot about this beautiful transcription! Thank you. Wonderful as always...
Thank you Eric. It is a wonderful transcription indeed.
I was under the impression that there was NO propriety in the Baroque or Classical eras of changing notes or rhythm, but that in the late Classical and Romantic compositions, extemperaneous note sequences and rythmical ( rubattos for exzample/ peddling ) were not only expected, but the were in the music, provisions for substituytion?
you played it better than volodos 😳
Thank you, you are very kind.
You are incredible!
wonderful composition and play!...
Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing. I've heard also a beautiful transcription of Op.21 no.7 played by Josh Wright. Is it possible to purchase these scores? I would love to play it.......Thank you very much.
Hello, please stay tuned, the score of op21 no7 is going to be available in November for a free download just as other scores on my website (I will never sell them). AY

Fantastic and congratulations! I know in part how exhausting this is.... PLEASE transcribe the "Ruslan and Lyudmila" ...this piece haunts me for years...
Hello Andreas, I will certainly attempt to transcribe Ruslan and Ludmila. Not sure of the recording quality, but I will see if it is possible. R&L will be very challenging.
@@alexeyyemtsov Hey Alexey, thanks for replying. I only know of the video that i uploaded under another username 'listen and learn'. there are a few recordings (however only audio) available ....hard to find...i'll try to find one again since the original i had i lost...too bad. there is another video available of a Tristan Pfaff here on youtube playing this. that sounds already pretty volodos sheets like....
@@andreaskarsch3732 Ok thank you, I will have a closer look (a little later in the year).
