I saw that mustang up close a few months ago while chapparoning a 7th grade class field trip to planes of fame. It truly is in "as new" condition, immaculate! I highly recommend that all warbird enthusiasts pay this museum a visit!

This is flying history. I was at the Atlanta PDK airshow this summer talking to young pilots. And none of them could understand why I was fascinated at a P-40, P-51, B-25, C-47, AT-6, etc., flying over head.

this should NOT be restored. restoration will destroy the history. it is too valuable of an artifact. Same yellow nose as they flew in the BoB - priceless. Battle damage is priceless. it should just be preserved to stop further deterioration.

Corrections: (1) 3,590 L-5s were delivered during WWII, not 3,600. (2) The designations went from L-5 to L-5B. There was no L-5A variant. The 'B' model was designed for medical evacuation.
