Swimming the the Alpharetta Sharks because of Covid John still managed to have a great swim season breaking the Medlock Bridge Buterfly record handily on multiple ocassions! My favorite line is towards the end when a young girl heard Johns time in butterfly, "...the dude did 17 in butterfly?" The awards for that part start at the 9 minute mark.

Howdy there! Awesome video John, cool to see you and your family all in awe and having fun! I went to Europe myself back in Summer 2022 for one month. Spent time in France for three weeks with my cousin from my mom’s side. Was originally gonna go to Austria for the third week but plans fell through. For the final week though, went to Germany - got to explore: Downtown Mainz, Coppermein, Burg Eltz, Assamanhausen, and the Rhine River. I was actually playing back my Europe vid, and yours got recommended to me: ua-cam.com/video/UNKHOYmKZ8o/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared Really wanna go back, spend more time in Germany! Just gotta get my ducks lined up before doing so!

13 and going this speed is definitely good. I haven't had experience with yard swimming but as a metre swimmer ill give you what i can. You can see he gets a lot of distance on his dive, maybe 3 yards, if you look at his hand movement off the block, you can see he lifts his hands forward, meaning off his dive he is leaving all of the power up to his legs. What he could practice is using his arms to propel himself more forward alongside his legs which will help him get more power. He gets a good amount of distance on his underwater each time, but you can see when you watch it back at 0:13 to 0:17 that the kick is mainly downwards motion focussed. You'll notice as you go amonst swimmers later in your sport journey, they have a powerful movement both upwards and downwards with the kick. Although, you want to make sure that it is more your whole body movement generating the power, rather than the extention movement at the knees. Looking at the stroke overall, he keeps his head fairly low when breathing, decreasing the drag on your chest, which is good. maybe a fraction lower would be even better. It is clear that he has stamina, as he splits with 28 seconds, and comes back in 59, meaning he has a fairly strong back-end of the swim. you'll notice other swimmers running out of stamina more rapidly than he does. if you look at the catch between 0:42 and 0:51 youll notice that the elbows slip back as he pulls, meaning a lot of power is being lost. if he started the catch earlier, before the backwards movement at the elbow, then it could definitely increase the power and speed he gains. Overall, in my opinion, if he had another 5 or 6 metres, he could have one that race, due to his clear stamina, and from me, congratulations on going under 1 minute!!!
